Since we have found Catapult, I am just consistently amazed. So many times when we have a positive experience, we don't take time to let people know. This time I felt it would was too important to let the opportunity slip by. My daughter did a coach/tape with Matt this morning for network episodic. He was stellar! What an amazing guy and fantastically skilled coach. What was truly beautiful was his "coaching" at the end of taping, that wasn't related to the script at all. Catapult consistently brings the lessons learned from their auditions/workshops/classes back to life and personal growth... it is just invaluable to these kids! I heard the owner Erik once say once that he didn't care if any student of his ever got a part again, that roles were the byproduct of the real work they were doing over at Catapult. This place is a total gem!!! I Just moved to Atlanta from SoCal and my local agent suggested Catapult for self taping. I COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH. There's a certain amount of stress that comes with having to produce a self-tape audition and the folks at Catapult understand this. They provide the calmest, most supportive environment--- one that's conducive to bringing out the actors' best work. The facility is beautiful and pristine, decorated in a minimal, modern style-- you get into the right mind frame as soon as you walk in. The taping rooms are top notch: quiet, sound proofed, with excellent technical equipment contributing to a perfectly lit and sounding audition tape. The readers/ Technicians who tape you are also amazing--- calm, knowledgeable, service oriented and professional and also really excellent actors who understand scripts and the audition process. It's all geared towards one goal: making the actor look and sound great while being free to focus on the performance. The amount of JOY and encouragement that exudes from this professional team is a rare find in this very competitive field. Staff members are working professionals themselves, so they understand the artistic side as well as the business side. My story: I'm a working professional, (SAG- AFTRA- AEA) trained in NYC. I had signed up online for what looked to be this very intriguing actor's workshop! My mistake... I read too quickly and missed the part that it was for kids!! This was probably one of my best mistakes ever! Once I realized what I did, I called the studio and they graciously gave me options. I chose to do private lessons and I couldn't be happier. My coach, Erik Lingvall, not only directs me for my video taped auditions but he also helps me plan goals to manage my business. I'm so very grateful to have found him. I highly recommend this studio. Side note: This past week the electricity went out due to a storm, but actors were coming in to tape their auditions that had deadlines to send to casting- Paige & Matt came up with a clever way to tape us and get our auditions in on time! Catapult Acting has been more than just an acting studio for our family. It is our home away from home. All of the staff have been so amazing.
