I usually love Cava but the food at this location left me disappointed. The grilled chicken was extremely spicy, which was not indicated. I don't mind a little spicy but this was really spicy (more than your usual Mexican) so I couldn't even eat the chicken. Unfortunately for me, they were very generous with the chicken so I couldn't eat half of my salad (picture). It's completely fine to have spicy food but I think that this is something customers should be informed about. Also, there was an olive spit in my salad that nearly broke one of my tooth (picture). Staff was very nice and friendly though. UPDATE: Cava's management reached out to me to address the issues mentioned in my review and offered solutions to make up for the problems I encountered. CAVA is a welcome addition to the premium salad selection in the city. I was a loyal fan of sweetgreen until recently, when circumstances put a CAVA close to where I was going frequently (the Bryant Park location). The Spring Street location however is closer to home, although not really within walking distance. The CAVA experience is fairly simple. You pick from a green, grain or combo bowl (not counting the pita/soup options). You get to pick the dips and spreads (three), a protein (falafel for me) and toppings (unlimited). It is similar to sweetgreen but, in general, more flavorful and somewhat less healthy. They also sell their line of products such as feta and hummus that I haven't bought separately. Their app is very easy to use. The alternative--standing in line for 15 minutes or more during lunch hour in Midtown--is daunting. CAVA needs more locations. Also, they are in the process of changing their rewards program and in-store payment options. As with many medium-size businesses, they might end up compromising greatness for profitability but I'd rather get my CAVA when I can than see them go under. read more

I frequently order delivery from this Cava, but almost every time they mess up not just one thing but multiple. I have tried different delivery apps thinking maybe the app messed it up, but no it seems to be the employees. And whatever you do, do not order using the CAVA app as their policy is to only give back 15% of the order cost. I spent $18 on a bowl that was truly laughable and was missing almost everything including the meat and I got less than $3 back. At least DoorDash gives an adequate refund. Just save the trouble and order from a different location. And Cava maybe change your borderline offensive refund policy. read more

I go halfsies on salad base (Splendid and Super Greens) as well as main (Chicken and Seasonal Veg), get a ton of toppings, go Green Harissa dressing, and take the mini pita when offered. Also, getting a 'water cup' here means you can fill up on the dimply, high-surface area crunchy ice (max chill and so nice to munch on) and soda water from the fountain drinks. read more

The lentils are a great base option because they have protein and are super filling. You can also go halvsies on the protein choice (I do chicken and falafel!) 2) Stack up the toppings! They are unlimited. You can also ask for double on your favorites! 3) Ordering online is key. There's usually a line at peak lunch hour, so make your order online so you can just pick up. 4) Get the dressing on the side, that way the bowl won't get soggy. 5) I always make my Cava last for two work lunches. Don't get rid of the lid until you're sure you're gonna finish the bowl. 6) You can ask for a free small pita on the side! I missed out on this my first time in because I didn't know it was a thing! this was my second time ever going to cava; my first time was at their union square location, so i wanted to give this one a try. -no outdoor dining, but i think you're allowed to eat indoors -cash and card both accepted -available for pick up or delivery by ordering through their website. -the service here is amazing as well. the person who was making my bowl was super friendly and patient with my while i was trying to decide what i wanted. -i think that their overall portion of food is definitely less here compared to their union square location, but it enough for a filling meal. 5/23/21 -greens + grains bowl: i decided to build my own bowl with half supergreens, half brown rice, tzatziki, red pepper hummus, grilled chicken, romaine, cabbage slaw, tomato & cucumber, pickled onions, fire roasted corn, and tahini caesar on the side. i was originally worried that the red pepper hummus would be too spicy for me, but it honestly wasn't spicy at all for me. i loved how the grilled chicken was seasoned and cooked just the right amount. not to mention, the vegetables tasted fresh and added a nice texture to every bite. the portion isn't as big as the bowl i got from union square, but i don't really have any other complaints. the total came out to be a little over $12 including tax, which was still worth it imo. I again got the blueberry lavender ice tea which was very refreshing. This layout of this location was all business (ordering that delicious food) once you walk in and then you can get distracted by your seating options lol. We ate in the outdoor space at this location which was really neat & tidy. There was also space upstairs to eat your food. I'm really enjoying this establishment and can't wait to bring more people I know to the location closer to me! By the way, these meals can DEFINITELY be divided in half. Food was fresh and prepared in front of you as you move down the line Chipotle-style. Portion size was humongous. For its price ($11), its definitely worth it for the amount of food you're getting. Chicken bowl was amazing. Had mine over a bed of rice, one of every topping and crisps to add an extra crunch to my meal. You can also do half chicken/falafel if you'd like, for the same price. This location offers 2 levels of seating as well as an outdoor seating area in the rear for those warmer days. Staff were friendly and helpful. Venue was pretty big and had plenty of seating.
