Do not send your children to the elementary school unless you want to deal with random cys visits and drama! This is is the second time! I could understand if my children were actually being abused but they have a normal happy life. Yes I work a lot I'm not perfect but my children are not battered or dirty. Every time I get a call the case gets closed that same day. They have siblings and siblings fight that doesn't mean call over every mark they have...I'm fed up with this district read more

This is a fantastic school system…read more I have three students in the system: two at Jefferson Middle and one at the High School. I am very pleased with the leadership, the facilities, the programs (especially fine-arts/music), and especially the TEACHERS. These are professional teachers. They are dedicated, they treat my kids with respect, and they set great examples. They often show up at after-hours extracurricular-events, something they are not paid to do and do not have to do, but in doing so, help the kids feel what they are doing matters and is important. My family chose Mt. Lebanon among pretty much all Pittsburgh-area communities (via corp. relo) expressly because of the research we did on schools. We have not been disappointed. In fact, my experience so far (two years in) has exceeded my expectations.

The park next door is very nice & shaded & a good place to escape the heat.

Just experienced a bizarre and repulsive event involving children from this school district. Went to an Asian buffet restaurant in 15205. Four members of the Carlynton baseball team were there. Some how they accessed the restaurant's video display/sound screens and began Bluetoothing the most pornographic and racist rap music. When we approached them about it, they laughed and left the restaurant. However, they sat outside the restaurant and continued to access the restaurant entertainment system with rap garbage witch explicitly cited Nigxxs and a$$-f-ing sex. Thank you to the parents of Carlynton baseball children for your evil spawn. read more

But, we had to pull our child…read moreout due to negligent and lax COVID policies that have resulted in weekly exposures and illness among the children too young to be vaccinated. These policies are an outgrowth of the lax policies being exhibited at local shuls where masking and distancing are non-existent. This has exposed vulnerable children and adults to a cycle of disease and the administration have not only ignored parental concerns but have further relaxed rules. On two occasions we were told to get PCR tests but no one ever actually looked at them. The last draw was that they waited several days after an exposure to let the parents know and then put into place a testing schedule that would have exposed children to any additional COVID positive children for up to 4 days. The principal only responded to concerns when outed on public facebook discussion pages and refused to participate in any sort of forum with the parents the doctors who are allegedly consulting with him (no evidence of their consult has been shown to parents). This is not a school that takes health seriously.
