A great well established" Local" pub about 10 mins walk from the town centre just over the river.I try to call in when I'm back visiting my home town.Cask Marque accredited and a regular in the CAMRA beer guide.A traditional pub serving a very good selection of locally sourced pub grub,Definitely recommend the Westmorland Sausage , a traditional South Lakes course spiced sausage ,similar to the better known Cumberland.This has been one of my regulars since the mid 80's and continues to deliver good quality traditional pub food.Keeps 5 to 6 Real Ales on with a focus on local brews,decked out with lovely hanging baskets in the summer,check out its website for full details/menus etc read more
