Coming to Long Beach Comprehensive Health Center lifted a tremendous amount of weight off my shoulders. Dr. Cruz, Dr. Marisse from the ultrasound department, and even the assistants and front desk treated me empathy and care. I did not have to wait long for an appointment on Friday and when I needed a follow up with ultrasound, they called me Monday morning and said I could be seen today or tomorrow. The building itself is a little old, but all the equipment is nice and the rooms are super clean. I have another follow up coming up in a month and I have zero anxiety about it knowing that I am in good hands.

If you're trying to get help from the women's clinic, don't expect much. The office feels very unorganized. After waiting months for an appointment, I'm asked why I'm there, even though the appointment was scheduled by their staff. If I waited three months to be seen, I would expect them to know the reason for my visit and have my information ready. Communication is poor, and it often feels like no one is on the same page. Overall, the experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I'm writing this so other people can know!

1-Star Review for St. Mary Medical Center Long Beach - Emergency Department…read more My family and I had an extremely disappointing and distressing experience at St. Mary Medical Center Long Beach Emergency Department. My mother arrived at the ER at 12:17 PM and wasn't checked in until 12:48 PM. Two hours later, she still hadn't been seen by a doctor. When I called the hospital, I spoke with Bertha in the ER, who couldn't even locate my mother in the system. After multiple calls and transfers, Rickie in admitting finally told me that my mother had been discharged for "not showing up"--even though she had been sitting in the waiting area the entire time. It turned out the staff had confused her with another patient and provided my mother's information to someone else, which is completely unacceptable. Rickie was kind enough to apologize and help get my mother re-registered, but by the time I arrived at 6:10 PM, my mom had already endured hours of waiting and confusion. She was eventually sent for a CT scan, but when the technician (an Asian woman whose name we didn't get) pulled on my mother's arm despite her saying she was in pain from arthritis, my mom was ignored and even laughed at. I requested to speak with a charge nurse, and Jason was professional and compassionate--he listened, apologized, and tried to help expedite the pending results. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff were dismissive and rude. When shift change happened, communication got worse. The new charge nurse seemed uninterested and defensive, raising her hands as if we were a threat when we tried to calmly explain what had happened. To make things worse, there was confusion about a urine sample--staff claimed my mother "refused," even though she was never asked. Throughout the night, we were met with eye rolls, cold attitudes, and no empathy. We overheard other patients expressing frustration after waiting 3+ hours to even be seen by a doctor. Overall, our experience lasted over 8 hours, and my mother was subjected to errors, disrespect, and negligence. The only person who showed compassion was Jason, and we truly appreciated his effort to communicate clearly and advocate for her. This ER needs serious improvement in patient safety, communication, and staff professionalism. No family should have to go through what we did.

Nurse N.Malka said "yes she is she's a bit chubby" How unprofessional! This nurse chose to use her short window in the room to be rude to family visiting.

The staff are superb and take great care of everyone. I am forever grateful to them for being so kind, caring, and professional. The only reason why this spot doesn't get 5 stars is because the waiting room in the ER is dirty. I understand that the filth is brought in by us, the patients, but regular cleaning, and upholding standards is a must.

Both ailments have rendered permanent psychiatric damage and trauma response from having limited access to care over the course of my entire adult life. A handful of years ago, I found salvation through a biologic medication called Skyrizi. I went to the dermatologist, to some photos of my plight and three days later I had a nifty little injector pen delivered to my door. Mind you, at the time I was enrolled with Kaiser through my job, but it was still a very basic care plan. Forward a few years and replace my insurance provider a couple times until, to my immense misfortune, I landed with Molina Healthcare. I have been attempting to obtain a single dose of Skyrizi since August, only to receive constant bureaucratic ignorance from my "care plan" about a prior authorization that was needed to approve the medicine. My PCP and I have given EVERY piece of documentation needed to secure the medicine in the past years; from approval letters from previous insurance providers to even a letter from the medicine's manufacturer, AbbVie, welcoming me to their revolutionary treatment. I even had an ambassador from AbbVie call Molina directly to tell them I have indeed been taking this medication for half a decade, but they STILL denied me. I am now heavily agoraphobic, overly anxious and agitated, with no family for thousands of miles and no means to obtain care or live my life in any capacity other than occupying space. I have given up hope and soon fear I will succumb to crippling manic depression, all thanks to Molina's archaic and malicious conduct. IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH AND YOUR LIFE DO NOT ENROLL WITH THESE HORRIBLE GREED MONGERS.

Till one day, I just couldn't take it anymore and came to VALB for mental help. Dr. Smita asked me some questions that day and handed me over to Physician Assistant Sue Tin for follow-up care. I had a video appointment with Sue Tin. I told her that a year after I returned from Iraq in 2007, traumatic thoughts kept reappearing, making me angry, and it kept getting worse and worse. She said it's an anger issue and put me on Quetiapine, which didn't do anything but made me sleep, and woke up feeling tired and drugged up. Then I had an appointment with a senior Psychologist Dr. James Edward. Before the appointment, I had to take a test, but I didn't know what the test was for. I was shocked when Dr. Edward told me that I have severe symptoms of PTSD. I argue with him, saying that it's impossible for me to have PTSD because I was never in any combat. So I went through 6 weeks of group therapy and left the program. One day, a childhood friend of mine noticed that I had changed a lot ever since I returned from Iraq and told me about non-combat PTSD. I applied, was carefully examined by a VA doctor, and was awarded 70% compensation. HOW MANY MORE MENTALLY WOUNDED VETERANS WILL SUE TIN BE ALLOWED TO JUST DISSMISSED AND LEFT TO DIE HOMELESS ON THE STREET? SHE NEVER SERVED A DAY IN THE MIDDLE EAST. WE DID, AND WHEN WE WERE ABOUT TO BLOW OUR OWN BRAIN OUT FROM TRAUMATIC THOUGHTS REAPPEARING AND CAME TO VA HOSPITAL FOR HELP, WE GOT SOME SH### LIKE SUE TIN.
