With our group guide that helped with pics and feeling comfortable!

My first Cenote experience and I was glad it was here! There are four different Cenotes- 2 covered and 2 open. Variety in one place! It was about 15 minutes from Tulum and a quick 10 minute walk from the ticket booth (if you were dropped at the gates). We got the basic package which is a group tour of the Cenotes. Do buy a phone protector (make sure it fits your phone!), swim shoes and a locker. Have pesos for tipping. They are not shy (nor mean) about being persistent. They also offer add ons like a private tour (I was ok with the group-- our guide knew how to work his audience! Toddlers, adults, water pros and non swimmers), ATVs and zip lining-- I'm unsure of snorkeling. Visiting was a highlight of our trip. There is food offered on site, but we wanted to have lunch/ dinner elsewhere with more time as this was an afternoon activity. Beware if you have mobility issues as there is lots of walking and uneven terrain.

Fernando and Matos were excellent ATV instructors! We stopped here mainly so our friends could experience the ATVs and it was a great time all around! We came here a couple years ago and returned because of the great service. They had zip lines, ATVs, food and fun, what more could you ask for?!

We went here as part of our ship excursion to Tulum and it was absolutely breathtaking! The water is so clear, there's fish swimming around in the cenotes too. Lots of little areas to explore like a walkway thru a mangrove forest, multiple cenotes (open and thru caves) and a zip line to boot. There's a cafe spot with bean bag chairs you can get some drinks or bites, showers (you're required to shower before you enter the cenotes) and bathrooms/lockers in the front (our guide told us not to use the lockers in the front but to leave them on our bus). Absolutely a must do while in Tulum!

I highly recommend this place for those who want something away from the big crowds. This place is basically a cenote park. Your admission will allow you to go through four different cenotes. The customers were split up into small groups and each group was guided through the cenotes one by one. Some of the cenotes were more like large holes, with one of them being over 40 feet deep! But others were more like a river that the group had to swim through. Most visitors who go to cenotes end up going to one of the big ones that are included on a sightseeing tour, but those ones can have over 100 people at one cenote. At Casa Tortuga, we saw no more than 20 people at each cenote. The staff were super friendly too.

We booked this last minute two days before the tour! We received a confirmation email and text via whatsapp where our time of pickup was also confirmed. We were the first one to be picked up as we were staying at the Royal Haciendas in Playa del Carmen. The rest of the pickups were on the way to Tulum. They were only a hand full of stops. We did not mind because the bus was cool from the air conditioning. We spend a couple hours at the Tulum Ruins and a Couple hour at the Tulum Cenotes. Our guide Sandro also let us know that the 2 hours were Mexican hours and not to rush and to enjoy the cenotes. I recommend Cancun Sightseeing and will book with them again when we return to the Mayan Riviera. We booked this Tulum Ruins and Cenotes through expedia.

Casa Turtuga Cenotes in Tulum was an amazing experience for us. Beautiful everywhere you look. They do take credit cards now but it comes with an extra fee aside from the expensive entry fee. Jumping from the rocks was a plus for me, 15 feet wasn't much but it give me freedom to fly. There is a lot of contraction inside next to one of the cenotes and not everything is natural anymore, but Its a great place to enjoy.

This place was awesome! We went in thinking we're just checking out one small cenote but they actually have multiple! Not only that, we also went zip lining. It's basically a water park. Afterwards, we went to their beach club and guess what? MORE CENOTES. Multiple ones we did cliff jumping from which was so fun. Beach club had a bit of a fly problem though but aside from that, everything was pretty chill

What comes to mind when you think of a tropical vacation?…read more Azure blue water and white sand beaches? Thatched roofs? Palm trees? Palapas with hammocks? Friendly, laid-back guesthouse hosts? This place has those things. It's what you want. Do you really want to fly all the way down to the tip of Mexico to hang out with elevnty-billion other Americans? Hell fuck no. You come here to carve out a slice of serenity. Warm, sandy, sticky serenity. Casas Del Corazon offers a strong chill vibe. Located on Soliman Bay, just a few clicks north of Tulum, this is the place to go to be removed from the action, but close enough to enjoy restaurants, etc. But during the day, the beach is yours. Corazon consists of a few casas of varying sizes. Adobe walls, thatched roofs, plantation blinds with screens, ceiling fans, some A/C, kitchens in units, a small pool, nice palapas, kayaks and SUP boards for use, and a lot of time to do a whole lot of nothing. The hosts here are friendly and laid back. From Virginia, they made the right choice. Buy property on the beach, bail out, and live the life. They were present to assist us but not up in our business. Perfect balance. Plenty of good advice and lots of resources. Accommodations are comfortable. Not luxury, but just the kind of thing we wanted. We could open the blinds at night and let the breeze blow through the room. Our kitchen was stocked out and ready to rock. And if you want to pay, they have someone who can come in and cook dinner for you. You can see my main downside to this place in my review of Soliman Bay itself, but as far as the accommodations themselves, I loved the mix of traditional, rustic and modern. Just writing this makes me want to go back!

Now having stayed in the Tulum area in a few different methods- we enjoyed each in a different way…read more Here at LPM, as everyone has said, the welcome was warm and informative. Tom explained via a personalized drawn map of the area- including taxi pricing, favorite restaurants and tips for activities- and all turned out to be very helpful. Checked in to the treehouse suite, which was good size for us plus our 6 year old. Room includes hot water, fresh water bottles, a safe and plenty of large fans- the fans (during out November stay) were perfectly great to chill down at night- even needing a light jacket in the early morning. On the down side, we are used to the nature and the bugs, that is why we come down here of course, and critters are part of it- so if staying on the jungle side, expect to see more ants and things. My main criticism was the gas smell that came through the windows at busy times of the day- because of the generators pumping and the constant taxis outside, the gasoline did bother me. However, the positives well outweighed any negative- we spent most our time out on the beach of Maalix- they were hospitable, we ate and drank in their bar and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Also spent time cooking in LPM's kitchen, which was a welcome bonus of staying in LPM. Pick up a few staples on your way in from town at Chedruai or borrow a bike from LPM and swing over to pick up fruit, veggies, breakfast items, juices, butter, milk etc... Aside from cooking in the communal kitchen- you can find great fresh lobster and fish next door at Simple, yummy brick oven pizza at La Onda about 6 shops down - and then keep going, your options of bars and tacos on the beach are endless. The location, if you want to stay out of the fray of people, even the beaches down on this side are quieter than further north near the town and shops. All in All, it's great that you can pretty much feel free to enjoy the property and the area; no one bothers you about rules and regulations on the beach, as long as you are respectful. We felt safe and well cared for. OH! Try the fresh fruit plate from their cafe in the front on the street side, a wide variety of fresh cut fruits- delicious granola and yogurt. We will be back next time we venture down to southern Quintana Too!

Tom is a superb host and goes above and beyond ensuring his guests are well taken care of. Daily housekeeping service was a nice & unexpected bonus. We had fresh towels (one for beach & one for bath), filtered drinking water, and an onsite communal kitchen area for cooking & hanging out. Enjoyed delicious food and friendly service at the onsite restaurant. Malika and staff are great. The accommodations exceeded my expectations, and I slept well every night in the treetop suite. 24/7 electricity & AC avail from 8p-5a. Great showers thanks to strong water pressure & hot/cold water. Easy breezy beach access directly across the street via La Eufemia. Parking avail for our compact rental car-- which was a real "amenity" considering beach road has very limited parking options. Book directly from the Las Palmas Maya website for the best deal. Tom will take good care of you! Muchas gracias to LPM-- my Tulum vacation was everything I was hoping for & more!!

It's a small bay just north of Tulum, lined with vacation rentals. Most of them are rented via Akumal Vacations, however many are individually owned. It's a quiet little spot with pelicans, white sand, calm water, and a warm, shallow bay. There's pretty much nothing going on here, and that's why you come to a place like this. We stayed at the Casas del Corazon here, which could merit its very own review. Situated centrally, we could walk down to the "hotel" on the north end, as well as the tiny convenience store El Bob. On the other end of the beach sits a small "restaurant" that's actually just a beach shack selling fish and ceviche. It closes early and is only open some days. Things here happen when they happen, and everything runs at its own speed. As for the bay, it's a solid spot for SUP'ing, kayaking, running on the beach, some snorkeling, and watching pelicans dive for the large school of small fish that hang out in the shallows. No motorized rentals or anything. Just mellowness. But what more do you need than hammocks, white sand beaches, water and a cold margarita? Nada mucho. Why four stars? Well, there's kind of this section between the shoreline and about 35 feet out that's rocky with shells and grass before you get out to the real sandy-bottomed water. So it's not actually the best setup for just wandering out into the bay. You can swim through it/over it, or grab one of the kayaks that I'm sure your vacation rental will have and kayak out to an anchor at the reef mid-bay to do some snorkeling (which is passable). But as far as perfect vacation spots go, if that didn't exist, this would be paradise. I'd definitely come back here again, if only to avoid the traffic and turistas and chaos of Tulum. Seems like Mexicans rent these houses too, so it's not just a shitload of Norte Americanos. Which is awesome. The proximity to Tulum is super nice. Protip: You need to get food/drinks either on the way in from Cancun airport or in Tulum. The selection is MUCH better on the way from Cancun.

For years, we stayed at all-inclusive resorts, but recently turned in favor of more off-the-beaten path properties that afford you the chance to explore the city a little bit more, since meals aren't available 24/7. We found a nice house on VRBO that ended up being managed by Playacar Vacation Rentals. You'll find it on their website as Casa Stavola / F8. It was a perfect beachfront property located in Playcar Phase I that housed six of us! With a pool, full kitchen, large living room and lots of amenities, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Our place was well situated to the rest of town but felt very quiet the second you entered the Phase I complex. We arranged our own transportation from the airport but upon arriving to the house, I had to make my way to the vacation rental office to pick up the key. Citlaly was so welcoming and willing to help with whatever we needed. From excursions to taxi pickups, they can do it all. We used them to rent a boat one afternoon and everything went flawlessly. The properties themselves are very well managed. There is cleaning service every other day, they provide big jugs of drinking water regularly, staff is around to take care of anything that may break and, all in all, it feels very safe. We are hoping to make this a yearly trip and I imagine us returning to the same exact spot! Really wouldn't change a thing.

A taxi will cost 50-75$ depending on your driver ; rates seem to changed even when coming & going to same location. So having a rental at this location of the hotel might be better idea however please be aware this hotel is down a bumpy long dirt road! Two( Check in) went pretty while expect for the paper signing about 20 papers than I was told to make sure all my signatures matches my passport as they may have to call me back out if the owner does not agree with them ( Wierd) .Also got a free welcome drink of choice which was nice !!! Third( room) ; just as described; I booked the deluxe room which had a private shared pool with 2 others. WIFI went in and out. Pretty bad if you need to do work or school work as I did being I took a summer class.( I didn't allow housekeeping to come while there and I didn't use the safe just to keep everything safe as I read other reviews on Travelocity. Shower Water did get warm after I realized the correct way to turn it ( my fault) ! Fourth( hotel restaurant) it said free breakfast which from reviews I read was free a few months ago it's no longer free the only thing that was is a choice of ( coffee, orange or fruit) you pick 1.. disappointing since that was one of my reason of booking the hotel ! Also breakfast was not too pricey but dinner and drink are like if we're in the us ! No difference in price. I also ordered a certain breakfast plate which they did not make correctly it was missing two items .. Fifth( pool/beach) ; I use the top balcony pool once it was nice with an amazing view. Beach was rocky and had a lot of seaweed I did not even go on the beach even tho it had a lounge chairs . Best part; the view ; staff was very nice & friendly ! It's very secluded & private if that's what your looking for. Covid testing was 120 each usd Covid testing cheaper elsewhere noticed after being taxi too a bar and it's many other places just a heads up but at least they provided it . A doctor will be called to hotel and sent to your room ; get results in a few hours !
