I spent the whole day out and about in the city center and was too tired to look for a place to eat in the "city-city", so I headed back to my rental apartment, remember that there were some restaurants in the area. It was a cold, rainy night and the lights from Barto (and the red Christmas trees outside the front door) beckoned me. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was in the right place. It was warm, friendly and the place was buzzing with diners. Also, it smelled amazing. I was also greeted promptly and picked a small table in the front so I could watch people rushing on the street as well as the historic Château de Vincennes, just across the street. Ahhhhhh. Since it was cold, I warmed myself up with their lasagna. It was lovely and the sides and top were burnt (on purpose) to perfection. It was hot. It was delicious. I would eat it again ... and again. Its goooood. I also treated myself to dessert and got the Crostata Di Mela (an apple tart) that came with a side of vanilla ice cream. Not stopping myself by any means, I also got their specialty coffee called the Barto'ccino. I can't tell you exactly why it was so special but I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the dollop of LEGIT cream on top. Its the real deal and you can taste the difference from your ordinary cappuccinos. The real cream is magical and I consumed it ALL! So, if you are in the area (Zone 2 for those using the RER or Metro), this is a wonderful stop for a meal. Sit back. Relax. Enjoy the quieter street in the Paris area and take it all in. Yum-a-yum.

Great place, good food, nice people but I did wait a while to get the check. In their defense it…read morewas pretty busy. I'm a pretty basic eater so I started with Eggplant parmesan and the Jen Jen (Delicious pasta and Pomodoro sauce) for the main. Definitely going back. I highly recommend.

The service was super helpful, and they even had English menus if you ask, which was a lifesaver because the menu can feel a bit overwhelming if you don't read French. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing. You MUST try the appetizers ! I had the Prosciutto di Parma DOP, and when the caption says "unforgettable thin slices of prosciutto," they are not lying. I still dream about it - so fresh, so flavorful. 10/10. And you must must MUST try the Arancini al tartufo - a literal 1000/10. If I hadn't ordered so much food, I would've ordered a second round. I honestly can't even describe how good they were... you just have to order them and see for yourself. I also had the La fameuse pâte à la truffe, which was amazing. It was my first time trying truffle pasta, and it definitely has a strong taste - so it can be hit or miss for some people - but I personally really enjoyed it. If you're sharing, definitely order a pizza. You honestly can't go wrong with any pizza you choose. BEST PART ! You cannot leave without trying the Il tigramisù - a solid 10000/10. If you're going to try tiramisu anywhere, let it be here, I promise. They also had a banana one, the Banoffeemisù, which my friend absolutely raved about (sadly I didn't get to try it, but she loved it!).

We sat in a table in a very cramped alleyway. The menu didn't really have that many vegetarian options on it and so I ended up going with the Taglioni Pomodoro Basilico dish and got a spritz as well. The spritz was decent, but definitely not as good as the ones I've had in Italy and was slightly more expensive too. There was more of a bitter taste then there was a sweet taste. The pasta was also decent. You could definitely taste that the pasta was homemade (and not frozen) and there was a lot of red sauce on the pasta, but there was a weird aftertaste with the pasta that came from the ricotta and burrata cheese. It's supposed to be rich, but it definitely felt uncomfortable at times. I would've rather had the pasta with just the sauce. They also give you a block of parmesan and a grater for the table which is great because you get fresh parmesan and you get to choose how much you want. Not the best pasta in the world, but if you want something homemade, definitely give this place a try.
