I went looking for mint US stamps to add to his small collection. I dealt with the owner who brought out three small books which had stamps from the 1940s and 50s as I had requested. I went through the first book and picked out two stamps which my son had not checked off as having in his Bookman Pricelist book- indicating to me he did not yet have these stamps. I only picked out two stamps which he priced at 4-5X face value. I wanted to continue looking through the other books, but when it told him I was only looking for stamps in the 20 cent to 35 cent range. I told him (in a matter of fact manner) that I saw other 1940 mint US stamps at 2x face value and the 1940s 2 cent 'red' mint stamps selling for 10 cents each- I asked him if that was possible. He then told me to go buy the stamps at the other store and he wouldn't let me go through the other books to see what I could find that my son needed. I thought the this experience was one of very poor customer service. He basically did not seem interested in giving me time to buy only about $20 in stamps. There were no other customers in the store and the store had over 3 hours to the store closing time, Go figure.

Formans is shady looking take as much form you as they can possibly get legal or illegal. It's one thing to make profit....it's another to look to rip people off ‼ A few months back I took a loan out at this place on an item of both monetary and sentimental value. Fast forward to the 17th of March I paid 500 for my March payment (last payment made on 2/13)...meaning I only owed 185 or so in interest the rest is automatically supposed to go to the principal right⁉ Nope not at this place‼ This guy says since I paid on the 13th of Feb, and the 17th in March that 4 days automatically put me on the hook to pay interest for the entire month of April which hasn't even arrived. He says that in the state of PA 1 day over equates to the entire months interest when it comes to pawn broker loans. He acutely took 2 months interest and tried to justify it by saying it's how it's always been. Really? Sounds like your customers have been getting taken advantage of for years then‼ (ThIs is % against the law) What's even more f'ed up is in January I paid on the 16th (remember last month in Feb I paid on the 13th) So I paid a few days early right ⁉ Nope not at this place‼ According to him it doesn't matter when you pay you got 30days. Go past by 1 day you accrue the entire next months interest, pay a little early... so what. he starts your loan over that day. Don't matter if you pay 5 days before or 5 days after this guy is pushing you into the next months interest before it even gets here. This way you never pay off the loan because you're never paying on the principal. Not sure how they've been getting away with it long. On the same day I payed my guitar off I renewed the lease on my guitar pedal. Mind you this pedal was pawned for $25 when it's new worth is $250 and this thing was in brand new never used condition. I went there today to claim the item back but I had lost the green slip they give you upon pawning or renewing an item. They say they don't even have any record of it being renewed in their system. Now since they made some sort of clerical error on my renewal I am out $250 for a $25 pawn. I would recommend you take your business else where when dealing with high end equipment just on the principle of their carelessness. And if you do pawn there be sure you don't lose your slip and have proof of everything. I'd hate to see this happen to someone else.

I prefer online auctions, and their photos are always top notch with excellent titles that are always exactly what the item is. They include photos that show everything - especially any chips or imperfections and measurements. That's more than the majority of eBay sellers do! This means they get top dollar for the items, because if it looks perfect you know it is! I do a lot of research, so I have gotten items for a great price that others didn't realize were valuable, but I'm always happy with the price I paid and I know that the estate is making good money, too! They give a 4 hour window for pickup, every lot is clearly numbered, and my pickups (over 50 - sometimes I go to 2 houses on both Sat and Sun!) may take a while because I buy so much, but I'm never made to feel rushed (I get there at least an hour before the ending time so I don't make them stay longer than the stated time - that's just being a good person and not a Karen) and they always go smoothly! I don't usually buy heavy items or furniture because I'm by myself, but I have brought friends to help with a wicker sofa and chairs, as it's always clearly stated it's the customers responsibility to pack and carry their own items. That's true of all in person estate sales and online pickups. I've become a reseller in the last year, and I will continue to keep bidding! Everyone that works there is respectful, organized, and efficient. From Michelle (one of the owners), to Robin, Mel, Judy, Amanda, Jen, Jess, Michael, Bill, Gloria, and others that I forgot their names (sorry!), their team is my favorite! They learned my name after just a few times, which has always impressed me. I recommend them to literally everyone I meet, and there are a few estate sale companies that I will never go to in person or buy from online again- so I'm picky!
