If you come to Sitges, the best bet is to get a rental property of course. The hotels are nice and all, but the local food flare can't be fully absorbed unless you get to a local grocery store!
Not only do they have 60 varieties of cured meat variations in JUST the store brand, but they have the same variety and depth of products you'd find in a large US grocery store. Yes, that means you can leave those heavy liquid toiletries at home for the most part. You can get razors, shampoo, shaving cream. lotion, feminine products, hair styling tools, soaps, dish detergents, fabric softener ... in the same place you can get locally made breads, cheeses and eggs gathered from very local farms. The self-service candy kiosk by the register is my weakness. Everyone knows gummies in this part of the world are like nothing else. They are quality ingredients! Aand because our food standards in the states are so different, everything is just naturally organic food. They don't have to label it as such, that's just how its made!
Reasonably priced too - got out of there with meat, cheese , produce, breads, wine ( yes they have tons of wine and full liquor (top shelf too) all available ) for about $85 to last a little over a week. We of course kept returning for miscellaneous things we needed light lighters and trash bags. It really was so convenient to get everything in one spot versus stopping every time you needed one item at the mini mercats.
Only challege was getting a parking spot at times. Later at night was no issue.
I recommend that once you get to your rental, don't waste 10 mins just go here and get everything and save a TON of stress! read more
