The fob and the fact that several of the tentants are police officers plus survalliance cameras put me at ease. You can choose to party or live a private life or do both. The screening process to live here is sufficient, with background checks, financial requirements and animal vaccination requirements to make me feel comfortable here. The facility is professionally managed and I have witnessed only prompt actions and service. No other apartment complex has the wow factor that this place has for the money. LML is a work in progress. In 1965, this now 100 year old building was listed as the largest manufacturing facility under one roof in the world! It takes time to develop all the bells and whistles that are planned. I feel confident all planned projects will be completed and look forward to living here and seeing them all come to pass.

There not only is drug use but drug sales going on here and they have been given all proof to do nothing but ignore it. They organize tenant socials with various themes throughout the year. The grounds are well maintained, it's clean, quiet, with decent amenities and has a workout room that will please even gym rats. The pool is area is really nice! It's new construction, so I don't have any real maintenance issues, but they seem to stay on top of things. It's not perfect, but I could have definitely done worse. Appliances and fixtures are low end, but get the job done. The paint one the walls is more of a primer, but this is pretty standard for the industry. Cleaning a smudge invariable removes paint from the wall. Some tenants don't clean up after their dog, but that's them, not the Apt complex. From What I've seen, most of the issues are caused by an inconsiderate tenant, but for the most part, I have good neighbors. The new tenant screening process seems to be working. The rent increase when Southwood purchased the property from the builder, Evolve, keeps me from giving 5 stars. Not cool. The office staff is great; they are always trying to help, but do have their hands tied by corporate in some circumstances. Again, pretty standard for any corporation really. Would I recommend it here? Yep! Just don't be an entitled, inconsiderate twat, and clean up after your dog!

On 9/2/2022 | submitted an application to this apartment complex with a section 8 voucher. I was…read morecalled back there to refill the application because I was told that the original one was lost. (There's countless people In the office at any given time and all of our important documents are constantly laying out in full access of anybody, with no staff present. I have observed this every time I was called back there). I filled it out again. I was called back two days later to fill out one of the papers again, this went on for a total of countless times, a few times a week for a couple months. The manager Janelle either would change or have me change the information that I put down and sign or initial. I made it to first on the move in list after a month. Due to racial discrimination Janelle ended up continuously calling me to make tiny changes to my application (like draw a line here or put a dot there) inorder to move people into apartments that were behind me and that held higher rank in Janelles words as having higher child tax credits then me, she continued to call me back and forth until she thought my section 8 voucher ran out. I was even given my apartment number. Past the background check and as she stated to me "had white folks credit". The third time that I was called in was to make a change on paperwork that was submitted in my first application (that they claim to have never found) Some of the paperwork was clearly copies which I never did. I was told to record and document all changes she made to my application and every meeting. Janelle bragged on how she just pacifies us and how she can sell water to a whale while determining if she likes each person or not and how she bases her decision to allow someone to move in based on that. During the second meeting I was asked if I was a Muslim or not, I replied yes and from that point every single thing on my application had to be changed a couple times because she stated that's how corporate wants it, When I told her if she changes that, it would not be true, she said that's how corporate said it's supposed to be. Eventually she called me back to change most of the documents back to what was originally written on them. While in the office on several of the countless returns Janelle would show me other peoples vital information and talk about everything in their files. One thing that caught me was one of the tenants across from the office had a boyfriend and Janelle was angry and told us she was going to put the lady out because had a boyfriend (not living there but simply because she had a boyfriend). When we went to look at vacant apartments that were for viewing, people are using them to sleep in and use the facilities. People were hanging in the halls near the doorway entrance. The office noticed that I kept notes and recordings so they would call me from different numbers and no caller ID. Janelle never intended to give me an apartment, it was very clear that she didn't like me from day 1, so she told me that it would take along time for me to get an apartment during the first month but someone informed her that I was first up on the wait list and an apartment was available for me. I'm not sure what she's doing with people's information but I do know that it is being copied and goes missing quite frequently. I was told the some of the files had to go home with them inorder to get them filed. If you're experiencing this problem, you need to report it. When I called and asked for the owners or management information, they refused to give it to me.
