I hope no other family goes through the horrifying experience that our family went through at this daycare. My 21 month old grandson had a hard time adjusting. Something just wasn't right. They had no compassion for him, and on more than one occassion they had him spend hours in the director's office. He came home hungry and thirsty. I believe that he was neglected when sent to the director's office. The staff lacks education and patience. My grandson was very sick. All the kids were sick. In two months, my grandson had to take antibiotics twice. He was out sick over 6 days. They asked him to leave because he cried and was scared when left there. They said he was disruptive because he cried and wanted to be with the teachers the whole time. The teachers did comfort him at times, but clearly it was too much to expect of them. There were just too many kids for them to care about the one that really needed extra care. It saddens me that I subjected my granson to this daycare. It upsets me that this was part of his first social experience with others. It angers me that my grandson was not wanted there, neglected, and rejected. It scares me that other children will be subjected to inadequate care. No child should go through the anxiety that my grandson experienced. Yes, it was partially his reaction, but no one there assured him that he was going to be okay. It breaks my heart that we entrusted them with our precious child and they didn't see his value. They didn't understand all the confidence we placed in them when we asked them to be part of our child's life. I have been a certified child care provider and my undergraduate degree is in Social Work. This daycare needs to make significant improvements for the wellbeing of the children in their care. Other people warned me, but we live so close and my grandson loved walking to school. In response: What director comments on financial matters? We did not pay the final bill due to neglect. I did pay for my grandson's medical expenses from being in care here. He never had one ear infection and was never on antibiotics prior to his care there. It was July through August, not exactly cold and flu season. I also did not file a police report. So, lets just call it even. read more

I have had 3 children attend Cedar Tree Montessori (two have moved to elementary public school and one is still attending Cedar Tree). We will be sending our toddler there as soon as she is old enough. We have been very happy with the care and education our children have received! As a former public school classroom teacher, education, care, staff, and environment have always been top priorities for me in selecting a suitable school. The facility is always clean and orderly. Almost daily, we receive worksheets, art, crafts, or projects that our children have completed. The results speak for themselves. Our oldest, entered public school with reading and math skills that were more than a whole school year ahead of her peers. My son, entered kindergarten reading at a second grade level, also with math skills well ahead of peers. Both continue to excel thanks to the foundation and instruction at Cedar Tree Montessori. All of the teachers, including Aly, Lorrie, Brittany, Melissa, and Dave are nurturing and caring. I have volunteered at the school and have seen their demeanor and work with the students. I can attest to their dedication to learning in a safe and fair environment. Two of our children have attended the Toddler Center. We have been very pleased with the care received. Mili and her team have created a place of fun and learning for the little ones. They are so caring and work so well as a team to provide the best, cleanest, and most beneficial learning environment possible. As I said earlier, we will be sending our fourth child here as well when she is ready. I also have to mention Debbie, the administrator of the facility. She has been so helpful and accommodating to us on multiple occasions. One example is when my mother-in-law became ill and was hospitalized. She immediately offered to watch our children full time at no additional cost (we were only going 3 days a week at that time) while our family worked through this difficult time. We have been so grateful for their flexibility and true caring for our family. I whole-heartedly give Cedar Tree Montessori School and Toddler Center my highest recommendation! read more

We love this childcare center. There are very few daycares in Prescott and even less that are lovable. Cedar Tree, run by a family and treated my wee little one like family. It is with disappointment and dismay that I write this review related to the Cedartree Montessori School. My children attended Cedartree for almost two years. Although many experiences have been positive, Spanish lessons with Miss Laurie, field trips to the Library and McKinley Field, growing potatoes in "germ jars" and the other things my children have enjoyed, the overall experience has not been satisfactory. My older child is an easy child. He thrives on structure and easily plays with others, shares and is generally shy and good-natured. He now attends public school and is doing very well. His brother, on the other hand is rambunctious, physical and head-strong. Both are good boys and know right from wrong. Lately, my younger child hasn't wanted to go to school. When I pick him up, there is often a note describing bad behavior. There never seems to be a situation involving others in the wrong-doing, just him. It is clear to me that discipline and structure are lacking at Cedartree. When I picked my son up today, I was told he was "dis-enrolled" and could not return. Miss Debbie told me he was a "bad" child. It is disturbing that a professional would not distinguish between behavior and the individual. If he misbehaved, his actions were bad, but "he" is not bad. Shame on Miss Debbie for not understanding that very important distinction. Miss Debbie yelled in front of my son about how bad he was. She claimed my parenting was in question, and made it clear that she wants him out of the school. She told me that she and the other parents and teachers wanted him "gone". What happened to the responsibility of schools to help build character in children. Where are the adults in this situation? It is with relief that I leave Cedartree Montessori behind. The behavior of Miss Debbie is anything but professional. I have doubts about the ability of the teachers to manage the children. My son is a very good boy. That doesn't mean he is shy, quiet and unassuming like his brother. He needs structure, gentle guidance and consequences. The only consequence he seemed to receive at Cedartree was banishment to an isolation room. I have learned that parenting is one of the greatest challenges God gives us. It is also one of the most rewarding. As we left Cedartree today, my son ran to give one of his teachers a hug, saying "good-bye, see you tomorrow". Well, we won't be seeing you tomorrow Cedartree, and good riddance! read more

I have had both my daughters at Cedar Tree as well as one of my nieces. I love the staff there, my children adore the teachers and the school. My older girl even begs to come back and visit. I am sure no one can always be pleased every time, but I am concerned that this is the second review I have written (which for unknown reasons does not appear) and only negative reviews show on Yelp. Cedar tree has taken great care with my children and my niece. They have always gone out of their way to help me and my family. They have excellent boundaries, which is also important, and I suppose some people do not like this, but it is essential in working with children. I could not recommend more highly a day care and Montessori. Considering I also have a background in child protection and working with at-risk youth, I am extremely careful with whom I entrust my children's care, and the people at Cedar Tree, in my opinion, are the best. read more

Both of my children attended this preschool and went into kindergarten fully prepared, socially and academically. We received personal care and attention from the director and teachers through our entire schooling. Adjustment to snack food due to a food allergy with one of my children was always respected. We still go back and visit occasionally and always recommend this preschool to friends. There is no better option in Prescott. read more

We had a wonderful experience with this school. Our son was enrolled there from age 2-3. We moved away from Prescott, otherwise he would still be going to school there. The teachers are very caring, considerate, and kind. They have great structure and routine in this program. The teachers always presented any issues to us very professionally. They were thorough and caring and my child always seemed well instructed and cared for there. Now with experience in other locations I see just how spoiled we were with Cedar Tree Montessori! Seriously, these teachers are mature and wonderful with the kiddos. I would recommend them to anyone in an instant! read more

After 3 years, now is probably the time for me to give my review of Cedar Tree Montessori: 3 years ago, we moved here from Phoenix, where both girls had been attending a private Montessori school in Tempe. We were unsure how a smaller town Montessori would stack up to "big city" and we were (and have continued to be) pleasantly surprised. Now, we've even enrolled our youngest in the toddler program, because of the consistency of care, the reasonable rates, the go-out-of-your-way helpfulness, and the pains that Miss Aly and the rest of their lovely staff have taken to work with our special needs children (diet, behaviors, challenges). They have encouraged progress in our children while providing an atmosphere that is both enjoyable and keeps the focus on what is pertinent to learning both socially and educationally. I am happy that we found them, and my only regret is that they do not go past kindergarten- still, this is an excellent path to beginning a school career! read more

We had a wonderful experience with Cedar Tree. Both of our girls attended the toddler program, preschool and kindergarten. Our girls loved all of their teachers, and especially enjoyed the Spanish program. Our oldest daughter now attends a tri-lingual school, and had no issues transitioning to her new school. Cedar Tree was a really good fit for our girls, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a preschool in the Prescott area. read more

I have two daughters who have been in multiple daycares during their short lives, due to us moving frequently. Cedar Tree Montessori is the best toddler/preschool we have been a part of. Though we don't live close, I drive my youngest here for school every day because we have had such a good experience. The best part about the school is that the teachers truly love the children, are patient, caring, and thoughtful. I have never seen a teacher yell at a child or lose their temperament. The teachers guide the children through compassion and positive directives. Whenever a child is upset or crying, they are given extra care, comfort, and tenderness. Ms. Mili and Ms. Claire are definitely in the right profession; it is clear they have each child's best interest at heart. Drop off has always been difficult for us, but without fail, they help ease the transition by cuddling and diverting my daughter's attention. I get a report each day regarding my child's ups-and-downs, successes, and challenges. They take time to talk to me about personalizing education and growth for my daughter. When we first started, I was impressed by how orderly the teachers operated the classroom, and the kids were all well behaved and respectful. The children all wash their hands when they arrive to school, and frequently throughout the day. Parents are kept well informed of any health concerns in the classroom and other issues which could be concerning. Any new staff members are well vetted and put on temporary probation to assure a great fit with the classroom dynamics. I spend at least 15-30 minutes a day in the classroom with my child, so I am well qualified to give this review. It is an excellent school. read more

Three of my grandchildren have gone to Cedar Tree Montessori. The oldest began when she was three and is now twelve and is excelling in sixth grade in the Honors Plus program. Her early learning experience at Cedar Tree was a huge stepping stone to her success in elementary school. My six year old granddaughter attended Cedar Tree for three years and absolutely loved it. She is now in kindergarten and is way above average in both her social and academic skills. And my four year old granddaughter started in the toddler program and attended the preschool for two years before she left when her family moved to Phoenix. She transitioned from a shy little baby into an outgoing preschooler because of the love and encouragement of her teachers. I would often pick up the girls after school and was always greeted by a very happy group of children who were interacting with the teachers in a very positive way. My granddaughters would always get a hug when they left and still love to stop by Cedar Tree to say hi. read more
