A hair raising cab ride to get to this restaurant, but the views the food, and the whole experience were worth it. This is a restaurant to take your time in to relax and enjoy. The views are amazing - for some reason we had fireworks that night which added to the fun. There is live music throughout the evening as well. Each of our dishes were tasty and the drinks were good, too. No complaints - which is a good thing because the cab ride back to the resort was terrifying!!!

Casa Isabel has extremely surpassed my expectations. Check in was a breeze and got a free drink upon check-in. The room was extremely clean and spacious. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast was served every morning. The location of this hotel is phenomenal, the view was exceptional.

Filet mignon, baked potato and asparagus

Phenomenal! During my two week visit to Puerto Vallarta I dined at many restaurants... Casa Isabel is in the top three. My experience there was top notch from start to finish! We made a reservation for 6pm so we could watch the sunset. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant. I ordered the filet mignon with asparagus and a baked potato. The filet was delicious! It was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy with a minimal amount of fat. The asparagus and baked potato was good too. I didn't realize that it was served with sour cream though so that kinda sucked. I'm not fond of sour cream and it was all over the potato. It wasn't like it was just on top. Still the meal was highly enjoyable. We ordered a number of drinks as well. I had a Mai Tai, Rum punch and a limonada. They were all very good. My brother had some Mexican coffee which he loved. They make it for you right at the table which was a spectacle within itself! If you drink coffee you must try it. For dessert I had the chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream. It was pretty good too. The views only had to the experience. They're spectacular! I highly doubt checking out Casa Isabel if you're in Puerto Vallarta.

This is our go to place in Puerto Vallarta to stay and our favorite place to have dinner and watch the sunset. Isabel is such an awesome person and treats her guests wonderfully. The food at the restaurant is amazing and the service is excellent. Fun ambiance with a full bar and romantic tables for a date night. The rooms in the hotel are beautiful and we love hanging out by the pool just admiring the view of the ocean and the mountains. There's no other place we enjoy returning to than Casa Isabel's!

Spectacular! Is probably the best way to describe the views at this hilltop Mexican bar & grill. If you have the opportunity to venture out before sunset you won't regret the amazing views. After the awe inspiring views I'd recommend having some drinks and appetizers and continue to gaze out into the ocean. Nice and cozy establishment offering live music and good local food. Prices are moderately higher than most other nearby comparable restaurants but the vistas are priceless. Two tier Bar & Grill but I'd recommend heading upstairs to the top tier bar for unobstructed sights.

You have to pluck a third of the meat with your fingers just to get the tortilla to structurally hold. There is always a line. You eat what you order and leave behind your self respect. The dining room is packed tighter than a turtle's pecker. A dozen staff members move around each other like bees tending the hive, the rhythm wild and relentless. The tacos themselves are intimidatingly large, the vibe unlike anything I have ever seen. It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. We paired that with the prime rib tacos, it was a plate stacked with meat and 4 tortillas under it, more than we could eat. The seasoning was great, it was diced so small that it was easy to eat. Vegans are easy please. Give them clear marked options, even if there is one option, we are pleased. This place had a few clearly marked options plus the staff was fully aware and can provide suggestions. The only downside it is a cash only place. Guacamole and chips - fantastic. The guacamole freshly prepared and chips fresh fried. Amazing. The 3 types of vegan tacos we got were vegan chorizo, mushrooms and cactus (trying for the fist time). The vegan chorizo was the best, slightly spicy but not overly. The poblano peppers were predictable but very good. The onions with it were a good addition. Nicely seasoned and prepared. The cactus was good, we found that it was less seasoned. Just stir fried cactus. The star of all the three types tacos was the fresh blue corn tacos. We could have those everyday. The other superb tasting was the salsas and fresh toppings. 4 types of salsas, white onions and cilantro. The salsa were of varying different levels of heat and even the mildest salsa was the best. The virgin margarita and virgin mojito were great. Margarita being slightly better even though we love mint. Good atmosphere, clean surrounding and great service and vegan food - what more can one ask?

The entire front portion of the restaurant sits directly in the sand, so that's where we chose to have breakfast--under the iconic palapa roof, feet in the sand, overlooking the ocean. From our table you can watch the fishing boats and excursion boats heading out for the day, which gives the whole experience a relaxed, resort-like rhythm without feeling touristy or rushed. Service was excellent from the start--attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. They brought out a selection of pastries you can add if you want, like banana bread and cinnamon rolls, which felt like a thoughtful touch rather than an upsell. The coffee was very good, with plenty of options ranging from cappuccinos and café lattes to classic American coffee, all well prepared. For food, I ordered the scrambled eggs with Mexican chorizo, refried beans, and hash browns. It came with a basket of warm corn tortillas and several house salsas, letting you customize each bite. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and clearly made with care. We also ordered the shrimp eggs Benedict with spinach, which was beautifully done--rich, balanced, and fresh, with the shrimp cooked just right. One thing that really stands out is the ambiance. Being right on the beach, hearing the waves, feeling the breeze, and being encouraged (without being told) to slow down and take your time makes the meal feel like part of the vacation itself, not just fuel for the day. They also offer freshly squeezed juices, which pair perfectly with breakfast by the ocean. The menu is extensive, almost overwhelming in a good way--there are so many appealing options that it's genuinely hard to decide. That said, what we ordered was absolutely delicious and satisfying, and it left us wanting to come back and try more. Overall, La Palapa delivers on every level: location, atmosphere, food, and service. It's the kind of place where breakfast turns into a memory, not just a meal.
