History
Established in 1991.
Danny Scroggs began Lawn Care Plus in 1991, to fill the needs of clients who demanded dependable, high quality lawn and landscape care. He soon began to seek out education about turfgrass management and related subjects, and to branch out into horticulture and landscape contracting. As a result of numerous schools, classes, certifications and licenses earned, his focus and fields of expertise broadened gradually from lawn care to ornamental horticulture, landscape design and installation, hardscapes, water features, irrigation, stone work, pavers, and much more. In the year 2000 his company was rebranded as Carefree Landscapes. By attracting and retaining talented, dedicated workers, providing comprehensive training, and staying involved personally in the creative processes involved in landscape design and installation, Danny Scroggs keeps Carefree Landscapes in the elite tier of landscape contracting companies in the area they service.
Meet the Business Owner: Danny S.
Danny comes from a family background of self-employment, and has spent numerous years in the food industry. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force and was discharged honorably. His career path in arts began at Haywood Community College, in the Jewelry and Metal Design and Production program (1979-1981). He continues to design and create jewelry pieces with custom cut jewels, silver and gold. But his focus changed to landscaping in 1991. Although his career in landscaping started with maintenance, it soon broadened into more creative areas such as waterfalls, stone patios, and the like. He attended Blue Ridge Community College and studied their Landscape Design curriculum, and seeks out education in any related area. He still loves working with stone; he just uses it on a larger scale now!
