They have a lovely atrium area where you can wait and a nice little bar and space to sit for breakfast, I presume. They offer valet parking or you can pack for yourself. It's very conveniently located for the best sites in Salamanca.

You can walk from the Parador to the Plaza Major in about 20 minutes. It's also located about 10 minutes from the Roman bridge that crosses the river into town. The first thing you notice as you enter the lobby is the huge picture window framing the cathedral. It looks like the scene from a fairy tale. Service upon checking in is relatively easy because the Parador has an app that allows you to pre-register. Before you arrive you can enter your name, passport/travel document details, etc. The man at the front desk who checked me in was efficient but not the most friendly. However, after the stress of navigating from Madrid to Salamanca with limited Spanish, it was so very nice to be received with some English. With few exceptions (I'm looking at you, guy in cafeteria who ignored me), the service I received from the staff was exceptional. When the app wasn't working and I couldn't view the room service menu, the front desk person printed out a copy, told me to call her and she'd order it for me. The kitchen staff doesn't speak English as well as the front desk does, so call the front desk for help if needed. The app is quite good for what it is. There are several buttons for info on amenities, and a cool chat function that lets you communicate with the front desk. I used it and it worked, but it's not as fast as just picking up the phone and calling. I ordered room service in Spanish but needed some assistance in English at the end. Between the two of us, we were able to communicate in broken Spanish and English. The person who delivered it to my room was so sweet and kind when she said that my Spanish was "perfect" and she could understand me very well. Food from the restaurant was exceptional. Dinner was delicious and I truly enjoyed breakfast--wish I could have eaten it all but there was too much of it! The room was divine. I didn't have a view and I didn't care. I requested a QUIET room so I could catch up on all the sleep I was lacking. The door has a foyer with a secondary door to close and seal off sounds from the hallway. It worked pretty well. The bathroom was spacious and clean with Jack and Jill sinks and a bidet. The toiletries smelled like jasmine, which I loved. I was able to soak for a while in the bathtub which is a rarity for many bathrooms across Spain. The bed was perfect--not too soft and not too hard. And the level of care they took with sanitation was beyond expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and if we decide to return to Salamanca during the second leg of my stay, I would choose this property in a heartbeat. I hope to bring my family back with me.

A beautiful luxury experience, gorgeous from the lobby to the shower. Staff have all been wonderful. The cathedrals/convents and Plaza Mayor, with all its adjoining restaurants, shops, and taverns are a short 2 min walk across the street. The hotel staff speak English if you need, and are very knowledgeable about the area.

The hotel staff from the front desk to the cleaning staff are very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast is a self service buffet with many choices. The underground car park garage entrance by elevator lift is a bit tricky to learn how to enter but we easily adapted. We had a medium size Mercedes's E 200 5 door that fit easily and we also saw larger cars including a van in our second level. The location is a easy walk to many restaurants and cultural sights. Would highly recommend.

Airconditioning, clean and tidy rooms, big bathroom with bath and bidet. Reception people speak Spanish with three words of English and ask after an explanation of two minutes if we understand. No is not our answer even though we don't really understand. This is all part of the Spanish way :-). It's not expensive and a great place to stay! Welcome!
