Adorable little hotel in the main square of Carmona…read more
It adjoins a very old building with adorable period courtyards and features. It very much matches the city itself with it's crooked, steeped, in history feel. This is a very beautiful old building that is well kept and maintained.
We were greeted by a lovely lady who was very friendly, gave us lots of information about the area, maps and showed us how to open the coded doors for when we came home that night.
The room itself was lovely with a great deal of character, the bathroom featuring the wonderful blue tiles found frequently in this region, and the bedroom antique style furniture. They put a lot of effort into the general upkeep and appearance of this place, using good quality cosmetics in the bathroom, and the bedding being good quality and clean.
However although we were put in the back room due to fireworks being let off due to the festive celebrations in the square, we were still kept awake with all the noise from the other residents. The bell that they put on the key-ring, which at first we found adorable, turned very annoying when listening to others trying to open their doors in the night. It really wasn't a peaceful rest.
Additionally the bed was just terrible, I sat on the end and it tipped up! We found ourselves unable to get comfy and woke tired the next morning.
The shower however had amazing pressure and was very much a redeeming feature, spacious and luxurious.
A lovely place, extremely quirky, very central, but really not practical for a good nights sleep I'm afraid, which is why I have not given this place a higher rating.
