I visited London Road Cash Converters last weekend in search for a TV/DVD player. I was greeted by a very friendly salesman. I chose a television that came with a DVD, freeview and remote. When I asked if the warranty included refund the salesman informed me it did. He was very pleasant and helpful and I asked if I could put the TV to one side and pick it up in the morning. The next morning I paid for and took the TV away. That weekend I tried to play four DVDs (which I had bought especially) but all of them cut out after the first hour or the screen became heavily pixelated, rendering the dvds useless. The remote was also faulty. Naturally disappointed, I took the TV back to the shop for a refund, preferring to opt for a brand new television from somewhere else to avoid further disappointment. I was then referred to the manager, Darren, who informed me a refund was impossible and that he could only repair or replace the TV. I was annoyed with this as I didn't particularly trust the store at this point and I had been told the previous day before the purchase that the refund option would be available. I felt naive and fooled by a sales technique. However, the manager, after some debate, eventually agreed to replace the TV, and made it his personal task to find me something suitable that I could trust would work. He took my number and rang me the next morning. He'd found me a better TV with all the same functions and fully functioning remote etc. It was worth an extra £10 but he gave it to me for the original price I had paid. What could have turned out to be a very disheartening experience with Cash Converters ended up being a satisfactory purchase thanks to Darren's excellent customer service skills and generosity as a general manager. As a result I would recommend Cash Converters on London Road to anyone in the future. read more
