When I watched John Carney's 'Once' I automatically assumed this was the Hoover shop in question, I mean, if I was the location manager it would have been, there's not a more memorable hoover shop in Dublin.
They definitely know this too, using their notable yellow shop front as their web page template. In fact, you should really check out they're web page for the groovy old photographs of the, sadly, now deceased founder and all-round, rock-n-roll, hoover show-man extraordinaire, Joe English. The company is now run by his son and, despite playing a great underdog, I was as astonished as David D to find that they are basically the most successful hoover related company in Dublin. Amazing.
I like this hoover place, the more and more I think about it, as soon as I have some floor, I'm going to the Carrick Hoover Centre for my hoover. I've always thought those Henry hoovers seem pretty good, I think I'd probably get one of them. read more
