In winter, my SUV slid on the ice and hit a snowbank, which damaged the lower part of the bumper. I…read morefiled a claim with MPI in Manitoba, and the dealership recommended Birchwood Collision in Winnipeg. While there, I noticed another customer was very dissatisfied with their paint job. Regardless, Birchwood Collision ordered the necessary parts and installed a new bumper. When I picked up my vehicle, I noticed the lights weren't working properly and had to bring it back for them to fix the issue. A week later, a dash warning appeared indicating a problem with the electronic brake--an issue I'd never had before. When I called Birchwood Collision about it, they denied any responsibility, insisting it wasn't related to their work, despite my explanation that this was a new problem. Two to three weeks after the repair, the wrapped grille at the bottom of the bumper detached. I returned to the shop, and they initially agreed to fix it. After about a week, they called saying the repair was completed, but the grille was still not properly installed. I pointed this out to the staff, who admitted it wasn't correct and said they'd look at it again. Two weeks later, they told me the grille wasn't covered under the insurance claim. When I questioned this--since the grille was located just a couple of inches from the damaged area--they advised me to contact MPI. After waiting for about 10-15 minutes, they claimed they had reported the issue to MPI and that I should wait for a response. When I followed up with MPI, I learned Birchwood Collision had reported the grille damage as "wear and tear" without telling me. I found their conduct dishonest, irresponsible, and unprofessional. They advertise a warranty on their repairs but avoid taking responsibility and always make excuses instead of fixing issues properly. I would never take my vehicle back to them and strongly recommend avoiding this shop and their misleading practices.

I contacted Birchwood Roadside Assistance when needing my vehicle towed to Birchwood Kia West for…read moreservicing, and they notified me that Bison Towing would be the provider for this service. It took all afternoon, from my initial SMS from Birchwood Roadside Assistance saying that the truck would be there at 1:05 pm, until my phone call to Birchwood Kia West at 6:15 pm to ask if my vehicle had actually been dropped off yet. They also sent another text saying that I would be notified once the driver was assigned, or if the pick up time changed. This didn't happen. A third text message was received at 12:25 or so saying that the driver was on the way. I waited in my vehicle until 1:30 pm and then called Bison Towing. Dispatcher at Bison gave incorrect info re pick up time, interrupted me while I was speaking, and made excuses for driver. Driver arrived at 3:25 pm and finally drove away with my vehicle at 3:50 pm after confirming with me that the vehicle was to be brought to Birchwood Kia West (he showed me on his phone, and I also repeated to him that it was the correct drop off location). I noticed another SMS from Birchwood Roadside Assistance at 3:28 pm saying that my vehicle was loaded up and on it's way to the drop off location. Another lie, at 3:28 the driver had only just arrived, and I took a picture at 3:50 pm as the tow truck was pulling away from my location. I notified Birchwood Kia for the second time re the delay caused by Bison Towing, and that I had now missed my scheduled service appointment. At 5:25 I received a phone call from the tow truck driver ASKING ME WHERE TO BRING MY VEHICLE! I told him yet again, and he made some excuse about driving to another part of the city and that the dealership there told him they didn't know anything or have an appointment booked for my vehicle. I called the dispatcher again and asked for the name and phone number for the manager, which she either would not or could not give me. She said the driver was given the wrong address. I asked again for the manager's info and she said I should call back tomorrow and she would transfer the call to him then. I insisted that I wanted the contact info so she said she would "check and see if he is still in the office", then came back on the phone and said the manager would call me in a few minutes. He did, and after interrupting me and making another excuse for the driver (he said the tow truck had broken down) I became very angry and told him I just wanted to know where my vehicle was, and when it would be brought to the dealership, if at all! At this point it was 5:45, just 20 mins after the call from the driver asking where he was supposed to bring my vehicle, AND the service department at Birchwood Kia West had already closed at 5:00 pm. He asked "may I talk now?" and told me that my vehicle was at Birchwood Kia West. I terminated the call at this point, and did call the dealership a while later to confirm that my vehicle actually did make it there. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever received in my entire life! Avoid Bison Towing at all costs! An interesting side note.... when you click on the FB link on Bison's website, it takes you to a FB page called Bison Towing LLC in Midland, Texas. As well, Birchwood Roadside Assistance is administered through Nation Motor Club Inc in Boca Raton, Florida. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS/ BUY CANADIAN! I am so sorry that I didn't call CAA instead.
