Central or CBC as its known is a fab church, really great. I went there for years until about 2…read moreyears ago. It is a real living breathing church with a vibrant life and represents people of all ages and walks of life. It is true to the bible with sold teaching and ministries and great kids work. The worship (by that I am referring to music in this context) is a mixed bag wth some organ and some modern praise band stuff. It is a large church with a few hundred members and is currently extending its building and adding an extension which will allow it do even more in the local community. For my taste it is not charismatic enough as I prefer the gifts of the spirit (and by that I am referring to prophecy, tongues etc) to be in use within services and also the music is not new enough for my taste. However, I still love it very much and it is a wonderful church for a new or mature christian or of course non christian looking for a warm, supportive and challenging christian home

Really cool ruins of the cathedral and grounds. We enjoyed wandering around here for an hour or…read moremore while in town for the day. Love all the signs that were around, showing us how the cathedral would have looked in the past or pointing out a wall or some such thing. The views from the walls of the graveyard are pretty. Lots of scaffolding and fencing around parts due to old gravestones potentially falling over and such. But still worth a visit if you're around. Best of all, they were free to enter.

We saw ancient engravings on a tombstone. Some walls are intact; others are long gone. To see the best views; there's a tower with 162 steps. If you just roam the place, it is free. We spent about 40 minutes exploring.

Very peaceful and beautiful. This place is a gem! Beautiful green space in the middle of a busy town! Such peace here. What blows me away is that in 1776 while some of these gravestones were being carved. Back in America, our forefathers were signing the Declaration of Independence! Wow! Mind boggling! These tucked away areas are breathtaking, even if it's morbid to some. I find this type of historical spots of tremendous value. A number of inscriptions offer a philosophy on death itself rather than discussing the person interred. It's actually kinda weird. The Nine Trades posted on many of the graves from my research were, Weavers, Tailors, Shoemakers, Glovers or Skinners, Bakers, Fleshers or Butchers, Dyers, Bonnetmakers and Hammermen. Some of the old names are no longer used. A "flesher"is now known as a butcher. A "hammerman" included anyone who worked with a hammer to fashion their work. Today they would be known as a blacksmith. When walking around the Howff you'll see that the gravestones tell a story. They describe the social history of the area and events going on at that time. Really interesting. I highly recommend a stroll through this cemetery! August 2023

If you're looking for more information about this church the service starts at 10am and there is a website that you can visit if you are curious about anything. if you do ever go there yourself I'm sure you will have a very good time even if you aren't religious it's just a lovely experience.

This church is only moments up the road from me and is very old fashioned and probably how you…read moretypically expect a church to be. The hall is fine but again a typical church hall, not modern, clean or suitable for today in my book but probably is fine for the Guides or Scouts or whatever. It also runs a playgroup but I was not impressed so only went once. Church services are traditional and not particularly well attended. It is Church of Scotland and I don't know how evangelical but I go to City Church and it is fab and really preaches what churches should - Craigiebank church - I'm not so sure. Its also not that attractive a church - ugly building. They do table sales regularly but I have been twice with a table and you end up losing money.
