The office staff and nurses are all very kind and helpful. When we had questions about…read morevaccines and vaccine schedules the Doctors (Doctor Amanda Williams) response was just "the science, the science". Typical regurgitation taught in med school these days. There was no desire or discussion about risks, family history, genetics etc. The doctor told us they don't allow alternative schedules because we would "forget" about our child's vaccines. Eventually she even admitted they don't carry certain covid or flu vaccines because they cost too much. At any rate, we weren't considering those but it It's clear their focus is on making money, not patient care/alternatives.

Four years later and I am still incensed.  Time to leave a review:…read more  * I had a 22-year and 4-child relationship with this office. * Many of those years, we went from well-child visit to well-child visit with no contact in between for all 4 children-- I have never been an alarmist, an arguer, or a nuisance to them. Here's what happened in 2020: I was troubled by the medical requirements we were given by the MHSAA.  So I did what you're supposed to do.  I called and asked my own medical professionals.  This is what I said to the nurse: "I am having a hard time with the mask requirements for my boys.  I'm not looking for a waiver, but I do have 4 specific concerns that I'd like to present to the doctors so they can help me understand that my boys are safe. I'd be happy for a call back from any of the doctors in the practice." First, impetigo & acne & tooth decay.  They wear the masks from about 7:45am until about 5 pm-- all morning, then wad them up in their jeans pockets to eat lunch, then wear them all afternoon, then throw them on top of their gym bags while they change into their running clothes, then they wear them and sweat in them while they run 7-12 miles. Second, reduced vision/safety while running on uneven ground and city streets.  After just 1 cross country practice in the masks, both boys commented that it was a very strange sensation to not be able to see their hands or feet while they run.  They thought it was funny.  I immediately thought of inability to see uneven sidewalks and  passing cars if they can't see their own hands & feet. Third, inadequate oxygen during strenuous exercise.  Both boys after 1 7-mile run said they struggled to get up to pace the entire time because they had lead legs and headaches. If you run, you know exactly what that means. And aren't sunshine, fresh air, and exercise the best disinfectants and health aids? How is blocking sunshine and fresh air while running better for them? Their own bodies are clearly sending a message. Fourth, harming their natural immune system.  When they constantly breathe in their own particulates, are they hypersensitizing their antibodies to what already exists in their bodies?  And when they are removed from regular exposure to small viral loads of common cold and flu, are their immune systems becoming less sensitive and able to fight off other dangers? The nurse wrote down my questions. *20 minutes later* (quicker than a typical call back from a medical office), the nurse called back and said, "The doctor is not giving any waivers for cross country.  Swimming is the sport they cannot do in masks."   That's it.  That's all the conversation I received from my medical professionals about the health of my children.  Answering the question I DID NOT ask, and ignoring each of my specific, real, and respectful concerns.  Proving they are cowardly liars, hacks & frauds who never had my children's health prioritized.

cannot recommend this practice based on my experience…read more The office staff was consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Instead of listening to my concerns or communicating respectfully, I felt like I was treated as an inconvenience from the beginning. Even more concerning, important information was not accurately communicated to my healthcare providers. When I attempted to clarify the facts and correct the misinformation, I was met with hostility rather than a willingness to resolve the issue. Instead of addressing my concerns or taking responsibility for the communication breakdown, I was dismissed from the practice. Being removed as a patient simply for trying to ensure my medical information was accurate is deeply disappointing and raises serious concerns about how patient concerns are handled. Every patient deserves to be treated with respect, to have accurate information communicated to their provider, and to be able to advocate for themselves without fear of retaliation. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Then I had something happen while vacationing that confirmed that I had the access to the best care in West Michigan through this office. After falling on a rock and doing serious tissue and muscle damage as well as exposure to unknown pathogens I had to fly 17 hours back to GR arriving on a Sunday and waited to call Dr McCorry's office Monday morning. He asked me to come in immediately and gave me the medical attention my situation required to head off infections and further damage due to potential blood clots. They began a comprehensive treatment plan that found me seeing the specialists that could diagnose and treat my wounds and carefully monitored my progress over several weeks. It is my belief that without that continued support and immediate care my situation could have easily resulted in nerve damage and serious infections. My sister was a patient of Dr. Curry until an experience she had today - May 4th, 2026…read more She went in for an appointment due to ongoing back and chest pain, pain that I personally witnessed over the weekend where she could barely move during flare ups. Poor girl had it on and off and couldn't find relief. After explaining her symptoms to Courtney Telfer and her assistant, my sister was left alone in the exam room. While they were standing just outside the door, she overheard the following conversation: Courtney Telfer: "This is all just weird and doesn't make sense." Assistant: "Yeah it is, IF she is even telling the truth." And then they both proceeded to LAUGH. Let that sink in. A patient comes in for help, explains real and ongoing pain, and is immediately dismissed and accused of possibly lying, within earshot. This is not just UNPROFESSIONAL, it is UNACCEPTABLE. No patient should ever be made to feel like they are being judged, dismissed, or accused of dishonesty when seeking medical care. Because of this, my sister will not be returning, and I fully support that decision. Dr. Curry, this is a direct reflection of your staff and your practice. Patients trust your office with their health, and conversations like this destroy that trust instantly. This needs to be addressed immediately to ensure it does not happen to someone else. No one seeking medical care should ever walk away feeling like this. I hope the two ladies listed above truly as themselves if the healthcare setting is really for them... because this entire situation makes me SICK to think this is how they are with patients.

This was my second experience with Courtney, and I am compelled to share it so that others know what to expect if they choose this practice. My appointment was meant to be a med check for a new medication. I had prepared a list of symptoms and real examples of the struggle I was experiencing. At the time, I felt she was being dismissive, but after much reflection, I think she genuinely did not know the answers to my questions. I think she expected the appointment to go one way and when I presented her with what I was experiencing, she did not know how to handle it. It felt dismissive and incredibly frustrating - she did not seem to care or believe what I was saying. When I expressed that I am experiencing debilitating symptoms and that I am not at high risk for abusing medication, she LAUGHED, and said: "Well, everyone is at risk." More importantly, she offered no medical advice or guidance. She did not ask a single follow-up question. At one point, I asked her if she just didn't believe that my diagnosis was real. She stared at me blankly. This experience left me feeling judged and frustrated, and left me with zero confidence in Courtney's clinical judgment or her ability to address my concerns appropriately. I brought my concerns to the practice manager, Clark, but was completely ignored. I documented my concerns and submitted a formal complaint to Curry Family Medicine on 5/6, then sent a follow-up message on 5/19. I never received a response. This practice prides itself on small-town vibes and providing personalized care. My experience tells a different story. Also worth noting, the previous PA, Theresa Tan, and her nurses were AMAZING. I have not met Dr. Curry, but I cannot fathom having my name on a practice and ignoring the concerns of my longtime patients. Curry Family Medicine has shown me that my medical concerns will not be taken seriously and that my concerns regarding their practitioners will be dismissed. This is not a safe space.
