I usually don't review banks unless they give me really bad service, but after enough awesome trips…read moreto this bank I thought it was necessary that I give them 5 stars today. This bank has private parking so my car feels safe when I come here. It's on 5th avenue (near hillcrest) but it's in a location that hardly ever gets super busy... I swear I can't remember a time when I have actually waited at this bank. It's always quiet inside and all of the employees are polite. Best part is they seem to only want to help me with exactly what I ask for... Unlike Wells Fargo where I swear they even try to send employees to speak with me about new accounts even when I'm on the ATM outside. Today, Melina Perez, a personal banker, greeted me quickly because the tellers were busy when I walked in. She promptly helped me with my account issues and even took care of my basic requests so I wouldn't have to head over to the tellers as well. She was very polite and did not push all sorts of other accounts on me. I know this sounds like just a normal visit, but I must say that all I ever want when I go to the bank is a quick transaction and polite bankers, and I always get that here.

I want to make a formal complaint about a interaction I just had at my bank branch…read more I had just been notified that my identity was stolen and I had tried calling my bank to report it and see what charges were made to my account and the next steps I should take on my accounts. My call kept dropping when they transferred me to the right department on the phone so I just went into my normal bank branch. I first approached a gentleman at the counter to let him know what had happened and what he thinks I should do. He asked for my basic information and told me to have a seat while someone would help me. A woman (Claudia ) then approached me and asked how she could help. I was a tad panicked already and frustrated that the initial phone calls had kept dropping and explained this to her. She looked at me and said that doesn't sound right and I said agreed. She then asked for my ID to look at my account which I gave her. She then asked for charged amounts and dates. I explained I didn't have exact times / dates but I had the dollar amounts. She said she couldn't find any of those amounts. I asked her have you checked all my linked accounts with chase. She replied NO you have to do that I can't do that it's your bank. I said you can't enter the amounts and it doesn't search my transactions history to see if any of these amounts have been charged and I handed her my phone with a list of all The charges we were looking for as I had just found out and hadn't had time to look yet as this is why I am here. She just rudely said no she can't. I said I don't understand and I'll just leave because she was being rude and not helping me. I walked out and to the counter to ask if a manager could help me. A woman yelled from the back counter and said call the customer service line online. I asked there's no manager here I can talk to ? She then said fine follow me rudely walked me to the back office. Her tone and expressions were rude and belittling. I asked if she's the manager why is she being so rude. She said I walked in here already with an attitude. I said I haven't even met you before and the gentleman first talked to was kind and helpful. She said I heard you talking to the other woman. Ok then you heard I had asked her for information and she said she was unable to give it to me and then I walked over to you to ask for a manager and you said there wasn't one and now all Of a sudden you're the manager. She asked ok what can I help you with ? I explained again here is a list of possible charges to my account and I put my phone on table with frustration and anger as I just explained this to her coworker and she just lied about not being a manager. She immediately called for security to take me out. I said I would gladly leave I just want both of them biz cards and names and positions before I left. She said they don't have cards and wouldn't even tell me their names and said they don't have cards. The security guard walked over and said I needed to leave. I said not until I get information on who they are and who to contact for a complaint. She then yelled I will help you after this customer. I waited and then said why couldn't you give me this information the 1st time I asked. Then gave me a number and name. I've been calling and it's an automated message and no idea if the number even works at this point. I've been banking here for 10 years or more and have never been treated like this before. She was unprofessional and instead of descalting the situation she escalated it for no reason.

It was around closing time, 4 people in line for the teller(s). Three tellers behind the counter but only ONE helping some customers who were taking a long time. A supervisor (officer?) went behind the counter & apparently helped the other 2 tellers close their drawers, leaving ONE teller at closing time with a line of customers! Make it make sense. From a former bank teller, this is completely absurd, nonsensical, & unacceptable. As a customer, completely unacceptable! As if they don't want to take anyone's money. Noted. Will be moving my money over to a credit union going forward.

Only twice have they gotten a second teller (that includes today) Today it backed up to 8 people waiting before the front desk lady came around asking what we are here for and for Eric to hop on. But no back up teller or second teller available on a regular basis. Each time, if there's more than 2/3 people, there's only one teller, leading to LONG waits and not happy people. Hence the 2 stars. Last time I was here a lady stormed out and another complained and was simply told sorry I only have one teller. Been coming over a month now and I see no change in employment or keeping the tellers available for the high influx of clients/customers.
