Nonetheless, they do great work, they are friendly and courteous, and don't give us too many surprises. When they have (given us a surprise) they've found something that needs repair and they are level with us as to what we can do and how much it costs (well I don't really know about that last part, since we all agreed long ago that they wouldn't tell me how much she is spending!). They've done all kinds of work on different parts of the house, in and out. They've also helped manage/oversee other types of work (putting in an asphalt drive for example). I think it's inevitable that my wife will find other things to repair or replace; at least with them I know we'll get a good deal and good work and I don't have to worry each time about who is tromping around my house!

If you're looking for an honest, highly skilled contractor who truly takes pride in his work, I…read morecan't recommend him enough. We've trusted him with projects ranging from small repairs to extensive remodels and even a complete new home build, and he has exceeded our expectations every time. What sets him apart: Honest, trustworthy, and dependable--you never have to wonder if the job is being done correctly. Exceptional craftsmanship with great attention to detail. Excellent problem solver who can design creative solutions when unexpected issues arise. Communicates clearly throughout every phase of the project. Shows up, works hard, and treats your home with respect. Delivers high-quality work that is built to last. Projects he has completed for us include (this list is only things I can remember off the top of my head, I'm sure I haven't covered everything): Installed beautiful hardwood flooring and floor tile. Completely remodeled two showers with intricate, high-end tile work. Designed and remodeled two bathrooms and a laundry room. Designed and built a kitchenette where none previously existed. Installed cabinetry, floating shelves, and custom closet organizers. Installed a stunning waterfall countertop along with two additional custom countertops. Rerouted and repaired plumbing. Added new electrical service, lighting, and subpanels for new appliances. Installed new appliances. Installed interior doors, a Murphy door with a hidden lock, and sliding exterior screen doors. Rerouted dryer ductwork. Installed crown molding throughout. Rebuilt our sump pump system. Replaced our propane water heater. Remodeled two stairwells. Installed exterior foundation vents. Perhaps the biggest testament to his abilities is that he personally oversaw, managed, and worked hands-on throughout the construction of our new home--from the foundation all the way to the roof, interior finishes, landscaping, deck construction, and everything in between. His workmanship and attention to quality are evident in every detail. The best recommendation I can give is that we continue to hire him. In fact, we've already brought him back multiple times and have him scheduled again for additional deck repairs and future remodeling projects. I almost hesitate to write such a glowing review because every time word gets out, his schedule fills up quickly--and selfishly, I still have a list of projects I want him to do! But exceptional contractors who combine honesty, integrity, craftsmanship, and versatility deserve to be recognized. If you have the opportunity to hire him, don't hesitate. You'll be glad you did.

When we called the tech, he said it would be $250 ($125 Call + $125 Emergency) for the call plus parts. They came by and fixed the door that night and handed me an $1100.00 bill. He replaced the hinges set @ $699 and the closer with arm @ $245 ($64 - Lowes price). I questioned the cost of the parts after doing my own research online. So, I called the corporate office whose number was on the bill just to verify their franchisee is charging prices set by the corporate office. First their customer service rep has the tech that I believe potentially charged me unjustly give me a call. I am not sure how they thought that would fix anything. My reasoning for calling the corporate office was to get an unbiased opinion. They did not understand that. I guess they thought the tech may have a change of heart on the billing. I had to call several times because they were trying to get a copy of the invoice, but they never called me back (only the tech called me per their request). I followed up several times until finally I got someone on the phone, who couldn't really explain the cost of parts. She would try to talk over me when I was explaining the hoops I needed to jump through to get answers. If you want a hinges set and a closer with an arm installed for $1100, by all means call these folks. Don't expect anyone to capable of explaining the cost of parts, and everything will be deferred to the tech's. They are forwarded customer service inquiries as well. If their sticker is on your entry door. Please replace it with another.

We had a terrible mishap with Kitchen Sales remodeling our kitchen while we were on Spring Break…read more Unfortunately, we came home to a water leak in back of the refrigerator that caused our hickory floors to buckle like tee-pees in 2 areas of our living room and kitchen. We also had a subpar sanding job from the original installer, so this new repair took extra sanding throughout our entire downstairs floor. One more to add, we had cupping when summertime came around. Chip Auten was my first thought of who could help us with this hardwood floor repair. Chip came right over to assess the damage and came up with a plan. One thing about Chip and his crew, they know their stuff about real hardwood, especially, Hickory. They delivered the wood planks and let them acclimate for 2 weeks. Then, scheduled the installation of the wood planks which took 2-3 days. The good news is we left for a 2 week vacation while they were doing the work. The crew was meticulous about dust and cleaning! Everyday during the install, we saw no dirt or signs of work being done in our kitchen! Mace was amazing and knowledgeable. Overall, the sanding took a little longer but the end result is beautiful. The hickory shows character with different grains and detail. The repair job came out excellent. I'll try to post before and after pictures of Auten Wide Plank Repair. Thank you so much for helping us through this truly stressful kitchen remodel. Chip does what he says and says what he does. The install crew are honest and trustworthy as they were working in our house while we were on vacation. Wonderful job!
