I was sent to a weld shop in Garland by a tire shop in Rowlett for a cracked aluminum wheel. Later I returned to the weld shop for a design I created out of the blue. I hose clamped a 2 3/8" 8' steel post to another same but cemented post actually part of a fence. I did this twice and tied a cable in between for a purpose not necessary to explain. The strain was pulling the mated pole, thus the fence pole and the whole fence inward. My solution (because I could not bury the sister poles) was to slide them into a slightly wider pipe, welded to a plate (foot) and gusseted to keep the large L shape from breaking the weld. The assembled foot keeps the pole from tilting inward. The weld shop suggested I go buy the materials at Centennial.
It was heavy covid time. They asked me to stay in my car. A helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, professional gentleman came to my car, reviewed my design and list of supplies. While I waited, they made sure all of the stock was there, came back with a price which was very reasonable, and then cut everything to my specs. They had that in the car in about a half an hour. It was everything I wanted, on demand, customized, cheaply, warmly, and put in my car. I was flat out amazed. I took it to the welder and they put it all together for me while I had lunch. It's been working like a charm for a couple years or so.
I'm now working on another custom project and looked them back up. I've since revived my old Yelp account and now can tell you all what an amazing one of a kind business this is. I could not have gotten what I needed from a big box store. Online would have cost a fortune. So go to them not only when you need the rare items only they can get you, go to them instead of the big box store for angle, flat stock, pipes, etc. Support businesses like this or they won't be there. read more
