No deed was even needed. It was a nightmare to fix. They took every, single penny my mother's estate had and came back for more. Never even getting my mom the services she needed. David is quite the salesman. However what he's selling is way over priced and packed with a lot of smoke and mirrors . We " bought into his program " which in review was twice what we needed to pay . We never did meet with David about our trust but were passed off to associates . Had a review meeting that was just a way to " upsell " . Then needed to change trustee and were asked for $5500 to do this , when I asked the associate why it was so much to just change a name on probably 6 pages he just said " that's our price " . Ok - that's your price ,but why ? No answer just that's the way it is . We then I went to another reputable law office that does trust work - had my entire trust estate redone - including a special needs situation for less than carrier wanted to update 6 pages . We have sent a couple or requests to this law office and they were ignored. We are now filing a 6 figure law suit for the breach of law pratices in Michigan and I am sure will prevale. This is a shister company and I advise all to stay away. read more

We had a terrible experience with Carrier Law. They claimed to be experts in Medicaid application and estate planning, but they failed to deliver. The initial consultation was a high-pressure sales pitch, "You can't afford not to hire us". The fees they stated were $31,000 paid up front which is not how a legitimate attorney charges fees. Time is of the essence with Medicaid applications but they never looked at it until over 6 weeks after the $31,000 was paid. A simple in state property transfer took them 5 months to complete. They promised they would get more than their fees and that might have been true if they had done the work in a timely manner. 6 months into the ordeal my brother demanded to talk with David Carrier and 4 weeks later they finally submitted the Medicaid application. My father requested a meeting to explain how they could justify the $31,000 in fees they showed up with a 6 inch stack of papers to show how much work they had done. Well, I guess you're paying for paper with this firm, we assumed we were paying for results. Then they had the audacity to ask to negotiate a payment plan with the nursing home so that they have a better relationship with the nursing home for future referrals. Guess what they never followed up with him so we have no idea if they tried to negotiate and failed or if they just dropped that ball too. Based on the other reviews, as I suspect their fees vary widely and are decided after they review how much cash you have. Very slick wealth transfer, your wealth transferred to them. I would not recommend them unless you have a very simple estate with few assets. They assign inexperienced attorneys who are not supervised. Your job is to try to oversee them and hope for the best. read more

Not a good experience for me. It seems that the 5 star reviews are from people commenting on the staff being friendly and helpful and because all the advice and the meetings are free (at first). The 1 star reviews come from people who are trying to implement their trusts and have run into problems. These problems, either cannot be fixed or would be very expensive to fix. Carrier offers to fix the mistakes created by them for a fee and they do not guarantee favorable results. Eventually, Carrier convinced us that we needed their overpriced $7,000 trust. At the time, I thought that they had been very friendly and helpful and that the exorbitant price meant that they were more knowledgeable and experienced. That definitely was not true! I was uncomfortable when they had me sign off a deed that had my name and my husband's name on it for 45 years. I had another lawyer look over this trust and was told that it would have been safer to leave both our names on the deed. He questioned other things about the trust (he also wondered why it was so large and filled with a lot of pages). I have no confidence in this trust and worry about additional problems down the road. Having a new trust made would cost me more money and it would reset the Medicaid 5 year look back period. Therefore, I'm not comfortable starting over with a new trust. Be aware of the free services, you will pay dearly in the end. read more

The support staff was excellent. Elyse, Stacy, and Barb are amazing. But beware, if you have real estate to sell, and they refer you to an agent he's a crook. They promise a reduced commission and actually you get charged more. They referred me to this crook, and then would do absolutely nothing to help rectify the disaster. We had an issue with the sale of my fathers condo on a discrimination issue and I had to hire an outside attorney and pay through the teeth to correct it.
