I ordered based on the reviews of the wings. I called in an order of 12 wings (6 plain 6 Buffalo) and a double cheeseburger. The person taking my order made sure to ask what type of cheese I wanted, I stated cheddar and she said my order was going to be ready in 20 mins. There is a parking lot right next to the establishment so it's not hard to find a spot. I picked up my food and charged it and the bar waitress asked did I want to leave a tip because the machine doesn't allow you to leave one after she runs the card. I'm always confused about tipping on my to go orders...I usually leave a dollar or two but please don't ask me for it. I left her two dollars cash and was on my way. I get back to the hotel and the burger doesn't have any cheese!!!!!!!!! NO CHEESE!!! I asked for a cheeseburger with cheddar cheese and got a dry ass hamburger with no cheese!!! The wings were okay...they are whole wings so that's always good! A nice size and I liked the flavor of the buffalo sauce. The plain wings were better the buffalo wings were soggy. I got extra buffalo sauce and dipped my plain wings in the sauce. I also got a salad but she didn't give me any silverware. WHAT WAS THE TIP FOR?? I got no cheese and no silverware and she got $2. We thought, for the price, it's a great neighborhood bar. The $8 pitchers are a great touch for local residents. Breakfast is cheap and not terribly greasy. The hashbrowns o'brien are fantastic. It's dive-y, sure, but they're very friendly to outsiders. Only downside? Oftentimes they don't have more than one game on and they are always confused on which channel has the local game. I popped into the Cedar recently and had breakfast. I got some breakfast combo with hashbrowns O'Brien, topped with two over-easy eggs and some bacon and toast on the side. Considering I'd never been in here and had no idea what to expect, the Cedar Inn did pretty well for itself on the food tip. The servers were friendly and you could tell they were owners or longtime employees; refills were handled well. The amount of food you get is also extremely good for the money. Oh yeah, the Blood Mary I had was OK, nothing special. They make em with sake because it's in the no-booze zone. It could've been heavier on the sake for my taste. I really hate the Nascar decor of this place and the video games and other monstrosities they have decorating the joint are somewhat hideous. But as a place to grab some food or a few beers I could definitely dig it. It looks like a dump from the outside and it's definitely a dive but it has some charm. read more

Have you seen Making a Murderer? I grew up in Manitowoc County (Wisconsin) and if you are a fan of the show and want to maybe know what Manty is like, but you live in South MPLS, you should go to this place. It's more or less like stepping across time and space and re-locating yourself in hick-ville small town Wisconsin bar. Even the people who eat there. Alternatively, are you a Trump supporter? I think this might be where Trump-ers go. It just has that NASCAR feel. I live just two blocks away. I thought this place was bigger inside and different but didn't read the reviews before I went after church with my girlfriend for lunch on Sunday. We walked over and when you get past the door that has these massive weird locks on them, you step into "someone else's bar." That's how it felt. Food was a little over-priced, my opinion. Girlfriend ordered breakfast (which we were surprised was served) and i ordered a California Burger but instead was given a regular cheeseburger. I didn't send it back, as we were getting quite a few looks from the "regulars" and were even stared at strangely by the older lady and man who must run the joint. Maybe we were being glared at because we didn't order beers? Neither the cheese curds nor the fried mushrooms had much taste. Fries? Dripping grease - no salt. Cheeseburger was okay, very very greasy, but i expected that. Then, i gave the lady my credit card without being given the bill. She ran my card and brought back the slip but said "you don't need to sign anything." Really? No line for writing in a tip? Are you too good for my charity or what? I did some quick math in my head, without ever seeing a bill to think if the tip might have been included. It wasn't. So i felt stupid, so i went to the ATM and paid the 2.75 $$ fee and got $20 and then had to have her make change for me so i could leave a tip... Super awkward. Good place close to home for a beer and bar food. Expect a rowdy crowd of locals on any night of the week. We showed up on a Wednesday and were greeted by a group of hammered older people. Also stopped by on a Thursday and it was a new even more drunk group. We both had some food none of it was great but none of it was bad. The beer was good and you can't ask for much more in a place like this. Also next time I might want to try some of the pterodactyl wings they are claiming are from chickens next time we run through. read more

I live in the neighborhood and have always had an appreciation for dive bars. I went in here on a whim to snag an Irish Car Bomb on St. Patrick's Day with my husband, thinking it looked like the perfect dive to throw one back in. Only to find out they don't have liquor. They do have wine, beer, and sake. Sake? Ok... I had a "Premium", whatever that is. It was $2.50, and it was in a legit frosted mug. Which was fun. Honestly, I want to love this place in a nasty sort of way, because the people working there were SO nice and it had that small town, Nascar loving feel. But I didn't love it. It's cheap, servers and cooks are friendly, it's in my neighborhood and the wings are awesome!!! Highly recommend the "Sticky Asian" wings. They are huge whole chicken wings, so 6 is a lot!! Perfect to split an order with a friend and wash down with a beer or two. Love coming here for the people watching too! Total locals crowd, complete lack of diversity (odd for this area). I love this place. You've got it all: customers' Harley pics on the walls, Nascar light fixtures, amatuer karaoke... It's like a dream come true! A great neighborhood bar. A bit of a dive bar, but if you stop buy more than a handful of times you will quickly become a "regular". Bar and wine only keeps those away who want cocktails, but they are missing out on some great fun, very reasonable prices and good bar food. The Cedar is known for their chicken wings which are great in either buffalo or Asian flavors. Beer bottle specials on Tuesdays, and in addition to the wings they make a great Philly steak sandwich, and quality bar burgers. Wanted to love this place so badly given I live right down the street. Every time I go there the beer is cheap and the wings are amazing, but I hate that they've gotten rid of the dart board (even though it didn't work half the time) and replaced it with some spider man punching machine. Really? I'd love to see an old school bar with old school games that don't involve pretending I'm a superhero. This is a solid, simple neighborhood bar: no bells and whistles needed. The place isn't nearly dilapidated or dirty enough for me to call it a dive. I'll have to go with the other review which more aptly describes it as an "old school bar" where the crowd tends be older as well. The happy hour is good and they have double shots of sake for $5.50, which seems out of place considering the locale, so of course I had to get that. I think the bartenders there have a totally different definition of what constitutes a ""shot" because what I got was a big red dixie cup filled pretty much halfway with sake. this is my neighborhood dive and I love it! we live 2 blocks away and one of my fav things to do after work in the summer is grab the man and the dogs and walk over for pitches outside at the picnic tables. The beer is cheap and cold, the staff could not be more amazing, and the other patrons are always friendly and fun. they love our pups and always bring out water for them, and usually a treat or two. we love that they have the frozen core pitchers to keep the beer cold on hot days. the wings are delicious, and HUGE!! none of those puny little one-bite wings here, these are the real deal chicken wings. dont often go inside, but hear the silver strike machine is good times! read more

Saturday night. Not our first time eating here. The sign on the side of the building indicated 'new owners' and should have been our first clue. Definitely understaffed, or something. Many people coming in to order and picking up orders. Even with social distancing, every table was filled. The service was very slow. We ordered burger baskets, nothing fancy or special. I'm trying to be patient because we are in a different world these days. An hour later we finally received our food. Fries were less than half done. The burger's, supposedly 1/3 lb were much smaller than the bun, which has never been the case in past experiences. Server never came back. Had to go to the bar to get salt and pepper and tell the server that the fries weren't done. 10 minutes later the cook brought us more fries that were perfect. All in all, I was disappointed, however, the hamburger and 2nd set of fries tasted amazing! read more

Was super happy to find Broasted Chicken in the cities. Ordered seasoned wings which came out with a thick coating of heavy spice. I like seasoned wings but you couldn't see the chicken and when we picked up a wing, the seasoning fell off in clumps. I also like domestic tap. The beer was so flat it tasted like cider. I went on a Tuesday, and it was a cool, even-keel, nice crowd. The jukebox was playing mostly country music, but good country, including some original Hank Williams. The bartender could not have been more friendly while still being a pro. I had a half-order of chicken wings, and they were the largest wings I've ever eaten, and they were delicious, too. And, get this: I had four Miller High Lifes ($1.50 every night), the wings, a half-order of fresh-cut fries (also very good), and my bill was $16. That's tough to beat. It's not a big place, seats maybe 10 at the bar, a few tables in the middle, and about 5 table/booths along the back wall. But's a good place to go. read more

I've been here once before but after I witnessed an employee go out of his way to come into another restaurant and extremely rudely (and under the instructions of his boss) harass a delivery driver who did not see the sign that the area he parked in was for the business only I will not be returning. It was clearly a simple and honest mistake made by the delivery driver who mind you is literally only parked for less than 5 minutes.
