There is an abundance of wild life, turkeys, coyotes, ducks, geese, raccoons etc.. In fact, the first time I seen a wild Turkey was about 5 years ago and I left to go to my car it was surrounded by a huge flock of Turkeys! This library has all sorts of events, like Christmas with Santa (with live reindeer), halloween events, and even has a seed library. I wrote my first book here, and had my first ever book signing here at William P. Faust Library. It is always clean, comfy, the staff are lovely and they always have various resources for research and services. They even have a Veteran's Memorial park. I highly recommend this Library!

I enjoy their CDs, movies (including some new stuff and TV show seasons), and real books too. They have newer movies in their auditorium for free, a child-friendly option Saturday afternoons and a PG/PG-13 option on Saturday evenings. Recent movies have included the latest James Bond and Oblivion (tonight). Good hours, with multiple late nights per week and Sunday hours while school's in session. Friendly staff. Tons of parking outside and comfy seating inside.

The librarian came over and loudly admonished my 7 year old granddaughter that "you have to be under 4 feel tall to play here." I didn't see the sign or I wouldn't have put her in that situation...but I wish the librarian had come to me instead of sternly marching up to the child. It's not even like there were any other small children there...just the 4 of us. The MelCat service is funded by the Federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) via the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the Library of Michigan, part of the Michigan Department of Education. "Leanna Hicks: Journalist, Community Worker, Youth Director, Historian, Library Activist and Humanitarian Mrs. Hicks has spent much of the past 20 to 40 years on the improvement of our local libraries and preservation of local history. Through her service over (40 years) as current vice-president (president emeritus) of the Inkster Historical Commission, she has overseen hundreds of acquisitions and improvements in our library and historical collections. She is also the founder of The Friends of the Inkster Library, a 20 year old Inkster Library support group. She has also held positions with the Wayne County Federation Library and the Wayne County Library Commission. Leanna holds degrees in Journalism and Social Science from the Eastern Michigan University and Wayne State University. She has received countless humanitarian awards from institutions such as the YWCA, Girl Scouts of America, Veterans groups, NAACP, Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, City of Inkster Parks and Recreation and Inkster Christians in Action, just to name a few.
