When I walked in and realized that I wouldn't have to trek to BHV to do my dreaded shopping, my blood pressure resumed to normal and a proverbial rainbow stretched across the sky. They had everything I needed, but with only one clerk at the counter and a half dozen or so people like me delighted to have found their homeware eldorado, what should have been a five minute shopping spree took more like 30 minutes to complete. Nevertheless, this is a handy address to have on hand when you need a last minute shipping box, paint brush, light bulb near the Arts et Metier station.

Laverdure et Fils is one of the last great supply stores in Paris for artisans and professional tradesman. However, I would not call this a hardware store, especially that which is depicted in the photo with the hammer and screws. That picture sends the wrong message. If you want a hardware store, you must look for a "quincaillerie".
