Had a water pump replaced and was quoted under $200 for the entire thing. When I went to go pick it…read moreup, the water pump alone was almost $200, and it ended up to be $450 with labor. It would have been cheaper to go to a dealer, and they denied saying anything about having the quote for under $200 total. Was not impressed.

Overpriced on parts and labor!! Got taken! My 17 year old…read moreson had a coolant leak in his truck and we brought it in to Pro Auto Repair on February 14th. They called us and said it needed a new water pump. That was "$88" and "the thermostat is part of the water pump" (never said that was extra). The bill came to $489.33! Got charged $188 for the water pump and $33 for a thermostat and $210 to install. I thought all their part and labor prices were outrageous so I called NAPA. $120 for the same new water pump. Then I called the local GM dealer. $135 for the new aftermarket water pump. How much to put it in? He checked and said $180. I called up Pro Auto and asked what the heck was going on and why I was overcharged on everything? He said I approved the $489 bill on the phone. I told him NO! he NEVER quoted me a final price and if I had agreed to it I wouldn't be calling him back all pissed off. I told him the prices I found elsewhere and he demanded to know where I got those prices. I told him. For the labor cost he said the books say it is 1.9 hours and the shop rate is $88 per hour. Um, OK, that's $167 and you charged me $210.89! He said he was going to investigate this and would call back. He called me later and never disputed a thing. He said the owner was out until Monday and he would talk to him and then they would see what they could do. So they finally called me Tuesday late afternoon. Their solution? With a smug attitude I was told "Bring the truck back into our shop and we will put the old water pump back in the truck, I'll write you a check for $489 and you can go somewhere else." I told him that truck was never going to be back in their shop again. And that is exactly what they expected and wanted. Would never recommend to anyone to go to Pro Auto Transmission & Repair in Hutchinson!!

Jim quoted me $5200.00. I said "Now you're sure about that?" He said "Oh yes. Thats very accurate"…read more I go to pick it up and he says that'll be $5876.22. What a sheister. Had I known he was such a liar I would have gone elsewhere. Jim gives car mechanics a bad name. I wonder how often he pulls his little con job. Next time I'll go elsewhere. There's plenty of mechanics besides Sheister Jim.

Dont waste your time or money here!!! If I could give roman and his shop negative stars I would…read more It took over a month ( 3rd of July until 12th August) to "fix" my truck. Roman never answers the phone, returns calls, or keeps the customer informed of what the status is of their vehicle. I finally picked up my truck, after a month, and he was still "diagnosing" a computer issue (one it didnt have when I brought it in)....they removed a ground wire between the transmission and frame...which magically made it shift right when I replaced it. Well, the 3 month warranty expired in November, here it is December 1st and the thing is destroyed, case shattered on it due to the wrong, overtightened fastners and brackets that hold it all square not being hooked up. To top it all off, when I removed the inspection cover what do I find? Low and behold, the WRONG torque converter, the truck is a diesel, and has a 6 bolt torque converter, the one that was used was a 3 bolt designed for a gas engine. Im sure there is more internally that was not assembled correctly, but Im too disgusted to even look any further right now. The best part is, when it came apart going 70mph, 500 miles from home, it destroyed the transfercase and driveshaft (which came apart and wrapped around the fuel lines, brake lines, parking brake cables, etc...) and cost another $900 for a wrecker ride home. I have tried to get in touch with Roman to see how he is going to handle this situation because I dont feel it is right for me to have to pay another $2500.00 for a transmission...go figure, he wont answer or return calls... Do what you can to avoid this place, OEM transmissioms are similar in price and have an actual warranty...
