Went here a couple weeks ago and had a great time! The bagels were some of the best i've found in pittsburgh which says something because Pittsburgh is definitely not known for their bagels. The service was great, they had an issue with their POS system which is not any of the workers fault and explained that it would take a couple more minutes but were so kind about it. I did not mind waiting at all! The ambiance was amazing and kinda out of a victorian library which was so aesthetically pleasing and many people were sitting and doing their work!! The space is adorable, lots of cute seating and cool because it's in an old bank, but I ordered an iced salted caramel latte - no creative flavors or anything like that - they have just the basics, took a sip and instantly it tasted burnt to me. I've had a lot of coffee/lattes, really a lot, and I've gone to coffee tastings, so I have a pretty good of an idea at this point. As for the service, mediocre. I asked for recommendations, and the girl at the counter really had none - she said we have mocha and a list of flavors. The most perfect little spot this side of the city I had my bridal shower at the quaint little cafe in August 2020 and Sue (the owner) did everything possible to make the day perfect. She flawlessly executed our vision while respecting all of the COVID restrictions. She made an incredibly stressful time so much easier and and the day was so memorable. We chose the non-traditional venue for our shower because the space was heavenly and intimate and perfect for a small gathering. Sue went above and beyond to make everything perfect. I've been here twice now and really enjoyed both experiences. The location is very cute and lots of space inside which I appreciate. This would be a great place to sit and catch up with a friend or do homework since there is so much space. We got a breakfast sandwich and a turkey club on a croissant, both were good. On a Sunday morning, this place was popping and seats were limited by 11:30am. Really shows how much people love coming here. I tried the Nicciola (hazelnut latte) which was amazing and would highly recommend! Not too sweet, the hazelnut flavor just saturates your entire palate, but in the best way possible, and great coffee. The Carnegie bagel was egg, Gouda, carmelized onions, and tomato - decently affordable at $5, bagels were meh but loved the touch of carmelized onions in my egg. As for the wifi, with the amount of patrons here, it's not surprising it's a bit skippy. read more

Today, I had a mango smoothie (not too sweet or icy) and spinach salad (fresh spinach, tomatoes, feta, and craisins with balsamic dressing). They have a few small tables outside and plenty of inside seating. I was here the other day and saw a member of the staff berate a customer with two young children. The customer was waiting for a while for an order that the shop forgot to make and all of a sudden the manager seemed irritated that they were hanging around. She was personally insulting to this poor lady who was just trying to get her order. Such an upsetting and negative experience--I will never return. read more

I came here after hearing great reviews and to get a friend a gift card for her birthday -- it's her favorite! And I loved that it's in an old post office in a super cute part of town with other little shops and restaurants. There's a ton of coffee drinks to choose from, as well as flavored syrups and specialty lattes. I had a sugar free vanilla cold brew and the quality of the coffee was great. The food menu was impressive, although I didn't get anything during this visit -- I still regret not getting the Cinnamon Toast Crunch coffee cake they had in their baked goods area. This is a really cute coffee shop located on the main street of Carnegie in the old post office. Last time I went it was only occupying half the space, and the other side was a pharmacy. When I went in this most recent time, they took over the whole building and renovated it beautifully. It is two floors, and has larger conference tables upstairs. This would be a great place for a team meeting. They had all different types of seating - comfortable chairs and bar stools and desk tables. I worked there for a few hours one day, and they had good free wifi. The coffee is awesome! I ordered an oat milk latte and added a pump of their cinnamon brown sugar syrup. It was delicious! There was a line of 6 people in front of me when I got there at 1 pm on a Thursday, and everyone was ordering lunch food. It all sounded amazing. Next time I plan to eat breakfast or lunch while I work there. On the new side of the shop they sell specialty food items like pasta and sauces. It is so cute and the employees are very friendly. I still cannot believe that I now live in the same neighborhood as this darling coffee shop and cafe. The business operates out of the former Carnegie Post Office, so you can actually still see some of the postal boxes when you place your order. I am admittedly not a coffee drinker, but I know it's a big deal here - the cafe's claim to fame is being the only coffee house in Western Pennsylvania serving Illy coffee. I personally come here for the sweets and the smoothies (and hopefully one day, to try their breakfasts and sandwiches). The smoothies are always fantastic - not too thick, not too runny, good at balancing the ingredients and getting the flavors right - and once you add some whipped cream on top you'll have quite a tasty drink to brighten your day. I know that some of the sweets come from another business, but I believe others are indeed made in house, such as an amazing fresh brownie that I told myself I wouldn't eat in one sitting. Oops. Most importantly, unlike many shops - where I'm perfectly happy purchasing and carrying on with my day - this little coffee place screams to me "stay!" And it's not just because of the phone booth that's included in the decor, although that makes me grin; it's the cute tables, the cozy nooks, and the fact that one section literally feels like a lounge, complete with bookshelves. All of it is clean and bright and cheerful, and I really want to set aside time to just hang out here with a book. The place was designed with exactly that intention (i.e. a European cafe), and one day I plan to take advantage of that design to the fullest. Whether you stick around or you do get your order to go, this place is totally worth visiting. Wow I love this place! My daughter placed an online order because we were short on time , but I wish we had stayed and had our coffee there. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, nice music, friendly staff and customers. It is in an old restored building which was really funky and cool. It is located on a square which looks like a nice interesting place too. After I saw the interior, I actually dragged my daughter from the car to come in and see the place, We had placed the order only about three minutes before arriving and they were actually apologizing for not having it ready when we arrived. I just wanted to update my review to reflect the amazing experience I had hosting my son's first birthday party here on Saturday! It was just the perfect venue, not only because they have a private adorable upstairs room, but they made it so easy to organize. The space holds up to 30 people and is super comfortable at that amount. I love the mix of table seating and couches, you can really spread out if you want to. The rate to rent the room during normal business hours is $50 an hour, which I think is totally reasonable. You choose from a simple menu of sandwiches, salads and charcuterie boards that they make in house. The food was beautifully displayed and marked appropriately. They even made special gluten free items for me and a few others. I also like that you have the option to bring in your own desserts. If you want to serve alcohol it's $2 a head. You can also either have a coffee carafe or choose to have people order at the coffee bar. We chose the later option and it honestly wasn't a crazy amount. I will note that communication between the event planner was excellent. She answered all of my questions promptly and made things so easy. I appreciate that, because half of planning an event is the coordination. Definitely consider this for your next shower, birthday or get together! read more
