This place can be missed if you are walking too fast or perhaps driving, no signage, nothing popping out of the ordinary from the outside. I have tried a few things here and from what I have tried, I like it pretty much.
Esfiha de coalhada com azeitonas pretas: fresh curd and black olive sfiha. Can't really describe this, curd gets soft but not runny, chicks of pitted black olives is a great surprise in taste, and dough is soft but it holds its filling pretty well. It's a must try.
Also tried the esfiha de coalhada com tatar, pretty unique but not as good as the one with black olives. Would totally skip this one.
Tough what I keep coming for more it's the desserts! It's made fresh by a Syrian immigrant. To be honest, they have the best baklava IMHO! Filled with pistachios, a hint of rose water, honey, and it's phylo dough... OMG! Crunchy but not tough, very delicate though all those many layers and tasty too!
Why not 5 stars then? Wait staff sucks and it takes some special skill to get their attention to put an order in, pretty expensive for the experience, food is great but service, and considering the way it's setup like a diner with no much AC it feels like dining inside an over during hot days; though there is a second floor which belongs to the restaurant, AC works but service is slow here too. read more
