I had a great experience with Carpenter & Zuckerman. My case took almost 4 years, and my attorney Eddie Hovannisian was the person I worked with the most throughout the process. He was always available to answer my questions, kept me updated, and made sure I understood what was going on every step of the way. I really appreciated having someone I could trust during a stressful time. I'm grateful for all of the work that went into my case and would definitely recommend Carpenter & Zuckerman to anyone looking for a personal injury attorney. read more

I do not recommend because Horowitz also works with Carpenter and Zuckerman and he does everything he is told to do by CZ. I retained CZ on Sept 4,2026 and then horowithz was suppose to represent me in a wrongful repossession matter and when I received an additional retainer on septemver 24,2026 which was 15 pages long, due to my disability I used the assistance of Ai to help me understand the 15 page document and generate a few questions to ask, I get a call from CZ telling me that they are no longer going to represent me and also spoke for Horowitz and said that Horowitz was also not going to represent me. I come to find out that the 15 page retainer gave both law firms and one other 99% of any awards or monies I would get from the outcome of my case and I would get only 1%. i was puzzled, shocked, and confused because in that 15 page retainer it also stated that "Client (me) would have to consent to Horowitz Law firms using Ai to assist the law firm in my case. How funny is that? They can use Ai but I'm not allowed to and the minute I did use Ai to Assist me I was told that the firms do not work with or represent clients that use Ai. That's discrimination, and against ADA laws I believe But, I ended up filing a state bar complaint and at the same time found out that Paul Zuckerman of Carpenter and Zuckerman already had state bar complaints filed against them prior to mine. So, no I would not recommend either law firm. read more

I highly recommend the law firm Carpenter & Zuckerman. My case was handled by Partner Aaron Stiegler and I can't say enough good things about him and his team. My family and I were rear ended by a driver on the freeway and the driver fled the scene. My husband was able to get a picture of the driver's license and we called the police. Unfortunately, the police were not able to do anything for us to help identify the driver. We were referred by a friend to Aaron Stiegler at Carpenter Zuckerman and we are so glad we contacted him. Aaron and his team were able to identify the other driver based on the license number we had. They were also able to identify his insurance company. After the other driver's insurance company was notified about the accident, the other driver lied and denied the accident had happened. Our lawyers assured us not to worry and that they would make sure the driver was held accountable. It was really stressful dealing with our injuries and this crazy accident and Carpenter & Zuckerman really helped put us all at ease. In the end our attorney's not only helped us get the medical treatment we needed. They also were able to get the insurance company for the other driver to accept full responsibility and pay us the full policy limit. Highly recommend!! Thank you!!! read more

I am so grateful for the Carpenter and Zuckerman law firm! Everyone played an important role to ensure I received the optimal care for my son's and my case! We were in a terrible rear end collision and the firm always supported us. They softened the blow as the defense for the driver were always rude and hurtful throughout the entire ordeal. I was also so touched that the firm did a "mock" trial in preperation. They sincerely care about their clients. They were my "cheerleaders" and every one of them was so kind. What an incredible team! The final team that worked with me: Benjamin Berkley and Micheal Geragos spent many days and relentless hours to make sure I had the best results possible. I thank them from the bottom of my heart! I truly hope no one ever has a problem in their life that forces them to seek an attorney. I contacted this office based on the recommendation of another lawyer, since they are supposed to specialize in Home Depot cases. But you may not believe it -- after one month of waiting, today they finally told me that they cannot take my case, without giving any reasonable explanation. This is despite the fact that I sent them the demand letter on the very first day. I won't mention any names here because it will make this review too long, but I was completely passed around from one person to another. On the first day, I spoke with a lady who gave me an email address and asked me to send the demand letter there. Then I was told someone would contact me. I ended up speaking with 4-5 different people, and in the end, absolutely nothing happened. I even asked them directly: does a simple "yes" or "no" really require someone to wait an entire month? If it takes this long just to give an answer, then I can't imagine how long it would take if they actually decided to take the case -- probably ten years. My experience with this office was not good at all. I don't care how skilled they may be or what they have done for others -- my personal experience was simply bad. Their service was confusing, inconsistent, and unorganized. You never know who you are actually talking to, who the manager is, or who is responsible for what. I spoke with so many different people and got absolutely no results. And after all my follow-ups, they finally texted me -- after a month -- saying they cannot take the case. I honestly responded that I was happy to hear that, because even if they had accepted it, I no longer wanted them to represent me. This was my personal experience, and I wanted to share it here. read more

No one wants to go through an unexpected traffic collision, much less one where an attorney needs to be retained. Carpenter and Zuckerman, specifically Leon Bassil, made the frustrating process as smooth as can be. Paperwork was exchanged in a timely manner, the staff was organized, and I had clear direction at all times. It was very easy to get a hold of Leon and his team whenever a question arose. I was in a really bad car accident with a commercial vehicle. It was a pretty bad accident resulting me to need immediate medical attention, an ambulance ride, a day at the hospital, and tons of appointments after that. Unfortunately at the time I didn't have medical insurance. So I was beyond scared, confused on what I was going to do, and not prepared to battle against a commercial company. I was referred to CZ law and I am so grateful. From start to finish I was explained every process thoroughly, kept in contact with, and only had to worry about when and where to show up to different appointments and hearings. One of the best parts was Edward Cherkezian. He walked me through the process, didn't give me false expectations, and was honest about everything. I felt relieved, I felt like I had nothing to worry about because I knew him and their whole team was going to fight and do what was best for me. Over a 2 year process and not once was there any problem with their communication. I could call and usually same day would hear back from whoever I tried contacting, someone always answered the phone and Edward was always easily available for any form of communication. When you go through a process like this is beyond scary. You see debt piling up, your injured and personal life never stops. But once CZ law came into the picture everything became completely stress free. I'm beyond happy with my outcome, it was something I never expected and again it's all thanks to them. I appreciate Edward for listening, understanding, and allowing me to have a say in our settlement. He didn't pressure me, he guided me but always cared more about what I wanted and was comfortable with. You have no idea how pushy attorneys can be and at times they can be very intimidating. Never once was that the case. It was a long two years (due to the other party and a personal pregnancy) but again Im so beyond blessed I went through it with Edward and CZ law. I've recommended them already to a few friends and plan on continuing to recommend them. I can't put into words my appreciation for CZ law. I'm truly truly grateful. read more

Carpenter & Zuckerman is nothing more than a bait-and-switch operation that preys on vulnerable clients, only to abandon them when it matters. From the start, their relentless pursuit of my case was alarming--I was constantly hounded by receptionists and intake workers who seemed more interested in signing me up than actually handling my case. It felt like they were chasing some kind of commission or kickback for every client they could rope in. I mistakenly took this as commitment, thinking they were truly dedicated to fighting for me. I provided them with undeniable evidence for my case, including photos, videos, and text messages, all of which they assured me made for a strong case. But after they sent me to medical providers--costing me time, money, and emotional strain--they inexplicably dropped my case without any explanation; just that the attorneys were "too busy at this time". The attorneys handling my case didn't even have the courtesy or decency to have a conversation with me, proving their utter indifference and apathy. I was passed around between different agents, paralegals, and attorneys who seemed completely lost and disinterested. They failed to provide any real updates or even do basic work on my case, despite medical providers' feedback on my injury. What makes this worse is that their empty promises diverted me from other reputable law firms who were eager to take my case seriously. Carpenter & Zuckerman's negligence not only wasted my time but literally adds insult to injury. This behavior is extremely laughable and unprofessional, but also borderline malpractice. If you want to be shuffled around and treated like your case doesn't matter, then this is the firm for you. Otherwise, avoid them at all costs. I would also encourage any other former plaintiffs to submit a complaint to the California Bar Association website at the following link for what is clearly a standard of mistreating their clients based on the reviews on this site. https://apps.calbar.ca.gov/complaint/ read more
