I hired them to write a legal contract to purchase a property in Mexico. After a long wait time,…read morethe lawyer sent me a contract with plenty of mistakes. Name missing, wrong address, wrong amounts, etc... I am still trying to make her correct/ modify the contract but honestly they just don't care. It has been over 1.5 month now, still no contract and they don't answer when I request a follow up. It's just a nightmare from the start so far.

Our father passed away in Mexico, leaving behind a townhouse he co-owned with his wife. We three…read morechildren were left a 1/2 interest in the property. We needed Power of Attorney representation for a potential sale of the property, and also realized that, in the absence of the conveyancing lawyer doing her job, we would need to have a law firm work with us to ensure were on title (the "recognition" process). After contacting Anna (administrative staff) and Mariana (lawyer) at MexLaw (east coast), who assured us they had a presence in Puerto Vallarta, we wired a retainer of $1200.00 USD. As we did not need the PoA services until we were on title, we contacted the lawyer who was to handle our file, asking could she possible assist with the recognition process (meeting information and document requirements, the legal requirements, to be placed on the title of the property). First we were told yes, so we then had to have our personal information notarized in our three different cities and then went, in person, to the Mexican consulates our three cities where for a fee, the consulates would stamp and return our information, whereupon we couriered it to MexLaw, as per this MexLaw lawyer's instructions. We were then told that because this was not for the Power of Attorney Services, a different MexLaw lawyer would have to be used, and the retainer we had already paid, would not apply...so we would have to send more money. In the meantime, however, the Puerto Vallarta office (Carlos) had been vacated and there was no one there to act on our behalf. It appears that, after three attempts to contact MexLaw by telephone and via it's website, they have lost our original notarized and consulate-stamped information.
