Note!: This review is not about the church it's about The RADIANT Women's conference. It was wayyy too much!!! Chaotic and not prepared. No place to sit for lunch. People all over sitting on the floor in the lobby. We've known about rain for weeks so this church should have prepared for it. I think the most disappointing thing is they didn't have the volume up in the lobby so you can hear the seminar inside. Even the bathroom speakers were on low. Inside the chairs were too close together (although very comfortable)... I'd prefer stadium seating with a cup holder. I personally didn't care for the evangelical style of this conference. I agree with Lindsey's assessment. I'm simply giving my personal account/experience in this review. Take it or leave it. I've visited Celebration multiple times (to be open-minded and not base it upon one visit). Each time was more unsettling. The obsession these followers have specifically for Joe is crazy. They treat him like he's a celebrity. It's nearly occultic, in my opinion. I am not someone who is unlearned or ignorant to various ministries/worship styles. I've seen it first hand, having attended Steve Munsey's "church" back in Indiana. Steve got up there and put on a show every Sunday. It was theater, entertaining, and "magical". He had as much cosmetic surgery done (and his wife) as Joan Rivers. He would arrive in a limo, with his own personal security team, all dressed in black suits and ties with earpieces and dark sunglasses (in a dark auditorium haha). He lived in a mansion with a security team around the parameters. The ministry team would force you to speak in tongues directly after getting baptized, or had security standing at the doors in the room so you couldn't leave until you showed evidence of speaking in tongues to the ministry staff. Joel Osteen would frequently visit and was a good friend of Steve's. Like the others mentioned above, this church models the same makeup (although not to the extreme as Munsey's "church"). It's all about prosperity gospel, receiving and being "blessed" in all ways, manifesting personal wealth, and giving generously to the "church" (a.k.a. the Pastoral team) financially. It's not about truly serving, each other or the community. It's not about truly connecting with others. I have encountered MANY people who have said (when asked what church they attend): "Oh, I attend Celebration Church, it's the best". Yet, also say when I ask follow up questions: "Oh..no, I'm not involved in any small or fellowship group". "No, I don't really have time to serve. I just like the worship style." "No, they don't have a special needs ministry". "I've been attending for years and I don't feel connected or seen." "Oh, I mean I only attend online and watch the services while doing other things". I've dated a few individuals (and even married one) who claimed to be involved at Celebration only to find out 1) involved meant "I watch online every now and then", or 2) they were actively in the occult (astrology, divination, sorcery, etc.), and/or 3) they didn't even pray to Jesus, or use His name. They were praying to (a) God alright, but their God was money, prosperity, getting everything and anything they wanted (i.e. taking from others or expecting handouts) and it was never stamped with the ONLY seal that gets our requests to God directly - "in Jesus' name!" Celebration is very similar to the other mega churches that preach prosperity and wealth, and use guilt and shame to manipulate you to "give" to their cause. It's not biblical folks. It's the antithesis of what Jesus came to fulfill. read more

Out of every church I've attended, I strongly recommend going somewhere else. This was the most disappointing experience I've ever had in a place of worship. The entire message centered around money and guilt rather than faith or community. The pastor went as far as implying that Jesus doesn't love you or won't connect with you if you don't give, and even compared giving to grieving over a lost loved one. It felt manipulative and deeply unsettling. This church represents exactly how religion has sadly turned into an industry rather than a relationship with God. read more

New Years Day service (1-1-24) was wonderful and it was nice to see Pastor Joe. But this will be the last time I ever step foot at Celebration Church. I have learned that churches, as religious organizations, are exempt from observing the ADA LAW for individuals with disabilities. I have a small service dog you see and here's where we have a problem. This is what happened : I was approached by a male team member asking me if this was indeed a service dog. I say "yes." He further asks "what is he for??" I answered that as well. He then said my picture needs to be taken and saved in his smartphone for staff information purposes. He proceeds to tell me that I will need to check in every single time I visit to register that I have a service animal and receive a certain wristband, that every visit will be a different color wristband. That way I'd be marked as having a service dog. He asks what my SD's name is and then touches my animal without my consent! Outrageous I am not interested in jumping through these hoops just to be apart of services here. To the public, knowledge is power. Be aware that you will need to do all these things in order to be compliant with their strict protocol and welcome on campus. I wrote this in order for the next person who suffers from a disability that is unseen to be equipped with this information as to not be caught off guard. Then they can make up their own minds as to what they think is reasonable for themselves. read more

6 years later, yes still going to Celebration Church. My daughter is now a Junior in High School and still loves attending. She's been volunteering to watch the children during Sunday service for several years, kids camps, and interning. She chooses to go on her own. She met her best friend at this church and they hold each other accountable for all the temptations and struggles of their youth, both amazing girls that you'd want your children to be around, and would look up to and be proud of. There are so many children in the kids, middle school and high school. If you have children and teens, this is a great church to grow up and build long lasting friendships. When she started high school she was so scared, but she knew so many people already not just from middle school but those that attended our church in current and upper class man that she felt at peace. Since attending our lives have transformed. My husband battled alcoholism and proud to say he ended his addiction a few years ago. Our marriage suffered trials, but consistently attending weekly has restored our marriage. We have a successful business all because of the glory of God. Every time I ask for a prayer request, they have prayer warriors 200-300+ people praying and the prayers have helped my friends and family that have suffered near death health, addictions, and financial issues. A church is just a church but it's the power of the relationship with God that this church strongly encourages. I've been to very judgmental churches, small, medium and large, but have never felt so much love and fulfillment. Every worship I feel the Holy Spirit. You will feel it to at this church so I recommend getting there early because there is a long line just getting into church. Pastor Joe is doing amazing things, building churches in Italy, Mozambique, Leander, Lakeway, Correctional Facilities Ministry, and now a school Austin Christian University. I love knowing I'm a part of a church that is doing amazing things locally and in other countries, especially for our military overseas. Growing up in a military family I know how it feels to move around and try to feel a sense of belonging. Hello! 1st I want to say this church is AMAZING & we highly recommend this church! We are new to Texas from So California & when we moved here we lived in Pflugerville for 2 months. During that time we found Celebration Church in Georgetown. This location has 5pm service on Sunday so it's perfect for me... I'm not a morning person at all...lol We are used to mega churches & in Cali attended Mariners Church in OC California. **Wait hold on because I forgot to say this...We're older folks & I was raised in the RLDS church & my dad was a Minister & my husbands grandfather was an Assembly Of God Pastor so we come from the church as children but very different styles & teachings but we're Christian but also need that "FIRE" from the message** OK I feel better now saying that... lol. This church is AMAZING! The pastor(s) are all fantastic & teach from the Bible. I never had a difficult time understanding or comprehending the message. The worship team is AMAZING! The people I mean everyone from the door greeters to the pastors themselves went out of their way to make us feel welcome & that we belonged there! Love this church so much! The VIBE is so welcoming! So the bad part is we MOVED to an awesome city called Kyle & it's just to far to drive for us. There is another location in Austin that we have NOT visited yet but plan on soon. If your hesitant but looking for a church where you will fit in... CELEBRATION CHURCH is it! Just give it a try & see for yourself. I and my daughters attended the Radiant Conference 2025, where Priscilla Shirer spoke. Her words were anointed and pierced our hearts with the Truth. I loved that she and the Champions opened the alters up for prayer and allowed Holy Spirit time to meet the needs of those who responded for prayer. The time spent for prayer was not stopped, as the prayer lines continued to grow, but each one was ministered to and prayed over, a rare scene in our day and age, as churches are so guided by their schedules and the clock. The speaker, Priscilla Shirer spoke after the prayer was finished and again, the anointed Word of the Lord came forth. We were encouraged, and blessed of the Lord, beyond measure. I might add, the Champion's, and the host Pastors of Celebration Church, shared their testimonies of God's grace and healing, Lori Champion gave us her new book and I'm looking forward to reading it. We were guests of theirs for the conference, but each interaction with their team was positive, helpful, and friendly. Georgetown is blessed to have the Champions and this wonderful congregation serving their community, in the love of the Lord. Thank you all. So we've begun attending regularly in-person over the past 8 weeks. What we really like: We love the diverse crowd. It is evident in the band, the staff, and the pastors. People are extremely friendly and welcoming. We are very impressed with this church and will continue to attend to see if this will become our new church home. What we're still getting used to: In the past our experience has been to first volunteer service, then attend a service where the opening songs are 3 songs and 15 minutes. A pastor opens and greets for 10 minutes, the speaking pastor speaks an highly focused message for 30 minutes, the closing is 5 minutes. Grand total is one amazing hour then off to bible study for the following hour. Celebration opens with 30 long minutes of music, then the pastors seem to stretch a 30 minute message into an hour. It's not a bad thing, but it feels redundant and like it's dragging on. We love church, and this is not a complaint. It just makes for a very long morning. Overall, great place. read more

Saddened at this church. Today Pastor Joe Champion said to his congregation that it doesn't matter how you vote but wether your right with Jesus. On the surface that sounds great and even rendered an applause but I wonder if the church came to their biblical senses? We are on the cusp of losing our biblical freedoms in this country. We forget also our nation was founded on biblical principles. 65 million children have been sacrificed through abortion because the church has been silent on politics. We will be held accountable by God one day. I wonder if Pastor Joe Champion is thinking of that? I pray celebration and other churches trapped by their 501C3 step up and step out as these days we need the voice of God, Prophecy and Understanding not tickling of the ears motivational speeches. read more

Seems like a nice church and the pastor has a good heart but it appears they really need money to pay for that multi million dollar complex they have built. This service was entertaining because they had circus people and movie clips LOL. I don't think that is the norm but it appears they are high on entertainment. This "mega church" is the epitome of why Christianity and most religion in general is looked down upon in today's culture. The pastor does not care about anything other than money. A church member donated a home to him worth $985k and Pastor Joe chose to live in it, while he could have sold it and used the money for a good cause. At the same time, he preaches how everyone should give at least 10% of their income to the church, even if they are going through harsh financial struggles. That is sickening considering his exorbitant salary given to himself. The New Testament does not require Christians to tithe. I would advise anyone currently or considering attending this church to take a look at the reviews on the yellow pages website. As well as the (not recommended reviews) below on yelp. I believe that there are still churches that actually care about helping people and doing good for the community and this is not one of them. read more

A secular friend who lives 3 miles from Celebration Church told me about this church in 2018. We made the trip and traveled 300 miles to experience Celebration Church and although we were already Christians it just captivated our heart. We love the Church, Pastor Joe Champion and the staff that we have met during our visits to Celebration. It is our home away from home and love to visit anytime we can make the drive from McAllen to Austin. The ironic thing is my secular friend, even though I keep telling him to go, has no idea what beautiful church and message he is missing. read more

Today was our first time to attend the Central Austin location. I hate the idea of "rating a church" but wanted to say a few positive things we noted. We loved how welcoming people were and the message was solid biblical content. My favorite part was the diversity of attendees from race to socioeconomics, which is a hard find in Austin. We also loved that the size of the church was small, because we dont want to get lost in a sea of people as we have at our previous church. Overall, we are looking forward to visiting again. I looked at some of the lower star reviews, and I am at a loss on how you see this church the way you do! I have been an active member for many years. Do we have our issues? We are humans with human instinct. This is why we go to speak with God in the first place. This church is without a doubt a life giving church! You can only get out what you put in. From the moment we walked in the doors to the sanctuary my husband and I both felt at home. After dropping our 5 younger children off to the amazing and beautiful kids place we sat down in the chairs and half way through service we both looked at each other and said- "this is our church"! We are a military family and have hopped around to many churches and never felt at home or like we belonged, until celebration. Pastor Joe and Lori are the spiritual Parents of the church and do an amazing job of bringing Jesus and the Holy Spirit into each service. I'm a big fan of this church. I've been here a handful of times, introduced to it through my wife's co-worker. It's a place I feel comfortable in, and inspired. I like the music. If it were a Catholic Church with the same atmosphere, I'd be here every week. Being that my family is Catholic, we attend mass elsewhere most Sundays, but every now and then, it's a fun thing to come to this church. Celebration Church Georgetown - Starting the Book of Daniel... with Pastor Daniel - Churches Near Me - Georgetown, Texas

A bible church in Georgetown. Large warehouse building complex. Big stage with lots of video cameras trained on the pastor. I didn't see any crosses... weird. Strong message of tithing 10% on income as it says in the bible (though I thought the New Testament says give what you can, Pastor Joe says it better be 10%!) Lots of music at the beginning of the service, then some pretty fancy commercials on the big screens for this and that. Finally Pastor Joe gives his interpretation of some part from the bible and tries to take on this Louisiana good ole boy persona and jokes quite a bit. Lots of talk about the internet too, twitter, facebook and such. It seems like he is trying almost too hard to appeal to a young crowd. This feels like a large production but not a spiritual one. The people of the church seem real nice and it is great spending time with them but the church scares me with its commercial nature. Other members tell me about how the pastor has a $700k house, $150k salary (not including what his family members make there) and a Navigator with all the bling. I'm not impressed. It seems to me that a person of God, following Jesus' lead would live a more modest lifestyle. I know he lives far above the means of 99% of the church, the same people who make his lifestyle possible. Now there is talk that his family is spouting off about how Obama is a terrorist and all that right wing crud. I can't recommend this church though the people who attend are nice. This church has a strong mission to grow but primarily to enrich the family who runs it. This is more of a business I would say. This is a shame because they could help so many more people if they didn't keep most of the tithe money for themselves (after covering overhead expenses). If you want to get closer to Jesus find a smaller church that is pastored by people with a true Jesus focus. read more

I will admit when my husband and I first went here we were a little timid because it was so huge! But as soon as we walked in the doors we were greeted several times and the ushers helped us find great seats. Then the praise and worship began and I could just feel the presence of God light up the room with beautiful lights and warmth. I knew in my spirit that this was my next church home and it was further confirmed when Pastor Joe began his sermon. The only way to preach is straight from the word of God! I Love That! My husband and I have now been going here for 4 months and have started attending their super fun Summer Saturdays and their wednesday night marriage small goup and we just keep on meeting so many wonderful people!
