This place had every type of beer you could want - Bell's Two Hearted, 3 Floyds, Lakefront you name it, they got it - including Holiday packs - for the same price at Binny's. They also carry nice wines and liquors at reasonable price. A few days after that, I went over to the hardware store to get a tank propane for my gas grill. They told me they had just sold the last tank, but recommended I try Mos. I had no idea they sold propane. I was able to pick a tank up and cook my Christmas steaks on the grill. Wooot!

Because he did not have the Glögg wine I was looking for tonight, I decided to just play the lottery for my husband who is a Navy service member (hence this being our go-to package store). Imagine my surprise when he asked me to step outside in 4° weather to fill out the play slip. I am a lottery newbie, so I did not know what I was doing. Nevertheless, I will never patronize this place again. He was rude and then told a lie that he was the new manager, when I rebutted that he's the same face I've seen in here for years. What makes Mr. Joseph's my go-to is the genuine smile and greeting that I get walking in the door combined with the no frills atmosphere that offers me exactly what I'm looking for. If you are looking for a hard to find or specialty beer or liquor, this may not be the place but if you are making a run for the basics and a solid wine selection...give Mr. Joseph's a try.

So I'm in NYC looking for cheap beer. I go to Yelp and put in Dive Bars. Bingo! So in that spirit I…read morewould recommend Club 18. It has cheap tap beer, no frills, tons of locals, loud music (sometimes Spanish, sometimes Blues, rock, etc) and raucous Bears and Cub/Sox sport watching. Pool seems very popular but I'm not a fan. No food to get in the way of the drinking here. Although on Bears game days, some of the best food I've ever eaten is available for free with beverage purchase. Scary does describe some people, I'll admit, but it's funny how cheap beer has a bonding effect even of the most intimidating people. I've met several that ordinarily wouldn't give me the time of day. It's all good.

We were searching for a spot that had a 'Touch Tunes" jukebox so we could continue our party outside, which they had. Drinks were flowing, shots were fun, someone offered a game of pool to which they paid and who doesn't like a free game?! We made a couple friends and ended up invited people to our table. Club 18 is a hole in the wall / dive bar. Bring an optimistic attitude, don't expect too much and be prepared to supply your own fun. We're looking forward to going back with a small group of friends again very soon!

Instead, a lady opens up a window, you ask for your desired booze, and cha-ching...a transaction has occurred. That easy. You can always choose to fight the innate Midwestern laziness and go inside too. Now keep in mind that there is a very high-pitched beeper that rings continually until the door returns to a closed position (in other words, don't piss off the employee by opening the door widely or taking too long to step in). You also may be surprised to see the employee's cat who lays still on a desk and seems to be stuffed--Nope, it's alive alright (and probably hates when you wake her up with the doors alarm). I was happy to see that they have a good sized wine selection, in addition to several fridges for cold beverages. You definitely can't beat the prices, especially when compared to alcohol selling chains like CVS or Pick N Save.
