On October 11, I had scheduled an appointment at Carolyn Pretty Pups to have my dog, whoslightly overgrown to be groomed. Upon my arrival, I consulted with the staff regarding the services I desired, which included dental care, nail trimming, and a thorough haircut. Prior to leaving, I inquired about the cost, and the attendants informed me that the total would be $95. I agreed, understanding that my dog was indeed a bit overgrown, although I anticipated a slightly higher fee. After two hours, I returned to collect my Yorkshire Terrier. At that point, Carolyn the owner assisted me this time and started to suggested that I consider neutering my dog, explaining that his overgrown condition required more extensive work than she had initially expected. She then informed me that the charge would now be $115 instead of the previously quoted $95. I expressed my concern, stating that had I been notified of the price change, I could have made an informed decision about whether to proceed. I had brought $100 with me, which included a $5 tip, and informed her that I would prefer to settle for that amount, after which we could part ways amicably. However, she aggressively refused to return my dog, which led me to contact the authorities. She provocatively remarked that I could call the police, as she was familiar with them. When the police arrived, I explained the situation to them, and they went inside to speak with her. They later returned to confirm that I had signed a paper regarding my appointment, which was irrelevant since I had attended without any missed appointments. They advised me to pay her in order to retrieve my dog. Upon re-entering the premises, Carolyns continued to insult me, claiming that the grooming costs were significantly higher than what I was prepared to pay, despite it being the price I was initially quoted. I left in frustration, especially after she insinuated that I should contact ICE immigration authorities. In response, I defended myself, making it clear that I am a U.S. citizen. I wish to highlight this experience as a warning for immigrants who may seek grooming services at Carolyns pretty pups. The treatment I received was not only rude but also discriminatory and exploitative. I will not return to her establishment, nor will I recommend her services to anyone; I intend to leave reviews wherever possible to share my experience. read more

Prices are out of control..110 just for a bath and brushing..highest price I've ever paid for any dog from any groomer..this isn't Hollywood California lady.i will seek a more reasonable groomer. read more

When I first took my basset hound Martha to these folks, I thought they did such a great job. Her ears were clean as a whistle, her nails were cut, shorter than anybody ever was able to without any blood bleeding. The last two times have been nothing but a disappointment. Her ears are filthy. I realized, after the first time they hadn't cleaned them, which is fine. It's no big deal but the second time I specifically requested to clean her ears and they said sure no problem. That's what we do all the time. Her nails need more trimming. It looks like they just took the tips off at least they Dremelled them down. I'm not sure who Carolyn is, but she needs to talk to her staff. They aren't doing a good job. I owned my own grooming business for over 20 years. And I would never let a dog, especially a basset hound that are known to have long ears that get dirty, leave my shop like this. Maybe that's why I was in business for so long. read more

I would not even give them a one the injured, my dog, cut a hole in the middle of her head and tried to hide it with a ribbon. When I confronted Caroline, I was made to feel like an idiot, and then I somehow remove that ribbon from her head and made the deep gash that was on top of her head. I do not feel like she's a good person or a reputable business owner. She hurt my dog or someone on her staff hurt my dog and she lied about it. read more

Ellie loves going here to see Amanda and I love it too! It's a clean, tranquil place to visit and if the weather is nice you can sit outside and watch the wildlife. The grooming prices are comparable to a big pet store but the products are far superior and it's a stress free environment for my dog which is priceless!! She always leaves there smelling great, happy, wearing a cute bandanna and getting a treat when she's done. I brought my friend's 2 cocker spaniels last week. Normally they don't do well at any groomers but they seriously loved it there. No anxiety! It was actually hard getting one of them to leave and go home! My friend was thrilled with their cuts but even happier that he has a place to go now where he doesn't feel guilty leaving them! I've only used Amanda, who is AMAZING, but I'm sure the other groomers are great too! read more

I am sad to have to agree with Dawn K who wrote a review in Feb 2021. It was just the worst experience for us. NEVER BRING YOUR ACTIVE PUPPY or DOG here IF HE HASN'T LEARNED TO SIT PERFECTLY STILL FOR HOURS. This was the very first groom my pup ever had at 7 months old. Carolyn, the owner greeted me by reprimanding me for not having him in for grooming sooner! Fair enough - he is a long haired cockapoo and quite shaggy. But due to the pandemic we did not rush out for this service. He is a very active, small 15 pound puppy. I told her right up front that he would likely not sit still. I had been worried about it so I brought lots of his fav treats with him because I know that works. She refused to take them saying only - "He needs to learn to sit still" Fair enough again, I thought - she is the professional. (But how do puppies learn? - Treats!) She kept him 2 hours, then called me saying that I needed to come now because she had cut him on his nose. She said she was trying to finish him up and he just would not sit still (yea I think I told you that!) She said she had to muzzle him and then told me he was bleeding and probably needed a trip to the vet. I went right over to get him. She greeted me by berating my dog - no apology nor sympathy for me or my puppy -nothing close. She told me he was out of control the entire time, wriggling, trying to bite. She told me he was "the worst dog she ever had there" Seriously? My little pup was the worst? I said only that I thought she would know how to handle wriggly puppies. You would have thought I said something awful to her. She told me I insulted her! Seriously?? Then she said he is not welcome back (Like I was ever bringing him back!)and oh by the way - that will be $95! The groom was obviously not even finished after 2 hours - he was half trimmed. I agreed to pay her only because I wanted my dog back fast. I left telling her I expected her to pay the vet bill. To her credit, she agreed. My pup was dripping blood and had a cut straight across his whole little nose. He was shaking and truly scared. We went straight to the vet and he had to endure having the cut on his poor little nose glued closed and then a collar to keep him from scratching at it. Luckily it did not need stitches and it did heal up fine after a few weeks. The vet bill was the same charge as the groom so she did refund my money - could have cared less that she traumatized our poor puppy. I now have another groomer - "Outside the Box Grooming". They are wonderful! Complete opposite of our experience with Carolyn. They are patient, kind, very caring and she comes right to our house. They are taking it very slow with him so he can learn trust again. And they charge half the price! It took me 3 months to write this review because I was so upset that anyone who works with animals would treat them or their customer in this way - yes the cut was accidental, but the attitude toward my pup... the utter disgust that he would dare to not sit still was evident. She has a routine and the dog better be able to follow it. I have since been told a first groom experience should be short and pleasant so the dog gets used to it - never 2 hours plus and never force a dog who is unwilling/unable to sit for a groom - especially a puppy. We have two large Samoyed/Poodle mixes - a tough groom with their under coats/hair. We add extra services, like tooth cleaning and glands. Carolyn and her team do a wonderful job! They are flexible with scheduling us in and quick on the day of our appointment. They are always friendly and willing to answer questions- great customer service. My parents take their golden retriever here and her thick coat is always cut perfectly. Not very well trained staff...they shaved off my dogs nipples...my family was mortified...I called immediately when I found the issue...that same day...only to be told the owner was NOT there...I never heard back...Not even a apology...my poor pup...how can you NOT notice that a dog is bleeding on their stomach and from where????? All I can say is do not ignore the negative reviews that are posted. You'll notice they all are about injuries that the owners dogs received while getting groomed here. My dog has been going here over a year and today her ear was cut. Ok no big deal things happen cuts heal. They didn't say anything when I picked her up. Then when I called to voice my disappointment I was told it didn't bleed...and they only say something when it bleeds. The owner kept repeating this and insisting it wasn't cut and at no point in time tried to handle the situation in any sort of professional way. Well eventually as my disappointment turned to anger I did use a curse word. Shame on me but I'm human. They hung up and rightfully so. I went to the shop to show them the ear that was cut and they insisted it wasn't. The owner had her two employees look at it and said "there's no cut there" of course they say nothing I don't blame them. They do a fine job cutting your dogs hair. But what good is that when they handle clients who have an issue with something they did in the most unprofessional and rude way. The owner is very stubborn and doesn't know the first thing about how to handle customers. I'm a reasonable person who really only wanted an apology and acknowledgement that they should have and will notify me if something like that happened again. Go at your own risk. read more

I've been going here for years, I would not go anywhere else. They treat my baby girl as if she was one of there own. Very friendly and courteous staff. They were also tremendous after she recovered and was able to get groomed after her acl surgery. Highly recommend read more
