I've known Joe for over two years, who initially helped me with finding a rental apartment in 2012…read moreand most recently with a purchase of my first primary residence. I've worked with a number of realtors in the past (helping my friends and family with their housing needs) and every time was shocked about how poor the service was. Joe is ONE BIG exception. From the first time I met him in 2012 to this day he sets the bar (for all realtors if you ask me!) really high and I am yet to meet someone so organized, well spoken, timely, professional, responsive and just fun to work with. I had an incredibly tight deadline to find and close on a place due to personal reasons and Joe went above and beyond not only to make this happen but also to minimize the amount of stress by arranging everything related to insurance, inspection, closing attorney, financing referral while educating me in the process about what I need to know (I was apparently clueless as this was my first purchase). What I think is also brilliant is the system Joe and his wife put in place to manage client queues, inquiries, documentation, etc. They work like a well oiled machine making this process speedy and efficient. I never once had have to worry about not hearing back for days, normally getting a response within an hour if not less. Lastly, while Joe will always give you recommendations about other professionals (insurance, financing, inspection, etc) he never once tried to pressure me in any way and always left the choice up to me, which is very professional. Overall, this was a great experience and I have and will continue highly recommending Joe to my friends, family and co-workers. He is the one to beat!

During the due diligence period our realtor referred us to a Home Inspection company. During the inspection I discussed my concern with the Garage door that had damage. After a few discussions back and forth with the seller's realtor I was presented a contact for a garage door company at closing. The garage door company came to the property the week after closing installed a part and adjusted the opener. Three days later the garage door collapsed causing the need for a new garage door. I learned during the installation of the new door that the original door had been installed incorrectly and the rollers were installed out of sequence. BUYER BEWARE I was told by the seller's realtor that they were not responsible since the inspection company noted that the door was fully functional. The home inspection company referred to a section of the contract that held them harmless. We the buyers were left with a $900.00 repair. I feel that the home inspection company and my realty company worked to support the bank and seller and not the buyer. BUYER BEWARE We also negotiated a home warranty through 2-10 that was referred to us by our realtor. At closing we were provided with an email and a link telling us we were registered. We purchased a 17 year old home with the original HVAC and hot water heater and this gave us the comfort level to move forward. "This covers your major facilities (HVAC, water heater, appliance, etc) in the event of a failure. If something fails you will be responsible for a $75.00 co-pay." Our water heater failed. The company sent a plumbing company. We paid 75.00 to get a quote for an additional $800.00. The warranty does not cover any charges associated with the change in code. The bottom line is the warranty company paid less than 30% of the repair. I was told by the realty company that this would have been better if I upgraded the service with the warranty company. I was sent a flyer for the first time that showed what the upgrades cover. Once again I feel the real estate company only had one goal and that is to complete the sale of a home. BUYER BEWARE I would not use or refer anyone I know that is interested in buying a home to the Allen Tate Real Estate Company. I will also contact my company and inform them of the relocation realty experience.

To make this process even more challenging, my wife was 6 months pregnant with our first child. We flew out to Charlotte on Thanksgiving night to look at houses. Kelly Smith was the realtor my wife was working with, and since she was going to be out of town for the holiday, Kent Temple filled in for her. From the first 5 minutes after meeting Kent, you know you are in good hands. Kent makes you feel like you are part of his family, hes honest, willing to help in any way, and will answer any kind of crazy questions you may have...trust me, I ask all kinds of questions. Unfortunately we were not able to find a home when we went looking with Kent, and Kelly was able to pick up where Kent left off. Since we were in a hurry to move, Kelly helped up find a rental while we look for a house to buy. I cant begin to say enough good things about Kelly. She is one of the most organized, helpful, and willing to show as many houses as it takes. Kelly was always available to us and would always promptly respond to email / calls. Kelly over communicates in order to be very clear that she understands what we want and that we understand what she advises. We felt very comfortable working with Kelly as she did not push us into homes nor did she push us away from homes. Instead she asked us how we felt about the home after each visit and let us come to our own decisions. If we were unsure, we asked her for her personal/professional opinion and only then would she influence our decision. What you look for when you choose a realtor may be different for everyone, but I can vouch that with Kelly and the Temple Team you will get someone who will do her best to help you get the home that you want

How inconsiderate of her not to reach out to all the people who made offers on this property/their agents to just let them know there had been a delay. Not a very caring Agent, knowing clients/buyers are waiting. I prefer considerate agents/team members. One who realizes buyers are anxiously waiting to hear if their offer was accepted.
