I have been seeing Sharon Elizabeth for my skincare since 2001. She is simply amazing. The level of detail in the cleaning of the skin, she also has state of the art equipment for toning and deep cleaning. She is always professional, cares deeply and passionately about her line of work, and always supplements her knowledge through on going education of the world of nutrition, skin care and the latest technologies for anti aging and skincare. I have occasionally had to go to other facialist when traveling for business, etc, and I am always so painfully aware of how spoiled I am to having found such an extraordinary talent who actually cares about how my skin looks. I am 54 and I constantly get comments that I look like I am much younger and I know this is due to my regimen of cleaning, good nutrition and going to a specialist like Sharon. What I got was rough treatment from someone I suspect has real personal problems., my upper arm still hurts, when I questioned what the machine she was using she got annoyed and said to me " well just forget it" . She was in and out the whole time, never explained what she was doing. All in all I thought their was something wrong with her and could not wait to get out of there. Wow, it's been far too long to even get back on this shit train of a review for this woman. I never mentioned that after I wrote my first review, she called my place of employment and left a voice mail beraiding me to management about how I ruined an event she allegedly held there. She used a fake name and obviously fictious allegations to make me look bad. Get a life! And a few days ago, I get an email that someone has sent me a Yelp compliment. This time, it's her again but with another Yelp account....and come to see that this person also left a 1 star rating for my old place of employment saying that the "Asian events coordinator" ruined her event by flirting with her husband and that I made a fool of myself. Here's the thing, when everyone else has less than a 1 star rating for you, you should quit your day job. Clearly you are not even close to being a suitable and qualified esthetician. Stop harassing past clients who are being honest about your shady business and find another hobby. Seriously, stop harassing people. It's immature and shameful. read more

Update: This woman called my home number the same day she responded to my review and started going off on me! She also threatened to find out what I do for a living and write fake reviews about me. Wow - I have never had an experience like that. I'm glad I didn't pay with a check so she'd have my home address too! I'm flabbergasted. I don't do bad reviews, but this was definitely my worst facial experience ever (many reasons echoing some of the other comments) . The worst part for me was that she had promised the facial was all organic and when I discovered it wasn't, she lied about it. I had already tipped her because I never don't tip (although less than I would have, due to a variety of factors that made it a less than enjoyable experience), but I regret giving her anything. I wouldn't even give this person a star. It was truly the worst experience. Her bed and towels are not clean (I really felt like she used the towels and bedding from the person before me. However, that's not the worst of it. She uses her fingers and pad of her palm to rub a very rough and dry mud-like substance on your face. My face was so red and irritated for 2 days. I should have gotten up and left so I can only blame myself for having sat there enduring it. I have had beautiful facials elsewhere. This is NOT a qualified person. I bought a Groupon for a 90 minute facial last year. She wasn't exactly warm and fuzzy, but I didn't have any problems with booking, and the facial itself was actually quite good. My skin felt soft, clean, and deeply moisturized. One caveat is that she massages product all the way up to the hairline, and your hair ends up greasy. However, she did explain that people tend to miss the skin around their hairline - which I suspect is the reason why she goes up that high. I think it's safe to say that you have to go directly home afterwards. I'm a little skeptical to go back because every other Yelp review sounds horrific, but considering how good my skin looked afterwards, I just might. read more

I had not planned on writing a review. I figured my not tipping voiced my discontent. However, after a very professional text message in the middle of the night by the makeup artist thanking me for a review that was not actually mine I figured I would oblige. I met with her for a makeup trial run for my wedding (just me not the entire bridal party). Overall, I was okay with the results. My only issue was that my eye makeup just seemed entirely too heavy. She requested I provide any comments to her and send her any additional pictures of makeup that I would like for the day of my wedding. I did just that and hoped we could find a happy medium between what I saw in my head and what she actually put on my face. On 3 August, she punctually showed up at the hotel to do the bridal party's makeup. She did a lovely job on the ladies, in my opinion. One of the girls was upset but when I took a picture of her and showed her how great she looked (even if the makeup appeared heavy in person) she was happy. Sharon explained this to me previously when I commented on the thickness of the makeup during my trial run. As for my makeup, I just do not think we see eye to eye on what looks good on my face. She did a great job blending my makeup on cheeks, neck, etc. She came with her own products but I opted for my own products so I could touch up my face later if necessary. However, my eyes still looked entirely too made up. I just was not happy with them. My eyebrows were entirely too dark (I realized afterwards that she had not used my eyebrow pencil but her own). My eye makeup was just too much. It was too thick and covered my entire eye. There was no subtle blending. Not to mention the eyelashes she applied, while lovely, did not even stay on 3 hours. Good thing I did not cry because they would have been off during the ceremony. Had time permitted I would have asked her to redo the eye makeup. Unfortunately, there was not enough time to fix my makeup. This was not due to the makeup artist but part of her crew. Due to poor time management, I was actually late to my own wedding. While some people do not consider this a big deal I do. I received mixed reviews on my makeup at the wedding. It ran from "It looks nice" to "You can give a drag queen a run for their money." I can laugh about it now but it was not quite so funny on my way to my wedding. read more

I have been getting compliments on my skin right away! Yes it is a little rough, but that is what it takes to get off the old skin for the new skin to come through underneath. Do not pay any attention to the other bad reviews- they must be from the kind of people that never are "happy" with anything and love to complain......Sharon was great! I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. I've been to Sharon for facials twice and had great experiences both times. However, I would not describe her style as "relaxing". Just as there are different types of massage; relaxing, therapeutic, etc.; there are different types of facials. I would describe this type as results oriented. The goal is skin improvement, which isn't necessarily relaxing. None of the procedures or products used were painful, but some were uncomfortable- but since I wasn't trying to take a nap, it's ok. I did have some skin flaking off for the next couple days, but after that, I got SEVERAL comments that my skin looked really good. That's what I want in a facial- results. I just had to write in. I love facials and get them at least once a month so I know what to expect. I also like finding new places and helping out small businesses. I made the mistake of not yelping this place and boy was I sorry. This line of work is not for her . Sharon just doesn't have any people skills so she rubs you the wrong way from the beginning- a little gruff. There isn't any type of consultation with you to discuss your issues - like allergic reactions- skin type etc..she gives you an old towel - puts you in a crammed tiny room and starts putting "stuff" on your face . You have no idea what she is doing and to be honest you are a little intimidated by her to even say anything because you are afraid she will chew you out ! Seriously. She gets product in your hair, lips and eyes so you are a mess when you leave. It's very loud in the room because she shares space with a hair salon and there is fake type of wall so if you are thinking of relaxing - good luck. The topper of the treatment is when she put a acid solution on my face for a peel-!! Peel? I never asked for a peel. I have no wrinkles and I'm fairly young so when she said I might feel a burning sensation - I was very worried. She then used some scrapper device and was going over the same spots over and over to the point where it became painful. Oh it gets better.. Then she put some steamer machine on my face with a dirty eye mask and left the room for about 20 minutes- I was dying from the heat and almost had to get up and leave the room. It was a very hot day. Did I forget to mention that after she is finished she puts a heavy creme on your "clean" face only to have her mention it's professional makeup? Yes, heavy caked on makeup- I looked like a drag queen . Thank heavens I had baby wipes in the car and put them to good use. This experience was ridiculous . Shame on me for not doing my homework first and looking into her first . My bad. After reading her responses to other yelpers- I am sure she will have a harsh response- but I'm expecting it- it's par for her course. This was really disappointing. I've had facials done for the better part of 10 years and this was like nothing I've ever experienced. The room was small and cold. She gave me no skin consultation although I was a first time client. Strange.. Even stranger she had no facial steamer anywhere in sight. The "facial" was super rough and at no point did she explain what exactly she was putting on my skin. At one point I politely explained that the "mask" was very itchy and she aggravatingly explained to me that "it was a healing mask, and that's how it's supposed to be".. Ugh seriously? Rude. She completely ruined my eyebrows which just needed cleaning up.. Not reshaping. After she did them she even mentioned that one was "thinner" than the other and shrugged it off!! To top it off she gave me a rash on my forehead which I am going to the derm for tomorrow. Oh and lastly I have to mention that she had no sink in her room and was using room temp water out of a bucket on my face and at no point did she, lets say, "refresh" the water. This facial was very distressing. I tried not to cry during the last half. It was confusing, because usually a facial feels like positive self care. She was abrupt--rude would not be on overstatement. I just kept telling myself that she's in a bad mood and not to take it personally. But her facial was actually painful. I have sensitive skin, and she was downright rough. In my mind I was wondering if it was a new 'thing' I just wasn't used to, but I finally was just so upset about how she was treating me that I described it to my husband (yes, It was so bad of an experience I really needed to talk about it even with a guy) as 'face rape'. I kept debating whether I should be firm with her, or shrug the experience off. As I was leaving, I was in so much turmoil, I could barely look at her. At that point, she gave me eye contact for the first time, and said she wouldn't charge me. That's when I realized that she knew she was being abusive. Truly one of the worst experiences ever for what was meant to be a nice gift to myself. This was a while ago, but when I saw an email from Groupon for her services, I thought I'd check her ratings, and am quite surprised to see that while the treatment I received may have been rougher than some of the others, that there is something seriously wrong with her 'usual' pattern. I'm saying this not to be unkind to her, but as a cautionary tale. It's a good price, but even when she didn't charge me, I felt ripped off. I was ready to report her to the state licensing board or DA, but when she declined payment without my even asking her to do so, I thought my case was the exception.
