They are open to the public for large events and it would be a great venue to do so. So whether you are considering membership or a destination for an event you are hosting, you should absolutely consider the Country Club of Terre Haute (CCTH). I grew up in Terre Haute and even grew up at CCTH in many ways. It is as beautiful today as it was 30 years ago. My vantage point is most commonly from the golf course, so I might be skewed by well manicured fairways and beautiful mature trees. It really is quite a nice course and I enjoy playing it. Staff in pro shop are friendly and they have a nice selection of golf wear, shoes, clubs, etc. Clubhouse staff are also friendly and accommodating. When considering food options available in Terre Haute, CCTH is comparable or better. It is hard to review an option on Yelp that is a private club, but I felt compelled to do so because it is a special place. Nostalgic in many ways and unique to Terre Haute and its history.

The facility was setup nicely in several rooms and halls which made for a nice casual place to hang out with friends in several spots. The wedding hall itself had a nice view to the outside and was a good size to not feel excessively large, while also providing plenty of space to conduct the ceremony. The bar had a nice setup where the drinks are served in the corner and the remaining area can be used to socialize. The dining room was quite elegant and large with plenty of room for dancing. The food was very tasty and fresh. It tasted like the ingredients were locally sourced and I liked the minimal use of dressing and seasonings, instead relying a lot on the quality of the ingredients. I also enjoyed the care put into having nice distinct textures on the different elements of the dish and particularly enjoyed their version of risotto. Overall, great experience and I'd love to attend another wedding here again some day.

The wedding was originally scheduled to be held outside, but rain and winds prevented that from happening. The room that they used inside was gorgeous. It was large, well lit, and looked out on the golf course and pool area. The reception was held in the bar/restaurant area. Normally this is a large space, but the large wedding made it look small and crowded. The grand ballroom was where the dinner and dancing took place. This is a huge room and was used well to accommodate over 150 guests. The servers were efficient in bringing out our food. The food was very good and I would come here again for the food. The appetizers that were served during the cocktail hour were also tasty. Overall, this was a great place to hold a wedding.

First I'd like to review the positives of quail Creek . I came to stay for business in the hotel…read morenot to golf so my focus will be mostly on the room and check in process. View from room. Beautiful. Nice lake overview. Can sit on porch and its very relaxing. Room decor. A little dated but nice presentation. Think if a resort from the 70s transported in time..Lighting was really classy. Bartender was nice and beer was cheap Bed is actually extremely comfortable They gave me a late check-out without any hassle The front desk seemed friendly OK now for the reasons you should not pick this place over country suites (where my colleagues stayed) Room seemed cleaned but I found crap stains towards top of toilet rim, dirty coffee cups left in room but stacked back in place. TV reception. I don't know how they can advertise that they have TV, reception was that bad. They need to check the cables. No ironing board. I'm sure there's not too much demand but spend the 15 bucks per room just in case right? They had one at the desk. It was smaller then my arm. The toilet. I've seen better toddler toilets. Invest the extra 50 bucks per room in a decent toilet. Front desk seemed a little confused every time I called. Clearly they don't have too many guests. They only picked up the phone about half the time. Weak flow on shower. Mobile version of web site doesn't work Continental breakfast was danishes wrapped in plastic. Kept in a cupboard. Now for the two unforgivables Maid knocked at 748 am on a Saturday. There is zero reason for this. All these rooms have metal keys. We would definitely stop by front desk with keys to check out (which we hadn't), out car was clearly parked out front, and we aren't golfers. Whoever was does this should be retrained right away. I've never been knocked awake this early and I was pissed which is not my normal mo. That or better communication between maids and front desk. The room are cabin type room and they share a hot water heater in a closet between the two adjoining rooms in the cabin. When the other side got up at 805 am.(they probably got woken up by maid too) they took showers. The hot water heater started making a sound like someone knocking on the wall with a hammer. Fix the hot water heater for crying out loud that thing is so loud. This could be a destination location if they wanted it to be but management is clearly just happy with it being a little sleepy set of rooms on a golf course. I paid the extra money over country suites for something a little nicer than my colleagues and I was disappointed when I compared it to their rooms.

I remember when this was a great place on the PGA tour…read more The restaurant was always busy and managed with great care. I have been there twice in the last two months. The first time the service was slow, the food was relatively good, and our group had a nice large table to visit and spend some time together. When our group returned this past week (June/2017), the service was again slow, the kitchen was out of basic dressings. This time the food was disappointing (burnt chips, not everything on the menu available, iced tea looked and tasted like brown sludge) and our bills were totally messed up. I felt bad for our waitress, who was doing the best she could under the circumstances, who said that they were implementing a new cashier system and it had been messing up all day. We decided that we won't return for future get-togethers. This is a management issue. No quality control. No daytime oversight. Apparently no inventory awareness. And, obviously, no foresight into training staff for a new system before putting it fully on line. Such a shame. Good opportunity for someone to come in and make it great again.
