For this #ThankfulThursday, my attention is turning to Dr. De'Shaunda Hampton and what she is doing at her company, Hampton Education Consulting Company (HECC), a #BlackOwned and #WomanOwned Business. I should disclose that Dr. Hampton is an acquaintance, however, her 25 years in education as a educator and administrator speaks volumes! This review is based solely on what I am witnessing her do to aid the children and community she has always served. When the pandemic hit this year, Dr. Hampton was already employed at the college level, and consulting and writing. However, she knew the children and families in Winston-Salem, NC would struggle with the new transitions in education, so she created HECC. Despite her continued grueling schedule with her work and family life, Dr. Hampton has managed to create a program through HECC that solves the issues students and parents now face, having to attend class virtually, without the assistance of in-person educators. HECC is able to teach Pre-K through 12, as well as assist college students and Adults. They do remediation, tutoring, day camp, and direct instruction. The highly rated software, MobyMax, is utilized to do pre-assessments and help determine how HECC can most assist students. Are you ready for another bonus? HECC is within FSA Eligibility guidelines because they offer Before and After School Care via the tutoring and remediation, Day Camp, and Whole Day programs. If your childcare or aftercare has closed due to COVID, Dependent Childcare FSA is now accepted at HECC! All CDC COVID-19 guidelines are strictly followed for students/parents who attend in-person lessons, and things are sanitized between classes. I have personally referred families to Hampton Education Consulting Company because I know that Dr. Hampton has a passion for education and a heart for children. Former sous chef who gave my resignation from working in the moran Commons dining hall. They…read morerecent posting for sous chef hiring immediately is my resignation of position. The posting holds alot of fallacies in it. As this is a hourly sous chef position which is separated from the salary sous chef positions. There is no formal training, No or very poor leadership in salary sous chefs and director of dining services. There is no communication in shuffle changes, Nov free parking, no training, they can change or modify your schedule without notice. Very low morale due to poor leadership. No advancement or growth. Leadership belittle you as being a hourly sous chef verses a salary sous chef. This is evident and present. They are separate. Your not allowed in meets, you don't participate in creating menus or covering food cost etc... they hire people with little or no expirence. For example you could be hired to do dishes or wipes tables and sweep floors one week. Because they are so short and have a high turn over rate which can be validated. They will have to same ppl prepping and serving food and sometimes cooking the food. They have a very high food cost .they don't use the FiFO rules first in first out. No proper labeling and dating of food. Poor quality food. Excessive waste of food and production. Leadership is very poor to little. No direction. No advancement or growth. I'm not a disgruntled employee. Instead highly motivated and professional and I feel I need to be a whistle blower. I can validate everything I said. I would not recommend anyone with exceptional experience to apply for this position as it is full of misleading and misinterpretation of sous chef position being posted. I believe in my professional position and experience that it starts from leadership at the top and everything else falls into place. I believe that need to hire New leadership team and salary sous chefs. Everyone has their own free will and if you apply for this position. Don't say I didn't try to honestly warn you of the waste of your time and talent. In honest fact. I officially gave my 2 weeks notice of resignation. However after seeing what I had to say regarding this similar posting. I was called in office immediately and was let go effective immediately with pay for the rest of my schedule week. I have to letter and signed proof for my record. UNCG dining services is not a good place to work and has a very high staffing turnover over and very low morale. Current Leadership needs to Go. Exception of executive Chef who recently just came aboard and is working hard to fix the situation. Salary sous chefs and director of Dining services Justin Meadows needs to be fired and new leadership team needs to be in place. Please do your diligence in researching this position before applying.
