This is a traditional Yucatan cuisine restaurant at the Marriott Cancun resort. Set in a palapa, the ambience is authentic, and service excellent. The food was overall good, for starters we had shrimp in aguachile sauce, and a cheese and veggies tamal, both excellent. Main courses were Tikin Xiic Kay, a traditional marinated fish cooked in banana leaf; very good, and Tsaaj Wakax, a fried ribeye with chili serrano and guacamole, less convincing. For desserts we had NA; mixed fruit with jelly and mezcal, and Ch'ujuk T'oox, a sort of beignets served with agave honey; both very good. This was a culinary voyage into Mayan cuisine, very exotic, but I suggest you ask in advance if a dish is spicy if you're not comfortable with hot food. read more
