Carlow is a charming town. The first thing that struck on this town centre location was that it's quite a small place, yes compact and bijou describes it tidily.
It was a cold, wet day; as I walked in I was glad that we parked somewhere else as it was darn full and the allocated space per car isn't generous despite the fact that it's pay parking.
I really do detest having to pay to park to shop.
The next thing that struck was just how few shops there were that I'd be interested in; for me it's a completely forgettable place.
There's a Penney's, now doubt their flagship store, a Peter Mark, an overpriced Gelato place and a Nickel cafe where there's nothing that costs a nickel.
So if I were standing outside it again I'd be unlikely to go back inside, I'd go somewhere else. read more
