I was in the area for work on a Sunday and with several locals. Being Sunday, our dining options…read morewere pretty limited. We had to book a very early Spanish lunch at 13:30 and got the first table at this establishment. My trip wouldn't have been complete without the proper Spanish meal experience. Our courses consisted of Bread , Little clams (no idea about their actual name, but it's only available on that beach), mussels, calamari, salad, and paella, and coffee. At Lunch. It took 2.5 hours. The bread in Spain is served with a red tomato sauce and a white mayo like sauce that is egg white and olive oil based. Your are intended to mix the two on bread. The rest of the courses, outside of the paella, were good but nothing especial. As it would turn out, this place I was is the true origin of paella, and everywhere else just "isn't the same" according to the locals. I'll have to agree after trying it here. Our final, 6th course, was a mixed paella with shellfish, rabbit, chicken legs, pork, and some kind of liver. It's cooked over an open fire and sized according to the number of people in your party. While I wasn't too into the meat selection, the shellfish, veggies, and rice were excellent and I enjoyed the flavor from the meat. As a pro tip from a local, you have to use the spatula to scrape the bottom of the paella pan to get all the flavor. Amazing in deed. I can't say anything bad about the place and a 7 course meal for 5 people was only €160, which included 4 drinks per person. (calm down it was non alcoholic beer, it's a working lunch)

We stayed not far away from here for a few nights. On the arrival day we looked for a restaurant…read moreclose to our vacation rental and found this. Located on the promenade by the beautiful Playa Del Arenal it boasts a great location. It's a Chiringuito/beach bar (in a huge tent with lots of tables), so we didn't expect too much. But in the end this place suprised us with lots of interesting items on the menu, which were all cooked wonderfully. More about that later. Staff was really friendly and our dog was welcome as well. Prices are fair. It's also a great location if you wanna take a dip in the water sometimes. We just took turns going into the water and staying back with our dog (which is not allowed on the beach). As long as you have a drink or a soda nobody minds here. It was summer, blue skies....wonderful weather. But still the beach was pretty quiet. Which was nice. Let's talk about food. We came back the other days for lunch and dinner (they open until after midninght, kitchen is opened through). We enjoyed the food so much. Here's what we've had: - Mussels (good load, fresh) - Chicken and fries (again: nice size, hot and cripsy fries) - Jamon Y Queso (Jamon was freshly slized from a whole leg) - Flan for dessert (just ok) - Fried Fish Platter (great and fresh Calamari, Sardines, Octopus, Fish Filets; really good) - Razor Clams (nice dressing with good olive oil and herbs) - Paella Marisco (mussels, shrimp, calamari) - Fries with Queso - Fried Baby Squid (fantastic, fresh, tasty, crunchy) - Fried Egg Plant with Sugar and Balsamic vinegar - Fideua Paella (the alternative pasta version of Paella; nice size and presentation, with mussels, shrimp and calamari) Besides the Flan dessert, which was just average, all items tasted really good and were cooked by order. A great variety of food on the suprisingly big menu (for a beach bar). Fresh items, talented cook, friendly staff, and beautiful location. All that for an affordable price. We loved it very much. There was still more stuff to try on the menu....but we didn't have any days left in this town. Highly recommended!

Paella! Our group of four was so excited to try paella here in Valencia because (1) none of us had…read moreeaten it before, and (2) what better place to try it than at in Valencia, its birthplace? I'm glad to have gotten it out of the way because I don't see myself eating it again for a very long time. It's not that the food was bad, but it's a lot. We shared the seafood paella and the traditional paella. I mostly had the seafood paella but I did try a few bites of the traditional one with rabbit and escargot. The seafood was fresh, and there was a healthy amount of prawns and squid. If you're not really into seafood or can't stand too much of the aroma or essence of seafood, do NOT get it because it is strong. After a while I got sick of the seafood flavor, which isn't a knock on the food, but a lesson that paella simply needs to be complemented with other foods. The traditional paella was quite good as well, and neither had rice that was too burnt (which I liked). I also didn't think the escargot and rabbit were particularly special. Again, portions were tremendous and I think we all left very, very full. Keep in mind that you need at least two people ordering paella in order to get it. It runs at about 18€ per person for any paella, which isn't on the low end, but you do get filled up since it's all rice.

They are served family style which I do particularly enjoy. It is a little expensive but the food is good and it is in a convenient location. There wine selection is also pretty good in my opinion, I do know they have some local options.
