I struggled to work out exactly what was going on in this store. It struck me as a Cash Converters…read moretype place that specialises in electronics, but some of the merchandise seemed brand new. There was definitely some second-hand stuff here; power tools, white goods and DVDs. I don't know much about the value or condition of the power tools, but I do know I've never seen so many in one place (not that that's the most dramatic of statements). The DVDs were very cheap, and that is something I do know about. They had entire series of TV shows for very low prices, and there were recent shows, many of which are still on air. All the movies were only $5 or so. It wasn't exactly the same range as a specialist DVD store, but there were a fair few there. If you're in the market for electronics with a budget, I suggest you give this place a try.

I went in to Casheez at Wynnum central and organised a $75 loan. He photocopied all my ID, printed…read moreout about 25 pages of bank statements, kept me wandering around the shop saying he was waiting on a confirmation on the loan. After 35 minutes wandering around the shop he came back to me and said that they couldn't offer me a loan because my EMERGENCY CONTACT I had listed at the same address as my own had a bad debt with them. Why are they running emergency contacts through their system? He said this was the policy. I said if you wanted referees you should have asked for referees not EMERGENCY CONTACTS. I said this was deceiptful and questionable and that I was going to complain. I can't see how my friends bad debt constitutes bad credit for me and it was a breach of privacy that he even divulged that information to me.

If you are ever in the need of some fast cash or are just looking for something and feel like…read morepaying full price for it is too much then look no further than Cash Converters. I know there are a few around Birsbane and sometimes to get the best deal you need to go and have a look at more than just one of the outlets. The thing I love about going into Cash Converters is that you never know what you are going to find. This can be a problem for people like me who normally go into a shop with something specific in mind and then leave with something completely different. At Cash Converters most of the stuff you see is in fairly good condition and if its things like a bicycle or tools or even a surf board sometimes starting out with a second hand one from Cash Converters is a good idea. They do also have a lending and selling area so if you have something that is in good condition and u want to get rid of it take it down to Cash Converters for an easy sale. This also avoids having to put ad's up online and takes the time wasting out of selling. If you borrow money be aware though because they will have a crazy high interest rate almost to the point of it not being worth it.

Most of the staff aren't overly friendly at this store, and in my experience, they have deceptive…read morebusiness practices, so you have to be very careful when purchasing used goods from them. Tricks that they have include hiding item defects by covering them with price tags, and when it comes to electrical goods (such as game consoles), they shrink wrap them so that you cannot see item defects until after the purchase has already been made. They may also offer you a lower price on an item if you agree to no warranty, though do not do this! If the item is immediately faulty when you get home, they will have a 'too bad' kind of attitude. I have not tried selling anything to them or getting a loan through them, nor would I considering my purchasing experiences with them. Some of the items that they sell are pretty good, it is a shame that they lack good customer service, and feel the need to mislead customers in order to move stock. If you are interested in used goods, stick to ebay, as you have buyer protection through PayPal.
