I had lived in the same little cottage for 25 years, and abruptly my life there ended! It took 3 years before I was able to get my things out of storage and into a place I could call home! In those three years I had become disabled, and needed help to do the things I could no longer do! As a house warming gift, a friend gave me time with Annie, the owner operator of Carouba Solutions! I was nervous about it, and secretly hoped she'd cancel! But Annie with her wisdom and compassion, came into my messed up apartment and so gently took charge, putting me at ease. I was shocked at how much she accomplished in only a few hours! She wisely understands that it's hard for her clients to make decisions about what stays and what goes, and that every item touched has a memory, and a story attached! So only a few hours at a time was what I emotionally needed to make a huge difference! I realized when we were done that day, that Is been nervous because I was remembering how my Mom would tear through my room when I was a teenager, throwing out what I treasured and meant nothing to her. Annie worked with us to organize our garage this past weekend and she was amazing! I am a minimalist and my husband is a pack rat so having her guidance and support was paramount. We had talked about doing this project for 6 years because when we combined households a whole side of the garage got filled with stuff we never touched or used. First of all, I assumed this project would take days. We were done in about 6 hours from soup to nuts. I feel like I just lost 20 pounds! And the most satisfying part was the smile on my husbands face at the end of the day as he was not looking forward to this experience.
