This was a nice Mexican restaurant. A very cozy place in what at first looks like somebody's home. When you get inside you see a full bar. And a separate dining room with a fireplace. The staff were quite friendly. And the food was very tasty. I had the chimichanga combo (one chicken, and one beef), guacamole, rice and beans. My friend had the porter house steak dish (potato, veggie, and mexi-wedding soup). We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. Travelling South, we found ourselves in Kingston and stumbled on this lovely Mexican spot. We sat at the bar and chatted with the owners while drinking excellent Margarita's. Disappointed. Service was slow. They were short staff. It was very obvious if you weren't a regular they didn't care. The owners that consists of what I believe to be a family of four barley serviced our table. We had to remind them for everything. I had dinner at Casa Villa for my birthday with friends and family, and we had a very nice time. It was the first time I had been there, and I will definitely return. I used to go to Rosita's for Mexican food in Kingston, but they've been going downhill the last few years. Casa Villa is my new favorite Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant in Kingston. I got a combination platter and I enjoyed everything. Even the beans and rice were very tasty. I enjoyed a raspberry Margarita,and my kids enjoyed Mexican sodas. My 11 year old picky eater also really enjoyed her burrito from the kids menu. They had a Mariachi band playing the evening I was there, and they were very talented. I enjoyed the music. However while they were playing in our dining room, the trumpets were quite loud and it was hard to talk until they were done. They would probably be better suited to an outdoor venue. read more

I've been coming to Casa Villa for the past 15 years back then it was up-town Kingston. I absolutely love the food and the owner is so nice. He treats his customers like family and always assures we are happy!! Everything on the menu is great but I must say that my favorite is the enchiladas verde. Just be careful the chips and salsa is so good you might find you self full as you begin to eat your actual meal! Its not easy to find a great restaurant in Kingston that never disappoints, but this is definitely one of them! read more

First let me start by saying that the staff/ customer service is GREAT. The food I was actually disappointed by. The flavor seems watered down and maybe it's to cater to the demographic but I was annoyed by this. I had a strawberry margarita which was also watered down. I really didn't enjoy the food. Been going here for at least 3 years. Always at least 6 of us, spend a lot of money and at first, everything was great. Service was declining (owner was bartending) and it started becoming like we were bothering him for drink or bar food. So we didn't go as often. Last year we went again, ordered nachos, wings, drinks, etc and our chicken on the nachos was pink. When we said something, the owner said it was fine.. didn't look pink to him. We said cut into another piece it's pink! (bad customer service to disagree with customer!) so he got pissed when we asked for another plate of nachos. He came back with the SAME plate that he had put in the microwave. needless to say, unedible! It took us another year to go in and what an awful experience! My girlfriend and I stopped in Kingston for the day and decided to have Mexican food for dinner. We arrived after 4 pm and ordered our meal at the bar. The drinks, both pina coladas and margaritas were great. Although my girlfriend preferred her margarita on the rocks rather than frozen. The food was very good and really cannot understand why anyone would say it's bland. We had the taquitos, guacamole (very flavorful) and the Big burrito and it was all fantastic. The service was great and everyone there including the locals were very friendly and personable. we live 2 hours from Kingston and would make a special trip just to eat there again. My husband and I enjoy their delicious food, awesome margaritas and great service every Friday night. It has become a tradition with our family. Everyone wants to join us on Friday night for dinner! I usually have the Enchillada meal and my husband has the chicken fajitas. The steak and shrimp is very good, cooked exactly to order. My picky daughter loves the chicken fingers (her favorite). We tried the taco salad two weeks ago and as with all of the picky, detailed orders we give, made exactly as we requested. The chips and salsa are never ending - made fresh, with the salsa medium/mild so everyone can enjoy it. The Tex-Mex food here is average at best. I got a vegetable burrito that lacked flavor alongside some uninspired refried beans and shredded iceberg lettuce/tomato "salad." (Or was this just to put on top of the burrito? I dunno....) The chips and salsa were plentiful and gladly refilled. My margarita was clearly made from a mix: the overly-sweet, Prestone-in-resemblance stuff you see at the supermarket. It was large, but too sugary in the sour mix. Hands down, my FAVORITE MEXICAN RESTAURANT AROUND! The owner is so very friendly, as is 99% of the wait staff. I have been coming here for YEARS. I highly recommend my favorite, the Pollo Ranchero, my fiancée LIVES for the SIZZLING right from the kitchen to your plate, Chicken Fajitas, and they have THE BEST HOUSE MARGARITAS, ANYWHERE!!! By far one of my favorite places to eat. First time i went to this place was random. My future wife and I were in the area and we were craving mexican. Since that day we've gone about 6 or 7 times and will continue too make the drive for the delicious food and wonderful friendly service!!!! It's the type of place that you just want to order everything. The portion of food is awesome. You leave stuffed but still wanting more. Usually I start off with the tortilla soup. I've had this soup at many Mexican places and it just never tasted fresh or had a lot of body to it. This soup though has such a fresh taste with perfect consistency. Also as an appetizer we get the Botana for two ...I believe it's called. This appetizer is a bit of everything quesadillas, Halla Pinos poppers on top of a plate full of nachos with chopped beef and other topping. That alone is filling but taste so amazing. Dinner we usually get chicken enchilada with mole sauce and smashed beans and Mexican rice and chicken fajitas with same sides. Both dishes are so delicious. Chicken fajita is always cooked perfect. I can honestly go on forever. Honestly you just have to experience this great restaurant. Usually don't write about all the places I eat at because I never felt so satisfied to give a place a time of day for even a simple review. My future wife and I drive 45 minutes at least ever 2 weeks just to eat here. With the friendly atmosphere and staff that makes you feel welcomed; I absolutely recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!!! Ate here last night with some family that came to town. Food was pretty good. Guacamole was a little bland the quesadilla pretty good and the enchilada's above average. What was not ok was the service. It started out with a very polite young man waiting on our table who was quite attentive but then it took more than 30 minutes before we saw him again. We had to stop one of the other waiters to get them to send him back over. No excuses were given for the inattention. I know that s#$t happens and staff gets overwhelmed or someone doesn't show up for a shift but please just keep the customers informed and we will be a lot happier. read more

The food is ok but expensive for Mexican. Expect to pay between $30-$40 per person, more if you have more than one cocktail. The most annoying thing about this place they close at 10pm on Friday nights. We arrived for dinner at 8:15pm and promptly at 10pm after they had cleared our dishes and asked if we wanted anything else our waitress announced that they are closed and asked us to leave! I came here for my birthday. The food was ok but nothing outstanding. We had a large party of 16. We asked that our orders be placed on separate checks so we won't have to figure everyone's bill out and where told they can't do that. We sat there for 20 min with no drinks and no chips and salsa. My husband had to ask for it. They never gave everyone water which is usually the first thing places do. It was not busy but we still waited an hour for our food. The topper was we brought a cake and they charged us 16 dollars for plates and some plastic spoons. We will NEVER go back. Service sucked and they seemed like they just didn't want to be bothered. read more

We went on a Saturday night around 6:30. The place was not busy... margaritas were good (a little sweet). I think the waitress was new because she seemed unsure about a lot of things. It took over 30 minutes to get our appetizers/soup/salad. Then another 30 minutes or more to get our food. Like I mentioned, the place was not busy. Finally when our food came, my friend ordered beef tacos with no cilantro and he received steak tacos with cilantro. My boyfriend got filet and I must say it definitely was not filet. It was tougher than tough and he got it cooked medium. Definitely not worth the $25 that it cost. I got the seafood chimichangas. They were good, but I hate when places pour sauce on top of chimichangas. They are fried for a reason and with sauce on them they turn mushy. The rice and beans did not have much flavor to them. a group of 6 women, ages 45 to 65ish, went there for drinks Friday evening at 5:30m pm We were not even greeted, the owner was very rude. We finally got drinks and asked to sit on the patio and were told no because it MIGHT rain. 10 minutes later he seated 2 other parties on the same patio, and the weather was still the same, not one change. When I asked him why they could sit outside and not us he got very nasty saying it goes by the weather and if I didn't like it, too bad. Since this was obviously not the case I said fine, whatever and told the others to finish the drinks as we didn't need to stay where we were treated rudely. He heard the word rude apparently, spun around and asked what I said. I told him he had been rude since we walked in at which point he proceeded to SCREAM GET THE FUCK OUT at least 10 times and then called me a dirty bitch. I have never been treated this way in my life. I cannot he spoke to a woman like this, no less a customer, for asking about the patio seating. His own sister won't work there any longer because of the abuse and he appeared either extremely drunk, high or both. Putting visine in his eyes over and over. After reaching out to the community I was told he has done this to other people also. I strongly recommend no one ever go into this establishment. To make matters worse the food hasn't been good for 2-3 years. If this is how he speaks to women he should be out of business!! read more

First, the restaurant is clean, neat, nice decor, upscale. Second, the food is of very good quality. Third, the service is quite good. But... This restaurant is the victim of its own ex-patriot Mexican owners. Their view of American tastes and preferences makes the food bland and unadventurous. My Pollo Mole Poblano was neither sweet of spicy and quite frankly was the most lacking in flavor of ANY Pollo Mole Poblano I have ever had in 35 years of visiting Mexican restaurants all over the USA and Mexico. My companions also complained about the lack of flavor, while acknowledging the overall quality of the food. My recommendation for the Mexican owners is that they should NOT underestimate the adventurous nature of the American palate. I am used to Mexicans giggling as this pasty white American tucks into muy picante platos all over Mexico, only to be astonished as it is all consumed.
