Wow! We bought everything we needed for both a one week vacay for ten and the journey back: 20+ hours in one car.... It is cheap, great quality and lovely store vibe. The check-outs are also superquick and they spoke wonderful English. The store is big, the fruit aisle is a maze - walked around for 15 minutes but couldn't find white/yellow/green grapes, *anywhere*But we really enjoyed this. I got a few particular things I'm really happy with: - 10 Parker Quink Refills for only €3.90! At home that'd be €11,98! - Presents for Mother's Day (spa, nail, make-up) and my sisters birthday (beautiful art supplies) for only €27,57. Back home (I calculated it!!!) would've costed €42,93! But yeah, loved the store, selection of products, check-out. Only thing: it's not really clear what is in what aisle- there's no sign above the path, for example, with "cookies" on it. read more

The supermarket at antibes and has nearness what leaves few choices for grocery shopping. Placed close to the highway exit it allows to make grocery shopping rather easily by going home from work for example. Gas station has nearness + some shops close. Big free parking in front of the supermarket. To avoid absolutely in season just after beach period that is at about 18pm because it is just swarming with people! read more

I LOVE Carrefour! Okay, yes, it is literally the Wal-Mart of France (it's the second-largest retailer in the world, after all) and some stores are better than others. This and the one at Nice Lingostiere are my favorites, though. I've had excellent service at both. Carrefour is a great place to find just about anything you can think of: food, furniture, books, magazines, toiletries, cheap clothing, fishing rods, tools, major appliances...you name it. Even if you're just a tourist and aren't shopping for, say, a new refrigerator, it's fun to walk around and see what's for sale. The American equivalent would probably be a Super Wal-Mart, but some Carrefours are bigger than the biggest Wal-Mart I've ever seen. People who think the French shop only in quaint, little boutiques and at local farmer's markets should come by any Carrefour on a Saturday afternoon. On the other hand, just take my word for it: It's a zoo, with French families filling up their shopping carts for the week. read more

This Carrefour has been around for years and it is the place to shop for the week. From fish, to cheeses, to wine and fruits and veggies, it is a very good quality for the price. Don't be afraid of the fact that it is a supermarket, it is even better then any whole foods in the states. The fish are fresh and cleaned and fillet on the spot all day. Bread and bake goods are baked on the spot as well in the bakery section of the store. You can ask to taste most cheeses at the counter and you will always find good deal if you know how to read. This store sells most everything, like a walmart in the States, but with an exceptional quality. Try it and you'll see. read more
