Me and my friend went here, and this was the first time we had been to a club like this, to say we were a little uncomfortable to start with isn't an understatement but one of the girls came over and started chatting to relax us into it all she was pleasant and after a few minutes, and we d told her we didn't know how this worked she explained the basics so we went and had them dance like one of the above reviews said its not that private as every dance takes place in an open room, after this dance we sat outside the room and two other girls came across and sat with us, chatted for a while and we re very friendly and welcoming, however felt like they just wanted us to pay for a dance which is the only reason i marked it a star down, cause it all then felt a little false however after the dance which was very good i know my friend enjoyed a lot, they left and moved on to the next client over all the girls are very good looking and welcoming can spend a fair bit of money in a short amount of time but would definitely go back, bar staff didn't seem to chatty as well definitely an 8/10 read more

This used to be a great club. Attractive girls would come round with a pot to put a pound in every 30mins or so and then do a sensual pole-dance. If you wanted to, you could also pay for a private dance. During this period, me and my friends became what you could call 'regulars'. Then a few years ago everything changed. No more entertaining pole dances (just a few minutes of casual and dismissive parading) and ugly women hassling you constantly for an over-priced lap-dance. The women now are just hustlers. Ugly old cows with tattoos and scars. We go there very occasionally just to see if it has reverted to its former greatness. So far we have been disappointed. I can only give this seedy dump a star as it's the only (allegedly) pole-dancing club in Chelmsford. 5-6years ago I would have given it the full 5 stars. I've been to the Cave a number of times and it is what it is. A lap dancing club. Ok, the 'pole-dancing' in only a side attraction and does not compare to the clubs you get in London (check Browns out and Metropolis near Shoreditch, The Griffin etc) but the rest is fine. Free to enter before 10pm and £5 after. The drinks are reasonably priced too. Yes, you do get the girls coming to talk to you and ask you if you want a private dance (not really that private when you can see every other dance in there to which is a good thing, right?) but they are polite and will chat to you if you just want to drink but hell, you are not there just for the booze, yeah? They are only doing their job, so with that in mind, go in there with a have-a-good-time attitude and you will not be disappointed. Enjoy! read more

Just went to the cave for the first (and last) time it seemed ok when we got in there, we were a group of about 12 or so, the girls came up and chatted which was fine BUT this one tall ginger girl seemed to forget its the punters money that keeps her in a job. . She basically was rude and obnoxious and went on to say WHY DONT YOU DO US ALL A FAVOUR AND GIVE ME £20 SO YOUR MATE CAN GET A DANCE! I did say to her that she was being offensive but she basically said I dont care I dont get paid to be f*ckin polite. .to be honest it made a bad impression on the whole night and I will be calling 'the cave' soon to register my complaint and hopefully she will be sacked. .
