It's unfair. The principal also has a problem with hiring teachers not only in my 5 grade did I learn racism, sexism, and bullying in all in one year is crazy and no it wasn't from another student it was a whole teacher. A lot of kids were hurt because that teacher made students scared of going to school. I was one of his "bad students" even though I didn't do anything to him, but there was this one student that he hated because of his skin tone and oh my god he went out one second before that bell and he grabbed that student grabbed him from the collar, picked him up, and pinned him against the wall.... that's not even the worst because his excuse was because he was in the military? like hello you shouldn't be around children then??? while in that school we had received so many bomb/shooting threats and none of the teachers cared. Also the food the food wasn't even food I have no Idea on how they serve it now but Omg how it was disgusting.....

I encourage everyone to look at this article if they have a special needs student in the bellflower…read moredistrict . https://educationrightsattorney.com/audit-reveals-bellflower-school-district-neglected-students-with-disabilities/ The Bellower district special education department is terrible specifically Nancy wanna be AOC who has a major attitude and no patience whatsoever. I went in to turn in paperwork to be reimbursed for gas money . I want to put it out there the paper did not have a deadline date . The reason I went In late May because the car insurance renewed early June . Anyways , The older woman in front gave me paperwork to fill out. She told me Nancy was busy that I could make an appointment and come in later. Yeah, nancy was so busy bad mouthing and gossiping about Claudia with the blonde hair with the older woman in front . Stating they didn't like her , Very professional. I filled out the paperwork and handed it in. I barely made it to my car before I got a call from Nancy yelling at me I had missed the deadline to turn in the paperwork. She demanded to know why I had set up an appointment if that was all I needed. I couldn't believe she was treating me that way and yelling at me. I calmly answered her that was the only reason. It took everything in me to be calm and not snap back. I was worried if I snapped there would be retaliation and I wouldn't be reimbursed. She continued to yell at me and finally put me on hold. She calmly told me I could go in and she would approve my paperwork . I'm guessing someone told her to relax . Whenever I have to deal with this department I dread it . Most of the staff is rude and with a poor attitude. I urge the district to read these reviews and do something about the staffs behavior.

As a parent of a child who attends a school in the Bellflower Unified School District, I…read moreoccasionally need to seek services from the main office. My experience today was unfortunately horrible. I am assuming that the employees at this office have recently gone through some sort of safety training and that the policies of this office have changed as the entire building was in complete lockdown. All doors locked, signs saying appointments only and a electronic doorbell at the main entrance. Not knowing for sure what was going on, I rang the bell and was asked if I had an appointment. I said "no" and was greeted by a terse woman who was huffy about having to get up from her chair to open the door for me. I told her that I need to visit an office there to turn in some paperwork. How was I supposed to know that appointments were necessary now? No communication from the School District on this at all. She scolded me for not having an appointment but still let me in. I made my way to the office where I needed to turn some paperwork in. I entered and was greeted with unfriendly stares from 4 employees who were talking with each other. I was asked if I had an appointment. I said no. I said I was happy to make one but no one told me I had to make an appointment now to get services from the Bellflower Unified School District's main office. Very unfriendly looks and zero customer service as I was asked for the name of my student. I was given the paperwork necessary and started to fill it out. Meanwhile, one of the women who was working in the office came over and told me that they've been through a lot and that I should understand that the building is locked down now. I told her that there has been no communication with the customers (parents of children in this School District) and that how was I supposed to know if no one told me. Other employees chimed in and made more excuses about why appointments were necessary now. All the while I was getting dirty looks and treated poorly as if I was not supposed to be there. Finally, someone who I presume was the manager came over and shut the excuses and conversation down and apologized for the new policy. I turned in my paperwork and made my way out. All I can say is that these employees acted like scared mice in their office building and provided zero level of customer service. Dirty looks, excuses, poor attitudes and a general lack of desire to be friendly or helpful was the order of the day here. Exactly who are they supposed to be serving? The parents and the students. I think the employees of the BUSD main office need to understand why they are there and who funds their paychecks. They all need training in customer service on how to do simple things like smile, be friendly and how to not make excuses for poor policies.

Within a few months of my child attending, I decided to pull her out. Though the front staff was…read morevery nice and respectful in the beginning , the teacher and her classroom aids behavior was outlandish. The last straw was when I spoke with the principal about having a parent teacher conference. I did not speak with my daughter about this and called the principal in the car after forgetting I was off for the day. After the conversation, I decided I would pick my daughter up early, instead of driving home and having to turn around and get her. I picked her up and she told me all about how the teacher and her aid loudly spoke in front of the class about how she's not going to meet with me and she's tired of me complaining. I knew she couldn't of made it up, because I just called and spoke with the principal in the CAR and now I'm picking her up 30 mins after the conversation and my 8 year old knew every detail. She said it made her feel uncomfortable and embarrassed.I did follow up with the principal about that. The next week front offices attitudes greatly shifted towards me. That same week, my daughter was accused of writing a note and was verbally reprimanded. Upon investigating it was found that an older student in the bathroom told her to write the note. That was the same student who "found " her with the note and reported her. It was clearly a set up because the older student did not receive any reprimand. There was no follow up and my daughter's verbal reprimand remained. No! I pulled her out at the end of the semester! Another parent pulled their child the following week. Some parents love it and have been there for years no problem so it honestly just depends.

Highly don't recommend any parent to put their children in this school . My daughter attended this…read moreschool since kindergarten, and while things started out fine, her last two years here were very disappointing. The staff are consistently disrespectful and rude, often speaking to the children in an outrageous and unprofessional manner. My child, along with many others, would frequently complain about how the staff treated them--not only during school hours, but also in before- and after-school programs. I had to visit the office several times to address these concerns with the principal, but there was never a real solution. Instead of handling situations appropriately, the staff seems to write students up for the smallest issues--forgetting that kids are just being kids, and not every situation warrants a disciplinary report. The front office staff are equally unprofessional, often speaking disrespectfully to parents and even gossiping about families and students with other staff. This creates unnecessary drama and a toxic environment. Rather than uplifting children, this school tears them down. It claims to be a Christian school, but sadly, the values and conduct of the staff do not reflect Christian principles. After everything my daughter and I experienced, I ultimately made the difficult decision to withdraw her from this school.
