Great shop! The owner Brian is really nice, and every Saturday they have magic nights or Pokemon days, and they have a great selection.

If you're a child of the 70s-90s, chances are you'll find a toy you had in their shop. They have a wonderful selection of toys, collectibles, records, DVDs, comic books, and video games. It's always a pleasure to come here and shop. The staff is friendly as well.

For collectibles I will say they have a huge amount of items you would expect at a place like this + more. There is a massive and I mean massive selection of Blu Ray and dvds at this location and for good prices, however I will question one thing and that is for the TNA three pack dvd that goes for $35 and then WWE PPVs go for $5 a piece as for thiose prices doesn't make sense and I believe that it would for for $15 since it is three TNA PPVs in the set. For games they have a massive lot not G2K Games in Norton massive, but massive none of the less with prices being good, fair, to overpriced that emulation seems reasonble at this point prices like for example one Dreamcast game for for $100 and at that point if someone told me they paid that price point I would have to show them emulation at that point. Let me remind businesses that do this that you are hurting the consumer that knows better as well as the business and it makes me sad to see such a thing be a big deal with retro video game youtubers and things like WATA grading bring this mentality to these peoples minds even when WATA grading got debunked for showing how they overcharge based on grading. Finally lets go on about service. They are nice people and I have no Ill will towards them and I hope they don't take my review as an attack against the them, but more so an advice to the them as I want to see this place succeed and achieve their vision of what they want in the future. overall a 3.5/5 stars and will visit again.

We like Mast and always enjoy the products and atmosphere. We drove on our road trip to Johnson City, Tennessee from our home near Winston-Salem. It was getting late so we noted the location and decided to stop on our return trip home when we anticipated we would have more time. We arrived in the early afternoon of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and after following the line of cars to the back parking lot, we were amazed to see how many people were there! The small front parking area was full and the much larger rear parking lot was almost full. We did not think it was possible that everyone was visiting the general store, partly because it looks much smaller from the outside. As we walked toward the rear porch entrance, there was a Boy Scout Troop making kettle corn with a large kettle, butter, sugar, salt and corn and stirring it with a big paddle. It smelled delicious and we knew we needed to buy some on our way back to the car. After entering the building, we could see the entire parking lot contained all those people inside the general store, it was very busy but it appeared they had an adequate amount of employees. Mast features outdoor gear, home decor, knives, shoes, clothing, gift related items and food. They also have a large barrel candy area. We picked up a few things we felt we could not live without. On our way out, we purchased a bag of the kettle corn from the Boy Scouts and enjoyed munching on it while also supporting a good cause. It was so delicious with the combination of butter and sugar. A definite treat that we hadn't eaten in a long time. The original store is a must stop if you are driving through the area. We also recommend stopping at any of their other locations as well. They have many items you may not find elsewhere.

Away from that small shoe building, half each for men and women, we went to the main building a seemingly turn of the century wooden floored building where there is a candy section and, yes, I bought some old time candy, which was $5.99 a pound as I recall. Lots of old time kitchen utensils, ceramic cookware, kid's toys, hunting and outdoor wear. Then to the main hiking and hiking shoes for men where they had some which were 25% off. Jim, a clerk, came up as I was looking around and politely asked if he could help me find something in the Keen shoes I was poking through. Told that I was looking for an 11 1/2 size, but there were no half sizes. As sometimes shoes can run a bit large he asked if I wanted to try on an 11 and he would go look for an 11 1/2 if the 11 would not fit. I had just determined that the 11 wasn't for me, and Jim came back. Now you know how I came to purchase my Keen Targee IV WP MEN, size 11.5 at 25% off. Checking us out was another friendly, chatty and efficient employee (as all of their folks are) named Rhonda. Like I said, you "just gotta" visit, and maybe spend a few bucks. We did!

It had the aroma of books -- old books, to be precise. It's in a nondescript strip center and is very ordinary looking from the outside. It has a warehouse feel. Walking in, I could tell it wasn't what I was expecting -- a warehouse -- but more of a treasure trove of books, vinyl, DVDs, comic books, sheet music, and a few miscellaneous antiques. I can't say I figured out how it was set up, certainly by section, but there were hardcovers and paperbacks of many genre scattered. Or at least it seemed that way. Each section was roughly sorted alphabetically by author, so that made searching easier. I didn't see a lot of duplication in titles. I had only a limited amount of time before they closed. It was a kid-in-a-candy-store moment; too much to explore and limited to what I could grab in the short window of time I had available. It wasn't nearly enough to do the exploring I wanted. But, with that said, I did manage to pick up a couple of titles I haven't seen by authors I have and that was a win for me. As with most used bookstores, the price is about half of the cover price, except for the first edition, rare books, or collectibles. It's a good place to try out a new author or series without the financial commitment of a new bookstore; or if you want to try your luck with the comic books or vinyl. There's a separate display case of Elvis recordings and memorabilia -- this is Tennessee, after all, and I'd expect nothing less. Just a fun store all around.
