Horribly run office! There are some good people that work there but other that the office is managed terribly. It is literally impossible to contact and speak to a real person and if your lucky enough to get sent to some one from calling in you always get their voice mail and they say they will get back to you at THEIR EARLIST CONVENIENCE!!! You needs are NOT there priority. I been trying for a week to get a medication refill and after I called the pharmacy for refill they have since texted me saying provider has not responded to approve refill request. And after speaking with 3 people in that office and each saying they will send this request to everyone ( whoever everyone is??) as of 4:30 today there has been zero response. The building they are in lost power, which is out of their control but they had no communications with people to cancel and reschedule appointments. It seems like total chaos and with people that have mental health issues that's the last ting we need and this happened twice. once on Friday the 12th and again on Wednesday the 17th. So this says this office is completely ill prepared to handle any negative situation to help their patients. I never received any communication as to what was going on as well as no provider looking at my rx refill request. They have. As of this writing I have had 5 calls from that office concerning my meds which tells me 1) they have zero communication even within that office and 2) no one knows what the hell to do... They have a office director named Anthony and as a DIRECTOR you should at the very least have a contingency plan to handle bad situations because life does happen, things go wrong but to have basically nothing in place to handle this stuff and have your patients as a priority, to me this is borderline negligence and possible lawsuit worthy... The only good thing at this office are e few people, spravato nurse Angie and Sheen Williams, and a couple of the office nurses and that's it... read more

I saw Dr Grant for the first time for bipolar. I had to wait an hour for my appointment. He had me stop the medication I've been on for 5 years cold turkey and gave me a new one. I told him it worked well for my racing thoughts I just felt like I needed a mood stabilizer added to control my mania. He dismissed me. I asked several times if I would have withdrawals and he said no. After 1 day of stopping it I had horrible withdrawal and became manic and almost needed to be hospitalized. Everything I've read and my pharmacist said absolutely do not stop an antipsychotic cold turkey. He pushed me off to his NP a week later when he should have been monitoring me closer with a severe med change for bipolar. I will NOT be going back. Stay far far away from him, he is a terrible doctor read more

Dr Grant himself was rather curt and a bit presumptuous. He asks a set lists of questions when doing your assessment. He ticks them off so quickly making assumptions of your answers. Twice he had to go back and change the answer. When he did he would look at me suspiciously. After the assessment I was turned over to a wonderful nurse practitioner named Cheryl. She worked closely with me to find the right cocktail of drugs I needed for all my conditions. I was so sad when she left but was assigned another wonderful NP named Peggy. She too left and I started seeing Jeanie. I really like her and find it worth continuing to have my mental health treatment through Dr Grants office. read more

Debra LaMont, NP double dosed my husband above and beyond an already previously doubled dosage and a maxed dose of an SSRI Venlafaxine (#1 drug in suicides) during a 5 minute Telehealth "med check visit" without any hesitation, failing to follow titrate protocol of not increasing the dose more than 75 mg at a time with monitoring for tolerance. Furthermore, she failed to instruct and inform him of potential serious possible side effects and did not set up a follow up appt to monitor the significant increase in medication. I am an experienced clinician and was highly concerned with the dosage this NP gave my husband and I told him it was too high of a dose. He thought she increased him to such a high dose due to the fact that he said he was still struggling with depressive thoughts. My husband experienced serious side effects within the week, "brain zaps", generalized weakness, worsening depression, confusion which ultimately caused a horrible spiral of depression, other sudden physical ailments into suicidal thoughts. My husband, who was not suicidal, left this earth by his own hand in less than 2 weeks, he was gone! I know the exhorbitant dosage of this specific medication caused this to happen. This has been absolutely horrific and heartbreaking. I would never, EVER recommend seeing Debra LaMont NP. Be warned! These medication dosage schedules come with strict protocol for a reason, they are dangerous when not administered and/or monitored properly. As always, do your due diligence and be very cautious when selecting your practitioners. It could save your life. read more

On this #ThankYouThursday I want to review a business that's been helping me out in a big way for years. I'm incredibly grateful for The Grant Group's team of NPs (and Dr. Grant of course) who have helped me manage my mental health and medication since 2016. A lot of people aren't comfortable talking about their mental health issues, which I completely understand. It took me years to even understand that I needed a little help, let alone share that information with others. I'm a pretty private person in general, but I do think it's important that more people know and see how common it is to struggle with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, etc. No one should be ashamed to seek help, whether their troubles are situational, chemical, or anything in between. I've seen several NPs here at The Grant Group and have never had problems with the team. Everyone has been understanding, sympathetic, and helpful. I currently see Peggy and truly look forward to my chats with her. Currently appointments are virtual, of course, but they're still effective and meaningful while keeping everyone as safe as possible. I wish that everyone out there had wonderful health insurance that extensively covered mental health needs as well. I'm lucky to work for a company (Yelp, I love you) that truly prioritizes the well being of their employees. I've been able to continually see Peggy and have my medication costs well covered, which has been vital to the quality of my daily life. I'm so so so thankful for this business and their team of wonderful professionals who have made my life (and so many others) happier, safer, healthier, and more hopeful. I had a telehealth visit and the nurse accused me of being an addict because the providers office mixed up my chart with an individual who struggled with addiction. The nurse accused me of lying, was on the verge of cussing me out via phone, and was delightfully unprofessional. Dr. Grant attempted to intervene but the damage was done. None of my records were returned after I requested either. I've never had such a poor experience trying to take care of my mental health. read more

Been going here for years, tolerating their rude clerks and Dr Grant himself doesn't seem to care for his patients. Erin and Alex are the two employees keeping this business afloat. I recently missed my appointment during the TX ice storm and they couldn't schedule me until March 3rd. They will not refill my prescription or even give me enough to make it to my next appointment. I have 3 days of meds and 2 weeks to go, wish me luck with my mental health as well as my hunt for a new doctor. read more

The receptionist in the suite with Cheryl is a very nasty woman. We recently changed insurances, that Dr. Grants office does not take. She will not help you in any way, and will deny you to see anyone until you pay her in the full amount, even if it means you or a family member will go without the medicine that is needed. She keeps blinds in her window down for when she's busy, or not wanting to talk to anyone, and will get mad if you tap on the glass to inform her you are there for your appointment. For Dr.Grant, and his nurses I would give 5 stars. They are very kind, and care about you. The rest of the staff as a whole are wonderful people, just that one bitter ol bitty can ruin you even wanting to show up for an appoinment. I am in the process of switching Drs, because I will not deal with her attitude anymore. read more

I love the NP I'm seeing and I don't want to go anywhere else. She always helps me with medication refills and super sweet. I've been coming here for the last year and my only complaint is the office is always running behind schedule. They don't call you to tell you they are running behind or anything. I understand they try to get as many patients in a day but they need to allow time to see everyone and not get behind. If you come here allow yourself extra time. read more

Dr. Grant is refusing to get insurance preauthorization for the medication he prescribes costing me hundreds of dollars out of pocket. His office staff told me to go Costco for the lowest price. Why would I go to Costco when I have perfectly good insurance? Completing paperwork for patients medication is the cost of doing business Dr. Grant. I cannot recommend this "doctor" and would give him zero stars if possible. read more

Really liked the care I received from the nurse practioners however, the INSURANCE person named CINDY IS CALLOUS AND INCREDIBLY RUDE!!!!!!!!! She refused to give me samples because "You have insurance" "Go to the pharmacy" "Samples are reserved for special people with no insurance"! ( I have been a patient for 2 YRS and always was given samples when needed) I drove nearly 1 hour just to pick up my samples because my insurance would not cover the quantity that was written out in my prescription and was waiting another 2.5 weeks for my appt with the NP to prescribe the amount the ins would cover, and with no compassion, no sympathy this UGLINESS was said to me!!!! She knew I drove far too and simply stated" WELL THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM, IT'S THERE'S" after I explained why the insurance would not cover my Rx. What an ignorance , suggesting the pharmacy "change the quantity so my ins pays". First : That's illegal and how could YOU not know this basic info that is part of your job. Second: I really loved the cocktail medication I prescribed , which works great but I am no longer coming here due to CINDY THE INSURANCE WITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay away there are much better offices out there that treat their mental health patients with respect and dignity!!!!! Dr. Grant is terrible. Why do people like him become doctors? I met with him for maybe 10 minutes after spending about an hour with a woman on his staff giving her my medical history. (She, by the way, was wonderful; attentive; very nice). However, Dr. Grant was cold, rude, disinterested, inattentive, pompous; I don't even recall him making eye contact with me -- he just stared at his computer screen. He asked me to confirm how long I'd been taking a pain med prescribed by another doctor. I had filled this out on the intake questionnaire -- I wasn't trying to hide anything. I repeated what I had written on the questionnaire and apparently I was off by a few months (part of my symptomology includes memory problems). It was an unintentional gaffe on my part. However, Dr. Grant was quick to correct me. He shook his head and cut me off as I tried to explain The little weasel soon summarily dismissed me -- still unable to look up from his computer screen where the TX DPS website was visible. I left there feeling like a lying, manipulative, drug-seeker. Just what I wanted after seeing my life completely fall apart over the prior 4 years with chronic pain and anxiety issues. read more

Dr Grant is simply amazing. Along with his PAs and nurse. He is helping me very well and helps me payment wise because I don't have insurance. I still have to pay but they are very good about payment plans and not making me come back every month to keep my medication filled. I just go every 6 months. With that said, they need a new lady working the front office of dr grant. The lady that checks you in for the PAs like Cheryl, well she's great. But the one that answers the phone when you call the office and the one you see when checking in to see dr grant is very rude. I called her to reschedule my appointment and with my payment plan I asked her how much I was going to need to bring with me. I call and ask that every time I go and every time she just says "I don't know!" Then I have to explain to her that I don't have insurance and I'm on a payment plan. By just saying I don't know it is obvious that she doesn't give a crap about other people. And that she hates her job. I'm almost to the point that I want to look for another doctor bc I hate having to put up with her!!! read more

In my opinion when a drug like Cymbalta is left in the hands of a doctor like Cathel P. Grant, patients could be endangered. It is my experience, and therefore my opinion that Dr. Grant ignores reported side affects' symptoms such as the drastically unusual and even violent behavior in a patient on this drug towards their spouse of 25 years. Does Dr. Grant investigate the side effects of Cymbalta and prescribe something else? In my experience and opinion the answer is No, instead, Dr. Grant advises the patient to divorce their supportive, loving husband. It is my opinion that this is not responsible medicine, this is total disregard for a patient's welfare and his medical practice license should be revoked for the safety of the public. In my recent compliant action to the Texas Medical Board. Dr. Grant claimed he met standards of care and treatment and obtained informed consent for medication prescribed with the indication of possible side effects, he additionally claimed reasonable care and claimed was attentive to any reported side effects. In my opinion there is one opinion to Dr. Grant's claims you must be in the room to get and to give informed consent for medication. It is my experience that Dr. Grant never explained any medication, and by no means went through any side effect with me or my wife; in fact there was absolutely no side effects discussion in any way shape or form. It is my experience he refused listening to the side effects of the drug Cymbalta on my wife. If I said one word about her both Grant and his nurse Sharon Walters started yelling HIPPA and flat refused to listen to anything I had to say. In my opinion this is totally contrary to the statement he gave the Texas Medical Board. In my experience this was contrary to Elli Lilly's instructions on the drug on Cymbalta too, when the side effects I was trying to tell both Grant and Walters about, my wife was to be removed from the Cymbalta, according to the companies literature. It is my opinion that Grant purposely ignored or had no knowledge of the drug manufacture's recommendation of the drug he was prescribing, resulting in an attack on my person of my wife of 25 years, and a resulting injury which I do not know I will ever get over. http://www.inmyopinionfreespeech.us/ read more
